Pharaoh 05-26-2012, 09:03 AM Do we have any hope of making a game changing trade with the pieces we have?
Any combo not including Monroe and Knight that we could deal to get something of note?
Or are we just gonna shuffle the deck chairs on this Titanic?
mercury 05-27-2012, 12:48 PM Good assets... 1st round Pick, Stuckey
Fair assets... JMax expiring, Bynum exp, Tayshaun, JJ, BG (last two years of deal).
Vinny 05-27-2012, 06:05 PM I'd trade night, he looks very good but not special. Only in a blockbuster though of course.
Glenn 05-30-2012, 04:56 PM Dwight Howard regrets his decision to forgo his early termination option on his 12-13 contract, according to sources
Howard seeks a trade before next season and his camp is applying pressure on the Magic to pursue a deal as soon as a new general manager is in place.
Several GM candidates have been creating trade scenarios involving Howard and proposing them to CEO Alex Marins during the interview process.

Also, Apparently Deron Williams has told the Nets that if they don't get Dwight, he's leaving.
The thought is that if the Nets win the #1 lottery pick, they'll deal it to the Magic for Howard. They also apparently think they'll accomplish this without giving up Lopez.
Glenn 05-30-2012, 05:00 PM @DeronWilliams
I would love to know who Adrian Wojnarowski source is bc he knows more about what I'm thinking then I do, maybe they can help me decide?

Pharaoh 12-10-2012, 04:41 AM IMO Tayshaun Prince should be on the list of players that need a change of scenery.
Dude has been here his whole career, experienced some great times, won a championship and now is in the twilight of his career...
surely he doesn't want to waste his last few years on a rebuilding team that can't even make the playoffs in East?

Cleveland — Whenever a TV camera has panned to Pistons forward Tayshaun Prince over the past few years, his expression has been one of frustration — you could almost say of impatience — and he often made no bones about voicing the truth as he saw it.
If fans take a long, hard look at Prince now, they'll see a tough exterior has softened, in a sense. The voice of truth still says the same things, but Prince's approach has definitely changed.
He's making sure some of the younger players "get it," pulling the likes of Andre Drummond and Brandon Knight to the side to make sure they understand concepts, intricacies and specifics but being constructive.
"A lot of times I'm not overly aggressive with it," Prince said of this year compared to previous seasons. "But I'll pull them to the side and let them know, because just the coaches' point of view isn't going to help. They need guys who are out there on the floor with them as well. I'm trying to help as much as I can.
"Just trying to help the young guys out, we have a lot more of them playing. We're doing different things and they're confused, especially on the defensive end."
Mr. Sunshine? No, he's just as honest and to-the-point as ever. When a 17-point Pistons lead against the Bulls was cut to 11 in the first half Friday night, most would term that a bump in the road. But the scowl returned to the 11-year veteran's face, knowing his team was letting a game slip away.
"At that time we turned the ball over," Prince said. "I was upset when you're playing against a team like Chicago, momentum can change in a heartbeat."
He was right, and the Pistons suffered a heartbreaking loss in a season that's had too many of them already — and wasn't afraid to say his team's pattern of giving up big leads was becoming alarming.
"As games keep happening like this, it's going to continue to get more mental," Prince said. "At the beginning I would say no but as we continue to be in the same situation, it definitely starts to. You have to break that barrier."
Usually the smartest guy in the room is two steps ahead of everybody, possessing a sense of clairvoyance that even coaches don't see. Imagine being smarter than the person who's supposed to lead you, i.e. former coach John Kuester. An ominous sense of negativity probably should've been more expected than a surprise.
He's usually "that guy" in every room he walks into — a factor that could turn into more of a burden if not processed properly.
"I'd say he's changed," Pistons forward Charlie Villanueva said. "When I first got here, it was Body (Ben Wallace) and Rip. But he knows what it takes to win and he's taken that responsibility of being vocal."
And he's producing, doing it as efficiently as he has in years with his usual low-maintenance style, considering he entered this season healthier than after last year's lockout.
"Last year was a thing where all year I wasn't 100 percent. I got a taste of what other guys feel," Prince said. "I feel better, I still have a couple of nagging injuries from Orlando. Other than that, the body feels fine."
His numbers never have jumped off the page (12.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists) but his 3-point shooting (career-high 46 percent) and field-goal shooting (46.5) are above his career averages.
"He's a model of consistency through his career. He's had a super season to this point," Pistons coach Lawrence Frank said. "It's easier to have a vet that's producing to help others than a vet who's not producing. In order to be listened to they have to see you doing it."
Subsequently it means his voice will hold more weight off the floor, behind closed doors.
"Tayshaun has been very vocal about that (wanting me to play)," said Villanueva, with an increased emphasis on "very." "All of the guys were very supportive of my situation and when my chance came I made the most of it."
While others have made a habit of beating up Villanueva for how he played in garbage time before getting a spot in the rotation, Prince saw differently — although he refuses to take any credit for Villanueva's insertion.
"When he got in the game late, he hasn't looked his normal self," Prince said. "Like I told Coach, guys get in the game at that time, they're not themselves anyway. Once a guy gets in a game when it matters, his confidence level picks up and starts to do things harder."
As with any embattled teammate, Prince offered support — but seems to be doing it in a quieter, less drama-inducing, kind of way. Villanueva has scored in double figures in five of the nine games where he's gotten minutes.
"My whole thing was, when I talked to (Frank), we're 3-11, let's give guys a shot when things were going south to see if they can uplift our spirits and we can feed off that energy," Prince said. "Me, who always visualizes what's going on in the game, I wanted to voice my opinion. I didn't name any names, I just said in general, just to get our energy going."
Now, as opposed to possibly being viewed as a player comfortably riding it out, Prince's 180 is showing he's completely vested in this team's present —and future.
"(We) just want to get better and put ourselves in position to win games," he said. "I'm just trying to play good ball and stay healthy."

