Seeing Avery, Tobias, and BOBAN for Blake.

Seeing Avery, Tobias, and BOBAN for Blake.
And a first and a second. I think I love this.

LOL, Yeah, I edited it fools (no offense to Fool). The winners write the history books!

I mean, I guess Avery Bradley wasn't in the team's future anyway, so it's really a matter of asking whether Blake Griffin's high production, high salary, and high injury risk are worth Tobias's decent production and a possible lottery pick. My first reaction was to dislike the trade, but maybe I'll actually have something interesting to watch when I go to the game on Wednesday.

I had really grown to love Tobias, I think he's on the cusp of basically being a mini-Blake Griffin.

Griffin is clearly the better player though so i guess this is better than us just sucking like we have been,

This has me salivating, nobody's been able to get the Oop-pass to Dre right since Reggie and KCP were consistently doing it first half last year...

Blake is one of the best passers, 6-foot-9 or taller, in NBA history. He is one of six current players his height to have a season with an assist rate higher than 25 percent, and one of only 13 players to ever do it (http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/psl_finder.cgi?request=1&match=single&type=totals&per_minute_base=36&per_poss_base=100&season_start=1&season_end=-1&lg_id=NBA&age_min=0&age_max=99&is_playoffs=N&height_min=81&height_max=99&birth_country_is=Y&as_comp=gt&pos_is_g=Y&pos_is_gf=Y&pos_is_f=Y&pos_is_fg=Y&pos_is_fc=Y&pos_is_c=Y&pos_is_cf=Y&force%3Apos_is=1&qual=ast_per_g_req&c1stat=ast_pct&c1comp=gt&c1val=25&c6mult=1.0&order_by=ws). There have just not been many basketball players with his combination of size, speed, and ballhandling and passing ability before, and the best way to utilize him is to have him be the player throwing alley-oops, not catching them. Not only would using Blake as a point guard make him a better player, it would give his team more flexibility when it comes to the types of lineups he could be used in and the players he could be put around.

Ohh, the game is tomorrow, not on the 31st, glad I checked before I found myself at a Red Wings game.

Like the deal without our 1st. Seems rich to include it.

But this is an attempt at a job-saving move for SVG, so I understand his willingness to include the pick.

It's also going to be awkward trying to pretend I''m a fan of Griffin's flopping

Haha, I actually came here to announce I was getting a Blake neck tat before Tim reminded me how much I was going to miss Tobias.

Tobias will probably be back in 6-8 years, no worries.

I don't think we could afford both Avery and Harris after next year, right? 1 had to go?
Wish Reggie could've been included and kept 1 of those guys.
I don't follow much anymore, so I could be way off.
Also, WTF is Stan doing? He kind of seems like a dipshit to me. Not this trade, just in general.

We didn't own bird rights with Avery, right? So Clips won't either? So this could be a giant salary dump. Or is that what they've already said?
Let Avery go this year and Harris go next and they've cut some salary.

It's interesting that Stanley wasn't in this deal. Did they prefer a first rounder to him? (Probably...) Bringing in Blake really doesn't help with any plan to have him no longer be a spot-up "shooter" on offense.

I'm going to miss Boban too.

Is there any chance Brice Johnson is useful at all?

So who's going to start on the wings?
Andre at the 5, Blake at the 4....Ish/Reggie at the 1...

Stanley or Tolly at the 3?

Bullock as a huge 2?

There are actually some pretty huge, athletic lineups we can throw out there once everybody's healthy.

There are actually some pretty huge, athletic lineups we can throw out there once everybody's healthy.

Tolly gets all the backup minutes at the 4 and 10 or so at the 3. If Stanley starts they have to figure out some way to open up the offense so he's not just spotted up in the corner all the time. I don't think you can start Singler yet which is why I think you've gotta go Bullock at the 2.

I'm not opposed to starting Tolly, he's earned it, but that's harder to do paired up with Griffin as opposed to Tobias. Tolly would switch a lot with Tobias based on matchups on D but not sure if Griffin's too big to do that.

I actually think we'll do a lot better with the shortened rotation. I grew to really like Boban by the end but every time he came in the whole rhythm of the game just changed and screwed up the momentum.

Uncle Mxy

Boban often came into the game because our rhythm wasn't working in the first place.

We're 1-0 with Griffin not in the lineup.
