View Full Version : BRANDON JENNINGS TO THE PISTONS!@# Glenn 07-16-2013, 01:21 PM I'm hearing things. DrRay11 07-16-2013, 01:48 PM I am too. Air conditioner's running and my fingers are killing this keyboard. Timone 07-16-2013, 02:52 PM I'm lost. DrRay11 07-16-2013, 02:55 PM Brandon Jennings. Glan's hearing things, likely unsubstantial other than he wants out and we need a PG. Timone 07-16-2013, 03:21 PM Thanks! Vinny 07-16-2013, 04:44 PM Please no. Higherwarrior 07-16-2013, 04:56 PM not a good fit IMO. I think it's all talk since Jennings just said he doesn't want to go back to the bucks. no way on earth i'd pay him $12 mil a year. Pharaoh 07-20-2013, 04:08 AM Sign and trade with Milwaukee... we lose Stuckey... Jennings gets a 3 yeard deal with a flat rate of $6.5 mil.... 2nd and 3rd seasons at our option :-) Timone 07-30-2013, 05:18 PM @InsideHoops 27s A sign-and-trade deal may send Brandon Jennings to the Detroit Pistons, reports ESPN and Yahoo. #NBA DrRay11 07-30-2013, 05:18 PM NOOOOO! STOP HEARING THINGS, GLAN! Timone 07-30-2013, 05:22 PM http://25.media.tumblr.com/f6cf6332e19227e07e7645adeb1b3cb1/tumblr_mksghkBIrU1s5jwlco1_500.gif TK 07-30-2013, 05:27 PM http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--pistons-to-acquire-brandon-jennings-in-sign-and-trade-deal-211830240.html He's no Luigi, but he'll do. TK 07-30-2013, 05:28 PM Man, scooped again. Timone 07-30-2013, 05:32 PM Sounds like Knight's gone. Bubbles rejoices. Glenn 07-30-2013, 05:34 PM I'm hearing things. #sources Glenn 07-30-2013, 05:35 PM What the hell, depending on the contract and what we ship out, this could be fun. Please include Stuckey and/or CV. DrRay11 07-30-2013, 05:35 PM Hearing Knight is part of the deal. Glenn 07-30-2013, 05:36 PM Ugh. Timone 07-30-2013, 05:40 PM Slava, Knight and Middleton for Jennings. Jethro34 07-30-2013, 05:44 PM 3 yrs, $24 million. I don't think he's a real point guard, but I suppose it's an upgrade over Knight and neither Middleton nor Kratsov are rotation players. That's not a terrible contract. I just hope Chauncey can turn Jennings into a leader and he's not a locker room cancer. DrRay11 07-30-2013, 05:44 PM 3 yrs, $24 million. I just hope Chauncey can turn Jennings into a leader and he's not a locker room cancer. My thoughts as well. TK 07-30-2013, 05:45 PM ima miss my dead gay knight... Higherwarrior 07-30-2013, 06:09 PM i'm torn. part of me loved knight's intangibles and potential so I hate to see him go so early on. I think he really could have turned the corner. Jennings is an instant upgrade and could really help elevate this team to a serious playoff team- in a best case scenario. but he's a guy who can't guard anyone and is very streaky. I would've preferred a different deal that didn't involve knight. but I guess i'll wait to see what we do with stuckey and CV's expiring deals before I get too mad. CindyKate 07-30-2013, 06:15 PM Hello Siva!? Higherwarrior 07-30-2013, 06:16 PM the 3 for 1 deal opens up a couple of roster spots. just saying..... Higherwarrior 07-30-2013, 06:21 PM gotta say though. dumars is slowly but surely really putting together something to be excited about. the expiring deals of stuck and CV could either net us another big FA next year or be used in a trade to acquire a prized piece of the puzzle to take us to an even higher level. i'm excited but sad to lose knight, as inconsistent as he's been. Tahoe 07-30-2013, 06:43 PM The one player that I didn't want to go out of the 3, is Kravtsov(sp?). But we have plenty of bigs on our roster. Also, mark me down as SMFH at these peeps talking about CBill turning this guy or that guy into a great PG or something. Fuck CBIll. Piston's fan keep posting about how fuckin great CBIll is. Ok, let me vent