Trump nominated his first in Neil Gorsuch. In ordinary times, he'd be considered a conservative, but good pick. This isn't ordinary times. LOL @ Pelosi's description of him. What the hell has happened to the Dem party. Wow.

Also, this is the first of maybe 3, 4 or 5? Obviously no one knows if Trump gets reelected, so 4-8 years.

Ginsburg is 84 next month. She said she's staying on the court till she dies, iirc.

Kennedy will be 81. Not a true conservative.

Breyer will be 79 this year.

Not sure who said it, but there was some talk of Clarence Thomas (68) stepping down towards the end of Trumps first term. Trump could put a much younger, by 20 years, conservative on the court to take his place. Looks like the Senate will stay R in 2018, but who knows anymore.

Thanks Prince Harry for the Nuclear option! I know it wasn't used for SC picks, but who gives a shit. It will be now if the Dems don't confirm. I kind of hope Dems delay Gorsuch so Mitch goes nuclear. Then it'll be common for Senate to confirm SC justices this way. Just nuke that shit.

They need to have an age limit on the SC. When you hit 70, you gotta go.

Reading his anti-apartheid protestor rant, he comes across as a twit -- someone who wants to be George Will when his balls drop. The conservatives won't want to read the part where he advocates for socialism, too.

His position on death with dignity/assisted suicide is further evidence that he's a twit. FWIW, I fear that issue is becoming the new abortion. Abortion didn't used to be an R vs. D thing. There used to be personal principles involved, not so much identity politics. <sigh>

Gorsuch wrote a book called "The Future of Assisted Suicide and Euthanasia" a decade ago. I read some of it, and he came across as a twit. But, since it was originally intended to be a PhD thesis, where twit-speak is encouraged, I didn't read too much into it. I'm against his opinion... leave it at that. Then, I heard he had ranted against anti-apartheid protestors when he was at Columbia. If you read what he wrote at the time, he was a twit. I wouldn't be surprised if he hung out with bukdow.

How do you come across as a twit on assisted suicide? Either agree or not, but twit? If you can recall a sentence or 2 where he sounds like a twit, post it if you would mxy. Not doubting, but just wondering what he said. And thanks for clarifying.

I was reading about Federal judge vacancies and projected vacancies. I thought Odummy got to appoint a lot of judges, but Trump will most likely get to appoint more. There are vacancies open right now and if the previous retirement rate continues, Trumpster will appoint more federal judges than O, Bush, Clinton, 41 and Reagan.

Good stuff.
