No the system is to blame for him going to New York? 52 million for 4 years? Damon is not worth 13 million per year. But in Yankees money, that's just pocket change.

I believe the Damon deal to be good for the Yankees. I don't believe the 13 mill a year is too much for a proven CF capable fo hitting .300 with a .360 OBP. This is exatly the guy the Yanks needed to hit in front of Jeter/Arod/SteroidNutz. That being said, I still hate the Yanks with a passion.

Damon is tyring to shed his wild rough mountain boy label and turn into a refined yankee. I think he will be like Samson in the Bible and lose strenth because of the lack of his hair.

Of course it's going to be good for the Yankees. Now, however, they'll get a few more beer bottles thrown out the team bus.