for a minute. He's a fuckin clown. He didn't do shit before he got here and hasn't done shit sense. We'd be deep in the 4th quarter and a timeout was called cuz he couldn't get a play going and he'd stay on the court tossing up little layups and shit till he decided it was time to go to the bench. Dude is NOT what you think he is. He had a great roster and we were hungry and 'WE' won a title. NOT HIM! The fuckin team did. Seriously, this facination with this clown is unbelievable to me. If he was sooooooo fuckin good we should have won another title. And all his bullshit about being hurt that he left. Fuck you. He wanted to go to Denver. Fuckin clown. I can't believe how he's kept on this pedestal. Also, how do you spell pedestal. Fuck it. I can't believe how he's kept on this throne. He's a fuck douche nozzle, douche hose and bag all in one. ' Tahoe 07-30-2013, 06:45 PM Also, I don't know shit about Jennings but won't miss Knight one bit. Mr. Oobir 07-30-2013, 07:05 PM I think my favorite part of this trade is that the Pistons didn't give up the expiring contracts of Stuckey or Villanueva, so the team will still have some decent trade flexibility with them down the road. On its own, it's still an upgrade at the point, if only a mild one, and for a reasonable contract. Vinny 07-30-2013, 07:09 PM i'm torn. part of me loved knight's intangibles and potential so I hate to see him go so early on. I think he really could have turned the corner. They don't call him the best color man in the business for nothing folks! Glenn 07-30-2013, 07:11 PM Was tweeting with Hermy and he thinks Joe will hold onto Stuckey and CV and let them expire to assist in re-signing Monroe. Koolaid 07-30-2013, 07:46 PM Brandon Knight and Brandon Jennings are basically the same player. Knight a little more heart on defense, Jennings better at distributing to team mates. MoTown 07-30-2013, 07:52 PM Isn't Jennings a very me-first type of player? If that's the case, this doesn't really solidify my commitment to come back to the Pistons.... Glenn 07-30-2013, 08:29 PM Joe really needed to consider 'the wooing of MoTown' before making this deal. #fail Timone 07-30-2013, 08:31 PM MoTwon thinks Jennings is a WARRIOR. Koolaid 07-31-2013, 01:46 AM Isn't Jennings a very me-first type of player? If that's the case, this doesn't really solidify my commitment to come back to the Pistons.... he has been a chucker for all his career, doesn't necessarily mean he'd be one here though. Uncle Mxy 07-31-2013, 06:11 AM So JD pulls down his pants and gets a BJ? I suppose it beats eating too much BK. We have an immediate need for a backup C. Glenn 07-31-2013, 06:22 AM We have an immediate need for a backup C. Goodshill was talking Oden last night. We're over the cap now, though. TK 07-31-2013, 09:26 AM You guys, I think Billups is really gonna turn Jennings into a great PG. So happy Chauncey's back, you guys. BubblesTheLion 07-31-2013, 09:28 AM Brandon Knight and Brandon Jennings are basically the same player. Knight a little more heart on defense, Jennings better at distributing to team mates. Fucking, No. Most important to note, and I'll lead with this, he actually draws defensive attention. Something Knight hasn't done the entire time he has been here. Jennings can operate as the ball handler in the pick and roll, find the angle, and then attack it. Knight has not displayed ability to do so. He always looks tentative, picking bad spots to attack, and disrupts plays. Jennings has play making ability in the passing game. Knight rarely displays any of this. Jennings can finish with his dominant hand against half court defense. Knight is only a good finisher in transition. Jennings has a step back jumper to operate as the shooter in a