Obamacare does need fixing. It's a big step in the right direction, but was always going to need fixing over time. Thus far, that's been blocked up. The Republican ideas on how to fix this are even more of a money grab for insurers than Obamacare has been.

The easiest way to pay for your healthcare premiums is to invest in health insurance stock. Look at UHC...

AFAICT, Obamacare did not directly lead to people being unable to keep their doctors and plans. Insurance companies used Obamacare as an excuse to fuck their customers. The proof of this is that changes that clearly had nothing whatsoever to do with Obamacare were imposed with the insurance company reps citing Obamacare as the reason. I did shopping for benefits and that B.S. was endemic. "We can screw our customers and not be the bad guy -- yippee!!" There may have been some legit Obamacare-induced changes, but I'd assume the insurance companies are lying and wanting to screw you because that's what they were like before Obamacare. As a result of my experience, my tactic has been to look at health insurancce companies and invest in them. If you can't beat 'em, profit from them. Look at the stock for UHC or Aetna.

In the meantime it expanded medicare to literally save millions of people in povery and it saved people with preexisting conditions from going totally bankrupt. Its flaw was always expected, the inability to stop insurance companies from increasing costs. Well, we have an easy solution for that. Coming soon.

Lets put things in perspective. Health care costs were already increasing before ACA when just healthy people could use plans that didn't cover shit without going bankrupt. In addition to that the poor and preexisting had NO ACCESS. It was a public health crisis along with a moral crisis. Since the Republicans have fought health care reform for , well my entire life, the democrats gave them a chance to come to the bargaining table and compromise on a bill much like Romneycare. That was a no go, as we learned, ANYTHING was a no go. Even republican governors to spite their own interests wouldn't even expand medicaid coverage in states fucking their people over. So, you get a plan that is most in line with a Republican version of a plan. That passed. The plan sucked. Everyone agreed it sucked. It wasn't what anyone wanted. Who was to blame? Republicans. They didn't want a solution at all. Democrats rolled with their best idea and it fucking sucks surprising no one.

It helps the poor, it helps the sick, but guess who gets fucked over by it?
Rural areas where there isn't competition. Wage earners without employer health care making outside 400%. Middle-class republican familes get the pipe. Get it right up the ass.

Come to the table and start talking about single payer or public option ideas instead of trying to pretend you can control health costs with competition (you can't). The legislation isn't perfect and needs to be fixed but to say that health insurance was ever affordable and wasn't going up 10% a year before this legislation is a lie.
