Gores would need to hire someone, or a couple of peeps, to do a good GM search. Hire an asst GM from a club that's run well.

Haha, Simmons actually mentioned Billups in his post-trade podcast, meant to tell you before. Basically he panned the trade for the Pistons (like he always does) and said (paraphrased...) "What does Stan care? He has nothing to lose, if it doesn't work he was probably gone anyways. At what point does Arn Tellum get an itchy trigger finger and give Chauncey Billups a call?"

Bower is No. 2 in the Pistons’ front office, working for Stan Van Gundy, who runs the basketball operation as coach and team president. According to a source familiar with the situation, Bower and Van Gundy are both under contract with the Pistons through the end of this season. That same source said Bower, 56, would definitely be interested in the Hornets’ opening. Bower worked in Charlotte previously, in the original Hornets’ front office.