pick and roll. Knight is a spot up/transition shooter that shoots poorly off the dribble. Jennings can make separation for his shot in traffic Knight can only shoot out of the offense. Jennings can ball-hawk defensively, and has consistently grabbed steals his entire career. Knight has never had any tangible effect on defense, aside from being excellent at sagging-off and appearing to be giving great defensive effort while never really altering shots or forcing turnovers. Other reasons. Jennings is better free throw shooter. Jennings is quicker and more agile. Jennings is confident (for better or worse) in his ability to be a scorer. Knight is taller. Is Bubbles Happy? Yes, fucking absolutely. We acquired a middle of the pack NBA starting PG that can run pick and roll with out bigs and get his own shot and we traded 2 role players and a D leaguer to get it. Everyone likes to ballwash Brandon about having all of this untapped potential, fuck that noise, Jennings has FAR more potential at every single facet of the game except for defense (size) and in that area he is already more productive anyway. Best of all, I don't have to listen to Piston fans ballwashing this fucker anymore. Fucking Joey Harrington of the Detroit Pistons bullshit. As for not having a backup C. Most teams don't even have a Center, let alone two of them, So I think we'll be fine. Mitchell has way more upside and should be getting that burn. DrRay11 07-31-2013, 10:01 AM Bubbs, all I can say is, I hope you're right. MoTown 07-31-2013, 10:44 AM Joe really needed to consider 'the wooing of MoTown' before making this deal. #fail If Joe would consult me we never would have signed Charlie V, Ben Gordon or Flip Murray. And Wally Szerbiak would be our starting SF. Uncle Mxy 07-31-2013, 10:52 AM KnHndbNPYi0 Uncle Mxy 07-31-2013, 11:05 AM The one player that I didn't want to go out of the 3, is Kravtsov(sp?). But we have plenty of bigs on our roster. Also, I don't know shit about Jennings but won't miss Knight one bit. I agree with Tahoe on these points. TK 07-31-2013, 11:07 AM Okay, so he's either a phenomenal talent or a total bag of shit. Sweet. BubblesTheLion 07-31-2013, 11:19 AM KnHndbNPYi0 A 2 guard based team has 2 guards that took inefficient shots, you don't say? Maybe they should have made Larry Sanders the focal point and his band of merry dead pylons in the front court. It is easier to take better shots as a PG when you have a strong front court. Our boy is certainly a chucker though, let him chuck up some lobs and see he enjoys that as much. Timone 07-31-2013, 05:35 PM Isn't Jennings a very me-first type of player? If that's the case, this doesn't really solidify my commitment to come back to the Pistons.... TRANSLATION: still don't care Tahoe 07-31-2013, 06:40 PM There's a good chance 'we' will be better cuz of this trade, but thats about as far as I'll go. Also, with Chauncey here, he can turn both Monroe and Drummond into HOFers. Tahoe 07-31-2013, 06:40 PM ^ Smiff too. Tahoe 07-31-2013, 06:42 PM We don't need a SG, CBill will turn one of our roster garbage into an All Star! Glenn 08-02-2013, 10:00 AM @BrandonJennings: I will be wearing #7 next year. Shout Kenny Anderson #Pistons Glenn 08-02-2013, 12:40 PM Sounds like Bucks at gonna waive Slava. Too bad we can't bring him back. Tahoe 08-02-2013, 01:49 PM Saw the headlines on that but didn't read the story. Can't we get him back after a certain period of time? I think we did this a couple of times 10 years ago or so, but rules might have changed. Koolaid 08-02-2013, 02:11 PM Saw the headlines on that but didn't read the story. Can't we get him back after a certain period of time? I think we did this a couple of times 10 years ago or so, but rules might have