Detroit trades:
Greg Monroe
Charlie V.
Minny trades:
Beasley
Flynn
Randolph
#2 pick
As good as Monroe is, Detroit gets the #2 pick as well as a trio of youngsters. Detroit also unloads Charlie's contract. Minny gets a hell of a Center to put next to Love while not giving up any key pieces.

Three underachievers and the #2 pick in a crappy draft for probably the team's best draft prospect in the last decade and a decent scorer albeit overpaid just to cut some salary. No Thanks

Minny says no before we do. I actually might pull the trigger on this, trouble is Monroe can play the 5 and the value there is too much to give up for a guy who's telling teams he's only playing SF.

I do this.
Two #7 picks for two #2s, a #6, and a #14?
A 26/21 year old for 22/22/21/19.

A new wrinkle.
Detroit makes the trade and then sends the #2 pick and Maxiell (and maybe our early 2nd) to Cleveland for the #4 and J.J. Hickson (which is the deal supposedly offered to Minny).
With the #4 Detroit could get Kanter or Knight.
So.....
Detroit trades:
Monroe
CV
Maxiell
#33???
Detroit gets:
#4
Hickson
Flynn
Randolph
Beasley
Plus we still have our first.

Hickson played really well down the stretch last year.

Your first trade idea was shot down so you throw in a new "wrinkle"?
I like it lol
Sucks to lose Monroe but in the end he shouldn't be a deal breaker.
#4, Beasley, Flynn, Randolph and Hickson for Monroe, Nova, Maxiell and #33? Without a second thought
Young, athletic, full of potential = hope for the future.

If Monroe does turn out to be a great center, it will cripple us. At least when Darko sucked we were still winning. I would be even more bitter if we gave away a player that wanted to be a piston and played hard on both ends.

That's why trades like this just can't be done. Trading away a good, young, hard worker with a good attitude at a premium position would make the organization look even more clueless that we already do.
The marketing matters just as much as the stats and the salaries when considering trades.

Not to mention that Flynn is broken (and now traded elsewhere) and they've been trying to give Beasley away without luck.
Both probably have negative value.

I would take Beasley here in a heartbeat. Wonder if they'd take Stuckey at the two for him?

Stuckey is going to be a Piston until Dumars is gone or next season. Dumars as much as guaranteed it at his presser. The only question will be how much we get raped by. It will be nice to see at contract amount as it will show us how much power Joe D really has.

Why do you put draft #'s next to players already in the NBA? Those numbers mean nothing, only what they actually do in the NBA. Do you think teams are still counting on #2 pick production from Darko?