Pharaoh 12-10-2012, 07:16 AM Keep waiting bro - my head ain't gonna explode...
My train of thought is gonna derail your shit though :)
Mr Goodshill should have called his article "Holy Nova... The Palace Prince IS Redeemed!"
The start of the article sets up the story he wants to tell:
Whenever a TV camera has panned to Pistons forward Tayshaun Prince over the past few years, his expression has been one of frustration — you could almost say of impatience — and he often made no bones about voicing the truth as he saw it.
If fans take a long, hard look at Prince now, they'll see a tough exterior has softened, in a sense. The voice of truth still says the same things, but Prince's approach has definitely changed.
So.. we (Pistons organisation) acknowledge Tayshaun's rep ain't what it used to be... but please believe us, he's changed!
It's a bullshit redemption piece for a dude that is (rightly or wrongly) viewed by some as a whiny cunt
The article claims Tay is such a great fucking leader for our youth.. but is he?
Tayshaun has been very vocal about that (wanting me to play)," said Villanueva, with an increased emphasis on "very." "All of the guys were very supportive of my situation and when my chance came I made the most of it."
Great leadership on display there. Prince is advocating giving minutes to guys who don't play hard in garbage time because "they're not themselves" AND he wanted Nova rewarded with important minutes despite the fact he didn't play hard during garbage time!!
What kind of message is our leader sending there?
BTW, Goodshill is not content with trying to redeem Tayshaun's rep he gotta talk about how great Nova is too? WTF?
And if you were in any doubt whatsoever that this was all about redeeming Tasyahun check the money shot:
Now, as opposed to possibly being viewed as a player comfortably riding it out, Prince's 180 is showing he's completely vested in this team's present —and future.
And you bolded it for me Kstat! That's awesome, but I don't need bold shit to make my point.
This "reporter" is a hand puppet for the organisation. This article appears for a reason.
You can think the reason is so us fans can be enlightened on what a good soldier Prince is now he's had his late career crisis
I think it's a puff piece put out there because Joe Dumars has no fucking intention of trading Tayshaun Prince...

Higherwarrior 06-27-2013, 06:21 PM kind of a weird move by the nets IMO. ok so maybe they'll win 50 games or so for the next 2 years. can they do anything beyond the first round? not likely. then they're stuck without three first rounders in years where they'll probably end up back in the lottery again.
I don't get it. they need a lot more than rapidly aging, overpaid veterans.

Higherwarrior 06-30-2013, 08:27 PM wow. interesting. that could take the raps out of the running for Bledsoe though, which would be nice. although I guess they still could offer derozan but I don't know that the numbers would work though.
Glenn 06-30-2013, 09:31 PM Wonder if Camby would rather retire than go back to Raps

Not a terrible idea really. Helps space for the SG and PG, which we need. Lets Rudy iso on the wing effectively. Actually crazy enough to work. It is kind of killing two birds with one stone as far as solving the SF problem and PG problem. Knight gets to focus more on shooting and just making good decisions instead of being a playmaker.
Not sure if Toronto is for it, but it never really made sense for them to pick up Gay in the first place.
Koolaid 07-03-2013, 02:27 AM the really cool thing about the gay trade is that it would still leave cap room for another good player or two.
Higherwarrior 07-03-2013, 06:19 AM wow that would be insanely awesome. which is why it probably won't happen.
BubblesTheLion 07-03-2013, 08:30 AM Another bonus, even though Gay's contract is ridiculous, it is only 2 more years. Giving Detroit the choice of letting him walk or resigning Monroe(QO)/Drummond(PO)/Knight(TO).

It's unclear if the Kings have completely ruled out the possibility of matching the offer, but they are currently working on a sign-and-trade with the Pelicans in which Evans would go to New Orleans while Pelicans point guard Greivis Vasquez would go to Sacramento and Pelicans center Robin Lopez would go to the Portland Trail Blazers. It's unclear what Portland would give up in the deal, but it is not done and Sacramento is still considering other trade scenarios. USA Today Sports
