b-diddy 05-25-2011, 11:02 PM white jeans: are they too metro or ok for a guy to wear? thinking about picking up a pair for the summer time but dont want to be taking grief from the fellas every time i wear them.
i have a casual green button down (something like this but not exactly)
http://thumbs1.ebaystatic.com/m/mY5EfPYBbSJmg7gUejjmqrw/140.jpg
that i think would juxtapose nicely with white jeans.
i also have a royal blue t-shirt that i think would look great with white.
my sense is that white jeans make it look like your trying a little harder to look nice, so a shirt that with blue jeans might look grungy (first shirt) or lazy (second) might be a little more stylish with white jeans.
also, if i get them, do i need to get a white belt?
also, if the army green shirt doesnt look right, i also have some good polos that might work, like a lime green.
im almost positive im going to the perfect place here.
Timone 05-25-2011, 11:07 PM I don't think we're going to be able to help you out. We're out of touch.
b-diddy 05-25-2011, 11:20 PM guys, memorial day is here, and my current look just wont work after this weekend!

White belt with white jeans is retirement wear. You shouldn't be wearing any shirt that shows your belt line with white jeans. Also, I wouldn't go to the bar with them. They are more "open air" wear. Bight airy colors around you will help them fit in more.
Vinny 05-26-2011, 12:03 AM I wouldn't do it, but that might mean you should.
Let me know if you need any advice on fashion baseball caps or urban white guy tennis shoes.
Glenn 05-26-2011, 05:33 AM I'm horrified.
Glenn 05-26-2011, 05:34 AM Yet I love the thread title.
b-diddy 05-26-2011, 09:02 PM im running in this big relay race next month and everyone on my team is wearing an old school nba jersey. everyone-- except me that is.
i just picked up this little number:
http://cgi.ebay.com/MICHIGAN-WOLVERINES-BASKETBALL-JERSEY-SIZE-M-ADULT-/320698721843?pt=US_Mens_Athleticwear&hash=item4aab222633#ht_500wt_922
have a feeling its going to work its way into my regular rotation. probably look sweet with white jeans, too.
b-diddy 05-29-2011, 10:57 AM just picked up a pair of these:
http://www.gap.com/products/res/mainimg/authentic-fit-jeans-whiskered-authentic-wash.jpg
wimped out and didnt go white.
gap 1969 authentic fit jeans. im probably switching to a new company that has no dress code, so wanted to pick up a pair of jeans that are a little more stylish and fit. the authentic fit are perfect, best jeans ive had. very fit, tailored look, but not skinny jeans.
girls are going to be going gaga when they see my keester in these.
got them for 50, which isnt cheap, but also not a bad deal for higher end jeans.
DrRay11 05-29-2011, 10:58 AM how is this not swatted
It should be swatted. This may be a "jump the shark" moment.
Vinny 05-29-2011, 12:03 PM girls are going to be going gaga when they see my keester in these.
Timone 05-29-2011, 12:11 PM I'm telling you, these things matter to girls.
DrRay11 05-29-2011, 12:12 PM 18 girls present
Timone 05-29-2011, 12:14 PM Maybe you're one of the good ole boys that doesn't give a shit about what b-diddy wears, understandable. But to the rest of us that like rocking tight gear and to the bros that want to do the same, this a huge deal.
Glenn 05-29-2011, 12:32 PM b-d,
Any advice for a super fly outfit for washing the car?
Vinny 05-29-2011, 12:33 PM Whose car will you be washing??
Glenn 05-29-2011, 12:39 PM Well, I didn't say "my car", did I?

b-diddy 05-29-2011, 01:32 PM b-d,
Any advice for a super fly outfit for washing the car?
tbro is right: if you got it, FLAUNT it.
howeva, if you dont got it, something a little playful would be appropriate.
whether washing your car, mowing your lawn, or sweeping your chimney, something turn of the century would fit the bill. and by turn of the century, i of course mean the 20th.

you could probably complete the ensamble at a macy's for well under 500$.
Glenn 05-29-2011, 01:58 PM Don't let the detractors in this thread get you down, brother, you just keep "coming out" with the great ideas.
b-diddy 05-29-2011, 09:48 PM hey!
Glenn 05-29-2011, 09:57 PM b,
What do you think of Tom Gores' personal style?

