Making the list
The Pistons are the sixth-most valuable franchise in the NBA, according to a new Forbes magazine list. They are worth $402 million, a 10 percent increase over 2004.
The Knicks are the league's most valuable franchise, valued at $543 million. The Lakers are second at $529, Rockets third ($422 million), Bulls fourth ($409 million), and Mavericks fifth ($403 million)
The list was based on the operating income and revenues for the 2004-05 season.
And who's in last? The New Orleans Hornets check in at $225 million.
