View Full Version : Is it time for a trade?
Tahoe 01-15-2014, 05:49 PM Is it time to break up the 3 headed monster and trade Monroe?
Too early? Give it at least a season? Joe fucked up another FA signing, signing Smiff?
Tahoe 01-15-2014, 05:49 PM I fuckin hate this team.
Tahoe 01-15-2014, 05:51 PM Or I should say I hate losing. NOT FUN TO WATCH!
Is BJ our long term answer at PG?
Vinny 01-15-2014, 06:52 PM I think Monroe has needed to go for a while now. He is too slow and I think he's actually overrated. Move him before his value falls off.
Glenn 01-15-2014, 08:59 PM Pistons trade:
Joe Dumars - G.M. (PER 6,000 calories/day)
Rockets trade:
Daryl Morey - G.M.
TRADE ACCEPTED

I know I'm the only one but I like my trade sending Monroe to the Knicks for Carmelo. I like Monroe but right now the Pistons absolutely should move him for just about anything of quality other than a PF or C and get Smith starting at the 4 already.

I just don't know if Melo fixes anything, especially on D. Would be a better fit though.
Oh yeah, your question is 15000% valid. My only thought would be that maybe Dre can clean up some of Melo's crap D. And the trade-off would be to have some definite go-to scoring as well has making Lebron and any other 3 play actual D.
But really this is more about addition via subtraction. I think Monroe should be moved and that Smith should go back to his natural position.
Uncle Mxy 01-16-2014, 08:33 AM Monroe reminds me of Millsap -- above average big, but with deficiencies that make him not quite worth the max.
Monroe needs to demand the ball from Brandon and JSmoove and he's not doing that.
Uncle Mxy 01-16-2014, 08:25 PM Zach Lowe at Grantland suggests we trade JSmoove, FWIW:

Tahoe 01-17-2014, 06:00 PM ^ I like the thought. It won't be hard to get on Dumars ass again for wasting cap space.
Glenn 01-17-2014, 06:43 PM The Pistons aren't boring anymore, at least. They play at an above-average pace after a decade-plus as one of the league’s snails, Drummond dunks a lot, and there is League Pass appeal in the sheer wackiness of the roster — the lefties, the hairstyles, the horrible jump shots, Mo Cheeks sitting with fans in the stands during game play.
The Pistons might be watchable again, but they’re still bad, and they’re bad in a very disturbing way.
Thought you'd chirp about those, but you prob didn't read it.

tl;dr
Timone 01-17-2014, 07:30 PM I'm sad that I even have to ask.

Its just another person who bought that narrative like you did. We're roughly half way through with 16 wins. So we should win more than last years 28. But with the higher expectations bringing on Smiff and BJ, this team is LESS FUN TO WATCH. They are more frustrating this year than last.
But stick with that kool aid, bro.

Is it time to trade Tahoe?
He's not tradeable right now. He's in rehab. Can't trade a poster on the PUP list.
Tahoe 01-17-2014, 08:46 PM If we somehow don't make the playoffs, I hope JoeD is fired. You've had your run Joe. Thanks. Don't go away mad, just go away.
Tahoe 01-17-2014, 10:17 PM Seems like maybe we could've ... I don't know...drafted Burke and let Knight go in a trade for nothing. Unless there's some salary bullshit and then just sign a FA 2g with the money we spent on smiff. We have harrelson, who I like, Singler is by far the most fundamentally sound player we have on the squad, in my limited knowledge of these dipshitz. Monroe, Dre, Harrelson, Singler, that dude from Australia or Austria...seems like we have enuf bigs.
Joe went and did it again.
Tahoe 01-17-2014, 10:22 PM I wonder if Gores would want to hire an old Laker like Rambus or some shit like that to be GM?
Tahoe 01-17-2014, 10:22 PM Or maybe he's done with player GMz.
Uncle Mxy 01-24-2014, 07:32 AM Monroe reminds me of Millsap -- above average big, but with deficiencies that make him not quite worth the max.
Monroe needs to demand the ball from Brandon and JSmoove and he's not doing that.
Do we want to pay an offensive player max money who's afraid of demanding the ball, even when his coach gives him a clue-by-four?
Coach Maurice Cheeks suggested Monroe might want to ask point guard Brandon Jennings for more touches.
Monroe said that’s not his style: “Nah, I’ve never done that. ... It’s tough to go there and say that.”

Vinny 01-24-2014, 09:49 PM Lol, is that quote for real?? Who the fuck is the Coach!!!
Jesus christ, if it's not time for a trade it's definitely time for a tirade.
Uncle Mxy 01-25-2014, 02:59 AM Yeah, there's no lack of dumbass at the coaching end, but I think this is more telling about Monroe.
He needs to demand the ball, especially from a PG taking the most shot attempts and shooing <40%.
This isn't fucking rocket surgery.
