Let's be honest with ourselves - Mark Dantonio greatly benefitted due to the fact Michigan had a mental midget coaching them for three years. He was able to get some recruits that Michigan would normally nab and play with little competition for three years. So I want to propose a question to you:

If Michigan would have hired a solid coach instead of Rich Rod, would Mark Dantonio still have a job?

I say no. The only reason this guy has had any success is because Michigan shit the bed for three years.

I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head there Motown. He probably would have gotten an extra year out of sympathy after he had that heart attack (seriously, what kind of coach has a heart attack??? LOL!) but he'd certainly be on his last legs by now.

At the rate things are going, he would be lucky to land a job like South Dakota State. He's not even going to be Jackrabbit material in a couple of years. At least the Jackrabbits have some offense currently.
