...am i the only one who doesn't like them? i don't eat fast food that often (well, i try not too), but i tried the Angus burger. the meat tastes like those frozen salisbury steak dinners. i like the whopper MUCH better. i know the whopper meat isn't much either, but it just tastes better to me.
so, am i the only one who doesn't really like those Angus burgers?
Anthony 03-04-2006, 05:13 PM You crazy, dawg. I loved those. They tasted good to me. They need mushrooms, and more onions and sause though [smilie=2thumbsup.g:
Black Dynamite 03-04-2006, 05:16 PM I didnt care for them myself. In fact i havent been to burger king in probally a year or 2.

Glenn 09-19-2011, 04:28 PM Wendy's 'remakes' burger to meet competition (http://www.wzzm13.com/rss/article/179531/14/Wendys-remakes-burger-to-meet-competition)

geerussell 09-19-2011, 06:16 PM Wow, that article required a lot of reading before finally getting to what the changes are:
Tasters said they wanted a thicker burger, so Wendy's started packing the meat more loosely, trained cooks to press down on the patties two times instead of eight and printed "Handle Like Eggs" on the boxes that the patties were shipped in so they wouldn't get smashed. And Wendy's researchers knew that customers wanted warmer and crunchier buns, so they decided that buttering them and then toasting them was the way to go.
In the end, Wendy's changed everything but the ketchup. It switched to whole-fat mayonnaise, nixed the mustard, and cut down on the pickles and onions -- all to emphasize the flavor of the beef. The chain also started storing the cheese at higher temperatures so it would melt better, a change that required federal approval.
Looks good on paper.
WTFchris 09-19-2011, 06:39 PM I thought they were making them round when I saw the title of the thread.
I like their new fries, but why do they put so much salt on them? They changed those to be healthy, but you don't have to douse with salt. Just keep the packets there for those that need the extra salt.
Glenn 09-19-2011, 06:40 PM If they refuse to add mustard on mine, it's a deal breaker.
geerussell 09-19-2011, 06:58 PM I assume they just changed the standard toppings and didn't stop offering mustard as an option. I agree that'd be a dealbreaker and kind of nuts.
Vinny 09-19-2011, 07:05 PM Wendys burgers were the best, better than McD's or BK at least. I think this is a bit of fixing the carpet to try to keep the roof from leaking.

DrRay11 09-19-2011, 08:06 PM I always wondered why Wendy's didn't do breakfast.
Glenn 09-20-2011, 02:23 PM Okay, who is going to be he first to try one and give a review?
I need feedback.
DrRay11 09-20-2011, 03:06 PM if there's one anywhere nearby (Vinny or b-diddy have a clue? I'm right by Wrigley) I might try one tonight.
DrRay11 09-20-2011, 07:57 PM can't really notice the difference on the buns or anythign else, but the patties are thicker and a little greasier/juicier. Still got dam delicious.
DrRay11 09-20-2011, 07:59 PM maybe even better. Hard to tell. If you don't mind a little more grease on your hands, definitely better tasting.
DrRay11 09-20-2011, 08:13 PM I want another one.
Vinny 09-20-2011, 08:51 PM Which one'd you go to? Western/Irving?
DrRay11 09-20-2011, 08:54 PM google maps said the one on Ashland was closer. it's on a terrible spot to get out of back towards my place though so I'll go to the one on Western/Irving next time
DrRay11 09-21-2011, 02:29 PM warning: may cause minor case of the shits the following day
Vinny 09-22-2011, 12:00 AM whew. still wendy's then.
Glenn 09-22-2011, 01:37 PM Going for it.
Glenn 09-22-2011, 01:49 PM Didn't seem any different to me, really.
DrRay11 09-22-2011, 03:17 PM seriuosly? The patties were the only difference I noticed, definitely a little more volume and juice.
Glenn 09-22-2011, 04:23 PM Made with juicier, thicker beef. Buttered, buns. And PREMIUM toppings, Wendy's Hot 'n Juicy Cheeseburgers really make you tear up the john.
DrRay11 09-22-2011, 08:13 PM lol. did you get one? seriously, they destroyed my innards. I was still shitting and gassy as fuck last night.
Glenn 09-22-2011, 09:00 PM Had a single without issues. So far.
DrRay11 09-22-2011, 09:15 PM had two spicy five piece nuggets, too. might have had something to do with it.

Timone 09-22-2011, 09:37 PM New band name. Thx.
Glenn 09-23-2011, 06:52 AM Holy farts!
I put on a display for my wife similar to the 4th of July this morning.
These are the good times.
geerussell 09-24-2011, 05:52 PM Tried it yesterday, I think it's a good improvement. Went for the standard issue double cheese combo.
The meat was noticeably better, the mayo was decent and the toasty buttery action on the bun was good. Overall it's my new favorite shitty meal to get in a drive thru. I mean that a little nicer than it sounds.
On the negative side, the cheese was kind of invisible. A couple bites in I pulled it open to see if they'd forgotten to add it but there was definitely a yellowish cheese-like substance there. I'll probably order it without the cheese next time, no point if it's just lube.
Also, the shits struck within hours. WTF, wendy's? Maybe that cheese-ish stuff was a laxative.
Oh and the price. It's been a while since I ate there so maybe this is old news but $8.05 for a large double combo? It's not that good. Approaching $10 is about the point where I'd rather go somewhere I can have a pint with my burger.
DrRay11 09-25-2011, 01:44 AM I didnt' get cheese. Poo still went to town
Glenn 09-25-2011, 07:36 AM ^

Uncle Mxy 10-03-2011, 09:23 AM Had a burger at Wendy's over the weekend, because of this thread.
It did not rock my world any more or less than the old Wendy's burger.
Glenn 10-12-2011, 04:30 PM Just won one of these on twitter, lol.
DrRay11 10-12-2011, 05:25 PM ship it to me.

Sandwich is so big I took me that long to finish it.
MikeMyers 05-17-2015, 06:02 PM I went to Smashburger today fam. Good burgers but the fries are the thin ones and not a big fan of those.
Timone 05-17-2015, 06:06 PM Never heard of that, fam.
MikeMyers 05-17-2015, 06:18 PM Its a franchise. I went to the location in Troy.
Timone 05-17-2015, 06:45 PM Looked it up, saw that there's one in WEST BLOOMFIELD. Must be big time.
MikeMyers 05-17-2015, 09:06 PM Obviously I didn't go to WEST Bloomfield. Peasants like me aren't allowed.

Glenn 08-25-2017, 03:34 PM If you are eating late some day, check out the $1 sliders from Arby's (from 2pm to 5 pm).
$3 lunch.
Mr. Oobir 08-25-2017, 06:49 PM I had chicken, beans and rice made in a crock pot. Very simple but also satisfying.
Timone 09-04-2017, 03:31 PM Not a KFC fan, but trying the Nashville Hot
MikeMyers 09-13-2017, 09:57 PM I had it in 2016 and it was ok. Oily as hell though.
Mr. Oobir 09-13-2017, 10:42 PM I found the Nashville and whatever was the other new chicken flavor (looking it up, Georgia Gold) to be too sugary. I liked the normal spicy chicken better.
Timone 09-16-2017, 12:13 PM couple slices of 'za and some goulash from this local place. Really good.
Tahoe 09-16-2017, 08:31 PM Goulash is great.
Do they have pierogis?
Timone 10-19-2017, 03:13 PM Been trying to tell myself that I hate Taco Bell, but just ate those new crispy chicken quesadillas. smh