changed. I am pretty sure the rules have changed. Tahoe 08-02-2013, 02:42 PM Just read Perry Farrell's article and he said any team could claim him. But I dought he put much time into the rules. Krav would fill a huge hole for us. Tahoe 08-02-2013, 02:43 PM Originally I thought we had a lot of bigs but we really don't have center depth if Monroe plays the 4. Glenn 08-02-2013, 04:41 PM I was under the impression that new rules said you can't reacquire a player that you have traded for 1 year. Tahoe 08-02-2013, 06:29 PM ^ I goog'd it and could find nothing. Glenn 08-02-2013, 06:47 PM I think Joe pissed some people in league office off after Elden (and Lindsey?). Tahoe 08-02-2013, 06:56 PM ^ Was that who it was? Thats right. Seems like friggin Lindsey did it twice...lol. Tahoe 08-02-2013, 06:57 PM Was it Lindsey that Ainge took on so we could get RasWeed and then he came back? shags 08-02-2013, 07:55 PM Was it Lindsey that Ainge took on so we could get RasWeed and then he came back? Yup. And the reason for the change in rules was a totally, completely washed-up Gary Payton was traded from the Celtics to the Hawks, waived, and then re-signed immediately with Boston. Higherwarrior 08-04-2013, 10:07 PM http://www.freep.com/article/20130804/SPORTS03/308040127/detroit-pistons-brandon-jennings-rajon-rondo interesting thought if nothing else. Koolaid 08-05-2013, 04:05 AM http://www.freep.com/article/20130804/SPORTS03/308040127/detroit-pistons-brandon-jennings-rajon-rondo interesting thought if nothing else. I wouldn't trade anything of value for Rondo right now. I'd do a swap with filler and Jennings, but that isn't even legal for months anyway. Tahoe 08-06-2013, 11:00 PM Was this posted? If not, FUCK, finally something positive from this dipshit. I only call him a dipshit cuz you'd think he'd be a lil more grateful for having a team sign him when no other team had interest...apparently. http://www.mlive.com/pistons/index.ssf/2013/08/brandon_jennings_says_trade_to.html#incart_flyout_ sports Uncle Mxy 08-07-2013, 09:06 AM There was certainly interest, but just not at the $12 million/year he reportedly wanted (and wasn't worth). I want to have a soft spot for Jennings simply because he said "fuck you" to college and went to Europe. Tahoe 08-07-2013, 02:17 PM Oh, I thought he was turning down 8 per. He sounds like he's a lil bit headstrong. Thats ok as long as its directed at the other team. Jethro34 08-07-2013, 02:21 PM I agree with some of the hype articles written simply in that Smith and Jennings added to Drummond and Monroe make me far more likely to watch Pistons games this season (at least early on) than, say, 30 Rock on Netflix. That's not something I have been able to say for a few years (only replace 30 Rock with Arrested Development, etc). Glenn 01-13-2015, 10:27 PM http://deadspin.com/nothing-prettier-than-a-brandon-jennings-floater-1679272547 BubblesTheLion 01-19-2015, 09:26 PM Jennings is playing a lot closer to his peek than his valley these days. Fool 01-20-2015, 09:44 AM Bubbles was pretty dead on in this thread (the posts I reread anyway). Glenn 01-24-2015, 09:55 PM Achilles? Uncle Mxy 01-25-2015, 04:48 PM Achilles? He was on a tear... now it's torn. BubblesTheLion 01-27-2015, 11:28 AM He was on a tear... now it's torn. Thankfully, next season is his contract season in case he doesn't return to form. Also, my heart , it hurtssssssss Timone 02-27-2017, 08:31 AM Being waived by the Knix. Glenn 12-29-2017, 04:08 PM Seeing fans talking about re-signing him. Anybody seen this from a legit source? Uncle Mxy 08-02-2018, 12:24 AM Are there any fans who want to re-sign him? Mr. Oobir 08-02-2018, 02:41 AM He's cooked. Timone 08-02-2018, 03:29 AM He's cooked. Stick a fork in him, he's DONE!
