i still love beasley's talent, he could be a really good reclamation project. won't cost a whole lot so there's little risk, but possible high reward. i'd say the same for gerald green. but where is the roster room? we had better make some trades to free up roster space.

j-max, stuckey, and prince are all eating up roster spots i'd rather use on young players developing for the future.

A good reminder of why I like you.

Stuckey's not old, and he's on a decent contract for his contribution.
Joe didn't pay him BG money for 5 years, and I'm happy about that.

Replace Stuckey with Bynum and CV, please.

Higherwarrior

stuckey's not old but his skill set is very much replaceable particularly at that cost. if he could learn to finish in traffic and consistently hit his J with range, i'd bump his value up a lot more. i like the kid but given where this team is, i feel we could better allocate his spot/salary with someone else. he's best as a 3rd guard but will probably start at SG for us.

i did say elsewhere i wanted us to amnest charlie v. and fast.

bynum is a capable 3rd stringer but i would agree that at this point, we would be better served opening up that roster spot to another younger player who has a better chance of being part of the rebuilding process, as opposed to a guy who is merely filling out the roster, more or less.

and Gla- you and i both know you like me for a lot more than my opinion on those players. ;)

I see Stuckey as the Stackhouse we'll trade for our next Rip at some point, but I'm not in too big a rush. We have bigger problems and question marks.

The only way that I'm down with Beasley is if we can con Kahn into taking some of our trash in a S&T, Charlie & Daye?

Stuckey to Minny for Ridnour and Beasley (signed to a 3 year deal starting @ $5 mil) works for me

Worst case scenario we get a $5 mil trade chip that some may still believe (after 12 months with us) has "potential"

Drummond/Euro/Gates
Monroe/Jerebko/Maxiell
Prince/Beasley/Middleton
Maggette/Daye/English
Knight/Ridnour/Bynum

Looks like Toronto wants to overpay Landry Fields.

Timone
07-04-2012, 07:06 PM
Is that Landry "Out in the" Fields or Landry "The Killing" Fields?

Nobody's more American than Chris Berman. Ha!

Glenn

Bet you anything that Berman would roll with Landry "Strawberry" Fields.

The 76ers have decided to use the amnesty clause on Elton Brand and the $18M left on final year of his deal, league sources tell Y! Sports.

Uncle Mxy
07-06-2012, 03:38 PM
Why amnesty Brand? I'm having a hard time believing that someone won't take an expiring overpaid big who can still play. The Sixers don't have big salaries besides Iggy. <confused>

Pharaoh

Blatche is an interesting option - dude has talent and if he ever gets his head sorted he could be a dangerous frontcourt weapon

Based on what I've read that's one big IF though
