I like west coast trips: if nothing else I get something to watch late at night. I'm looking forward to seeing how the Wings can handle it without the captain.

I feel like they've lacked a sense of urgency or whatever it is they say. They skate and get shots but they aren't finishing well, they're making lots of sloppy mistakes and they've had two games with both their goalies not making big saves but giving up big rebounds.

I can't believe Tahoe's not here to make me eat some shit. There was no doubt that Mrazek should have been the starter. I felt he fizzled a bit at the end but Howard, other than 2 freaky great games, totally collapsed.

The Lightning are NOT a playoff team. Must be 'cause of the prez they got but they were channeling their 90's Red Wings just shooting everything from far out and never possessing the puck low where the game is today. Mrazek was great but he saw the puck every time and had angles on everything (he was awesome at that last night). I think the Wings did a lot of what they wanted. They played poorly but they did keep Tampa Bay away from the net and did well on the PK from all the stupid penalties.

I don't get how no one ever talks about Dekeyser. My latest theory is it just shows how amazing he is that you never notice him. He's our best hope for an elite D, he cut off an open lane to the goalie and took the puck away in one move from some dude last night. It was my third favorite play of the night.
