Beckham was one of those players that was slightly overrated but then called overrated so much he became under appreciated (ugh, I think I just channeled my inner Simmons). He earned my respect when he played for Madrid. He was purchased for marketing, was never allowed to play to his strengths and had to play much more defensively than he should have. He took a lot of shit and still played hard every game, never complaining once.
