He's had 2 straight games where he's looked pretty off but overall I'm a pretty big fan. He's unquestionably a starter in the league and I think he could be a top 8-10 starter.

Reggie-Dre-KCP-Stanley is a pretty damn solid young core. KCP had really started to look like he was maturing, I hope he's back soon. Finishing better and hitting floaters instead of settling for his 3.

I need to be more positive. I don't think we are playing any better at the halfway point than we did at the beginning. As a young team we should be getting better. We've, at the very least, plateaued and I don't see who is going to get better to improve the team.

It's an extremely young team though, moreso than I realized until I just looked at our roster again.

Reggie = 25
KCP = 22
Dre = 22
Stanley = 19
Marcus Morris = 26
BJ = 26
Illyasova = 28, Tolly = 30 and Baynes = 29 are the only outliers int he rotation and they're not dinosaurs.

But do you think we could win a title with Illyasova? He's a good player. I actually kind of like him, but don't think he's a championship caliber 4.

Dre is a beast at times, but man he seems like he has some serious flaws too.


I just think this roster needs some work. It might take trading Reggie or Dre. I guess that would be an all out overhaul. I don't think trading BJ and an expiring is enough to take the 'next step'.


At least there is another half of the season to go. Plenty of time to evaluate. I just don't even stress anymore if I miss a game. Feel like we've topped out even with our age.

You guys see the Jennings for Thad Young rumor? I agree that Ilyasova is better as a 7th man. But we're not contenders this year anyways, so biding time with him is okay until we can upgrade at his spot.

Yeah, Illya and Morris are the obvious upgrades but presumably Stanley takes the 3 eventually and we upgrade the 4 somehow. Some combination of Morris/Illyasova wouldn't be the worst player ever to start on a contender either but that would take a ton of development from the other 4 guys.

Mostly though it's just nice to have an actual 'team' instead of just a collection of players.

Dre and Monroe were awful together.

So after reading up on the BJ for Thaddeus thing...it said that they would pay BJ. Even though its all rumors, are they talking a max deal? I like BJ a lot but he isn't getting a max, is he? I mean from other teams.


Every player on the roster should be on the table except KCP, imo. I'm not glad he's hurt but if it means he won't be traded, I'm ok with him taking some time off.

Reggie is only good when the Pistons are down 20 pts and he jacks up a bunch of shots and gets hot sometimes. Other than that, he doesn't make his teammates better and he's pretty wild at times.

But is it unrealistic to wish for your max center to be able to have range out to 12' or even 8' or to be able to at least look coordinated when shooting a ft?


Don't get me wrong, we sign him to max deal. But if I'm SVG, everyone is on the table to make the team better. RJ won't be traded either, but if we could trade RJ for a great 4 that has some range, I'd think long and hard on that one. Sign BJ with KCP, SJ, our new great 4 and bump on the log at center. We need a more prolific 4.

Just glanced at our schedule just for Ws and Ls from the beginning of the year and broke into first 10 games, 2nd 10, etc. Seems like we've pretty much been a 5-5 team from the beginning of the year. No real improvement. I thought maybe we started out the suck and then gradually improved. Not so.

We've definitely regressed which is pretty concerning.....but also I think our shooting and assist numbers have actually gone UP at the same time which doesn't make much sense. In general I think we 'got lucky' a bit to win as many games as we did early and now that's starting to even out. Reggie's looked pretty off for about 3 weeks now, hoping the ASB fixes that.

This is kind of why I feel we might need to do something a lil more drastic than just adding a so-so player. We can take the 'wait n see' how we progress as a young team or pull the trigger on something more. I'm in the do something more camp at this point. Its a camp of 1!

Yeah I think if we try to force it it will ruin it. They're not '1 impact player away' yet so rushing it might just kill the chemistry they're hopefully building. Need the bench to fill in more, Stanley to grow into a starter role, etc. Heck, Stanley is probably our most tradeable asset after Dre but I don't want him to go, that's for sure.
