View Full Version : Frank's out. Timone 04-18-2013, 01:55 PM According to Stein. Link's coming. Glenn 04-18-2013, 03:19 PM Kinda too bad. Another scapegoat for Dumars. What are they gonna do about it? Tahoe 04-18-2013, 04:23 PM I didn't think this move was necesary. Is this club run by an 8 year old or something? Tahoe 04-18-2013, 04:24 PM Joe should go before him, but Joe did draft Monroe and Andre. I'm really amped about Andre the Giant. Pharaoh 04-18-2013, 10:20 PM Joe should be next... Curry lasted 1 season, Johnny Q lasted 2, Frank lasted 2... Joe hired all those clowns and while he did draft Drummond and Monroe any one of us would have picked them when he did! Clearing cap space is great but all Joe did was correct his own mistakes We've got a new owner, will have a new coach, will have a bunch of new players... yet the man who has put together a sub-par roster for the last 6 seasons gets a free pass because he's an "Icon" for the Franchise? Joe needs to do the right thing and walk away. lospistones 04-19-2013, 11:04 AM Seventh head coach that Joe has fired. Koolaid 04-19-2013, 12:36 PM So who's next? I think and hope it's Avery Johnson. He almost got hired when Kuester ended up getting the job. Glenn 04-21-2013, 07:57 AM Izzo's in. Vinny 04-21-2013, 08:21 AM Fuck, meant to post that last night. [smilie=reporter.gi: DrRay11 04-22-2013, 06:41 PM Good riddance. Timone 04-22-2013, 08:14 PM My moles are telling me that McMillan could be in. I never did post that link, did I? Ha. Timone 04-22-2013, 08:16 PM Jeff Van Gundy rails against the Pistons for firing Lawrence Frank, citing Joe Dumars’ failures (http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-dont-lie/jeff-van-gundy-rails-against-pistons-firing-lawrence-173711156--nba.html) "Detroit Pistons basketball slogan: When the going gets tough, we fire the coach," Van Gundy said. "It's unbelievable. It's unbelievable. You know what surprises me, Chris? These new owners in Detroit have to be exceedingly bright to have made as much money as they have. And to be duped again that your G.M. tells you that the roster is good and the coach is bad ... what was the problem with Michael Curry? What was John Kuester? Now Lawrence. They run through coaches and they haven't even begun to address their problem. They have very little talent and very little basketball character. You combine that, you're going to be in a long rebuild. "I'm just surprised that when everybody acknowledges it's a player's league — everybody would agree with that — then the most important player or person in any organization is the person that picks the players. But we don't, as organizations, examine them. We just take the easy way out time and time again. You lose, the G.M. convinces the owner, 'We got good players. It's the coach's fault.' We fire the coach; we bring a new coach in; we continue to lose. We fire that coach, saying that 'We have better players.' It just goes on and on. It's typical and I can't believe that the Detroit owners fell for it. I just can't believe it." Timone 04-22-2013, 08:20 PM Jebus, love JVG but that pic is horrendous. He makes me even me look handsome. Glenn 04-25-2013, 07:31 PM Joe interviewed Lindsey Hunter. #smh Timone 04-25-2013, 07:50 PM Darvin Ham next? Tahoe 04-25-2013, 09:10 PM Joe interviewed Lindsey Hunter. #smh You gotta be kidding me! Alan Houston is who we should hire. Pharaoh 04-26-2013, 10:06 AM Thoughts on this Euro guy Joe is apparently considering? Uncle Mxy 04-26-2013, 11:14 AM Thoughts on this Euro guy Joe is apparently considering? I like the fact that he's an ex-con. Uncle Mxy 04-27-2013, 03:58 PM http://www.mlive.com/entertainment/detroit/index.ssf/2013/04/detroit_pistons_bad_boy_john_s.html When Salley chimed in on who he thinks would be the perfect candidate to be the Pistons next coach he mentioned that Pistons owner Tom Gores and team president and general manager Joe Dumars would get a guy who could make the team playoff-bound right away. "“I’m going to say one thing: Brian Shaw should be the next coach of the Detroit Pistons; Brian Shaw should be the next coach of the Detroit Pistons; Brian Shaw should be the next coach of the Detroit Pistons,” Salley said. “If they do (hire Shaw) guaranteed 50 wins.” Glenn 07-03-2013, 09:37 PM Highest paid assistant in the league, perhaps ever (Nets). Higherwarrior 07-03-2013, 10:34 PM let me just take a moment to point out that in reference to the quote earlier, JVG is a fuckin moron. I wouldn't listen to a word he says. he made no sense in his little rant. we have a new owner so it's not surprising we go for a new start. and those past coaches- where are they now? exactly. joe surely was not saying 'we have the players to win, it's the coach that's the problem'. JVG is alleging that joe is passing the buck and making the coach the scapegoat. that's ridiculous and not the situation that went down at all. we are all dumber for having listened to JVG's nonsensical statement. done Vinny 07-04-2013, 02:48 AM Thanks for clarifying. |
