The Golden State Warriors and Philadelphia 76ers have discussed a trade that would send the Warriors' leading scorer, Monta Ellis, to the 76ers for Andre Iguodala, (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=6633355) according to league sources, including one with direct knowledge of Golden State's thinking. Holly MacKenzie: For those asking: I've been told
more than once that the rumor of Flynn + #2 to Toronto for DeRozan + #5 is just
that -- a rumor (http://hoopshype.com/twitter_media.html). Twitter (http://hoopshype.com/twitter_media.html)

Love me some Holly.

Do you see any draft night trades happening??

Chad Ford (1:16 PM)
I think there will be a bunch. Teams are telling me that trade talk really started picking up on Tuesday. Cavs are looking at potential deals using the No. 4 pick and either Baron Davis or Ramon Sessions. Jazz looking for deals. Would be open to discussing Paul Milsap or Devin Harris. Wizards looking to add talent around John Wall. Pistons are being active. Rockets have been very aggressive (as they often are). Bucks have made draft day trades past 2 years and are being aggressive again.

The Pistons may take Walker if Valanciunas is not available. Would they be willing to get rid of Gordon and Hamilton to make room for Stuckey at the 2?

Chad Ford (1:20 PM)
I think just about everything is on the table for the Pistons. For the first time in two years, Joe Dumars no longer has his hands tied. They've going to be active. Gordon, Hamilton are their trade chips. They think Walker is a winner and would fit next to Stuckey in the backcourt if a big like Valanciunas is off the board.

GSW offered Monta, Biedrins & Udoh for Dwight Howard, lol.

That's the best GSW can do without throwing in David Lee. Can't blame them for trying.

Glenn

I can blame them. Zero percent chance that even got realistic consideration.

Lots of good stuff here, mostly about the #2, and Minny's interest in GORTAT.

Not a trade but eff it.

The Suns have long been expected to buy out Vince Carter's $18.3 million
final season for $4 million. Which could give Carter the chance to answer the
question of whether he ever really wanted to try to be a winner. Or just score
points. The Bulls will be one of the teams likely interested in Carter if
he is bought out — similarly with Richard Hamilton, who is less likely to be
bought out because he has two years left on his contract. The Bulls will be over
the salary cap, so they cannot offer Carter more than a minimum deal. (http://www.nba.com/bulls/news/smith_110620.html)
Currently, there is a mid level exception, which most don't expect to survive
the new collective bargaining agreement. So would Carter come to the Bulls for a
minimum when he can make much more, though with a lesser team? The advantage the
Bulls have is they can offer a starting job. Of course, Dallas likely could, as
well, on a minimum deal. The Heat could not. NBA.com (http://www.nba.com/bulls/news/smith_110620.html)

The Atlanta
Hawks (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/atl/) have started to gauge trade interest on forward Josh
Smith (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3834/)(notes) (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3834/news),
and Smith isn’t adverse to ending his seven-year stay with his hometown team,
league sources told Yahoo! Sports on Monday.

Smith hasn’t requested a trade, but has
privately told league friends that the Boston
Celtics (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/bos/), New Jersey
Nets (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/njn/),Houston Rockets (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/hou/)
and Orlando Magic (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/orl/) are his
preferred destinations should the Hawks decide to move him.

“The relationship has run its course,”
said a league source with knowledge of the dynamic.

That would take 5 secs for me to want us to make a move on. Charlie V, Bynum, and #8 and Smith. They save 1.5M this season and 2M the following. I would guess they would want a lotto pick an a huge expiring though.

Come on Joe work some fat ass magic. I got a bad feeling though we may not like the move he does if he even does one.

in order for them to take on charlie v's bad contract, i think they would insist jon konkak's contract be sent back to us. i believe it still counts against their cap.

Trade winds

The trade talks between the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers have traction for one simple reason: The exchange of Lamar Odom(notes) and Andre Iguodala(notes) could provide immense benefits to both teams.

The proposed deal – Iguodala for Odom and Luke Walton(notes) – would give the Lakers an elite wing defender for their championship chase. New head coach Mike Brown wants more athleticism in a younger player to pair with Kobe Bryant(notes) and Ron Artest(notes) to defend the likes of James, Dwyane Wade(notes) and Kevin Durant(notes).

One source involved in the talks said that Sixers coach Doug Collins “thinks Odom can play the [center] like [Mike] Krzyzewski had Odom doing in the world championships.”

Nevertheless, no deal was imminent, and the advanced and complicated sales talks make it harder for Sixers president Rod Thorn to pull off such a major trade, sources said.

ESPN has the Nuggets shopping Ray Felton, looking for a "Top 10 pick".

They need to move Felton IMO. It worked last year, but how long will he be happy off the bench? Nuggets really need a slasher/defender wing and also another big man (Kmart will be gone and who knows with Nene).
