I guess it wouldn't be an early Wings playoff exit without at least one Tahoe post blaming it all on Howard. It's a Wtfdetroit tradition.

Babcock blamed the forwards. So do I. Let me count the ways:

So many of the Preds goals came on rebounds and especially trailers and extra guys jumping in the play. The Wings forwards never looked to pick them up. They sucked at picking up Nashville the entire series.
At the same time the Wings had very few of those types of chances. I'm sure there were way more times that the Predators had those types of opportunities, plus just guys standing alone in the slot, than the Wings. And when the Wings did have those types of opportunities they missed them. That reason alone is why the whole shot differntial thing is bullshit.
They very rarely pressured down low. That means they didn't get to the Predators defense when they had the puck and tire them out. At the same time, with the exception of Bertuzzi, they never tried to consistently cycle the puck down low. There were some moments, but most of the time they came up higher along the boards and sent it to the point. That's exactly what the Predators wanted.
They flat out didn't skate enough. Too many slow starts and waaaayyyy too much coasting with the stick out instead of skating at the guy.

At the same thing Babcock should take some of the blame. His job is to get this team to start quickly and play defense along the length of the ice. He's still an awesome coach and shouldn't even be in the warm seat yet. But he has to shoulder some of the blame.

I would turn over at least a third of the forwards. I would keep Datsyuk, Zetterberg and Bert for sure. We'll have the cap to take on Parise or another top FA. But I'd really like to see them get younger and stronger (bigger would help that).
