Contract negotiations should be confidential anyway and leaking trade proposals that never happened could backfire in a big way.

It's best to have a company man put a positive spin out there for the homers, knowing that real fans know the real dal and are looking to the Draft for help.

I would really love to read Gores or Joe actually say that the team plans on building through the Draft, is planning on acquiring future first round picks and cap flexibility...

It's the story they should be selling... hope for a better future! They could sell that and still praise the efforts of the current roster, especially sdince Monroe, Stuckey, Knight and Jerebko figure to be here for the next 3-5 years.