no.
i did almost pick up up a pair of dark blue pants with light blue pinstripes this weekend. when you match pinstripes with your shirt or accessories you really look sharp.
when you match a pinstripe suit with a polo your an idiot.
Uncle Mxy 05-30-2011, 08:11 AM This is a pic of the shirt I picked up yesterday:

I have a pair of those shorts in red (smaller squares though and isn't polo). I where it with t-shirts.

http://www.biddingforgood.com/umich/121943741/122215877.275.275.jpg
is it too bro to jog in this thing?
1) its hot, jogging in a tee is hard, and jersey material is practical
2) it'd be nice to get sun on upper arms
3) i look awesome in this thing. thing i might've got a look from some coaches had they known.
dont see anyone jogging in jerseys, but it seems practical to me.
Timone 06-01-2011, 10:03 PM If you're being too bro, you're still not being bro enough.
b-diddy 06-01-2011, 10:08 PM jersey + aviators + plad shorts + berks?
not exactly practical running gear but im not out there setting speed records or anything.
DrRay11 06-02-2011, 07:01 PM not sure if serious

picked up the tan version of these bad boys. i think the idea is to wear them sockless. i know the tricks... immaculate foot hypgiene, baby powder, baking soda, dont wear everyday, etc.
but im a sweaty dude. i use prescription stuff for my pits. my feet usually arent bad, but i fear what could become of this.
can i wear socks with these? think i'd be better off if i did.
You can wear dark socks with these. Ankle socks with shorts. Looks better w/o but won't be terrible with.
b-diddy 08-28-2011, 10:32 PM thanks. usually wear jeans, rarely shorts. so i can probably deal with sockless every so often.
dark socks with tan shoe and jean? definitely not white? i have alot of dress socks. blue, grey, green. do these work?
Uncle Mxy 08-29-2011, 11:25 AM sockless=stinkful in my experience
The only thing I do sockless with is my super-beat-up lawnmower shoes.
b-diddy 09-04-2011, 04:37 PM need new running shoes.
narrowed it down to these, not sure what color:
http://www.shoes.com/en-US/Product/EC1199466-5115740/Reebok/Silver_Blue_White/Men's+RunTone+Action.aspx
torn between white/blue and the black ones.
DrRay11 09-04-2011, 04:40 PM ugh. go get yourself fit for a pair and thank me later. style is not all-important when talking about running.
b-diddy 09-04-2011, 06:07 PM your completely right, of course. my last shoes fucked my knees up bad. my newest ones are fine on my knees, which is why i've kept them, but i've lost two toe nails, and my feet are covered with blood blisters. its pretty gruesome but i can handle that kind of pain fine.
shoes.com has a cool return policy, so im considering risking it. i know i should go to fleet feet or such and do it right, but i've been spending alot of money lately and dont feel like paying the premium.
thanks. usually wear jeans, rarely shorts. so i can probably deal with sockless every so often.
dark socks with tan shoe and jean? definitely not white? i have alot of dress socks. blue, grey, green. do these work?
You can match the sock to your shirt as long as it doesn't clash with the shoe color (but then you shouldn't be wearing that shirt with those shoes anyway) or you can match the sock to the pants (blue pants blue socks, grey pants grey socks). White socks won't go with the shoe no matter what else you are wearing. Any of those colors will work with jeans depending on the jeans and the shirt. Don't wear a yellow shirt with blue jeans green socks and the tan shoes (that kind of thing). But you should have plenty of range to work with tan is a fairly neutral color.
Need some new running shoes myself. feet are getting pretty tore up from my old Adidas. Anybody have an experience with non-shoe shoes? http://www.vibramfivefingers.com/products/Five-Fingers-Sprint-Mens.htm
b-diddy 09-05-2011, 10:13 AM people rave about them, but they look really stupid. to me, i couldnt do it. i saw someone walking in them yesterday (not exercising), and all i could think was "bukdow". and if your running on concrete, it doesnt seem like theyd have enough support, though i think they advertise to the contrary.
the thought behind them is that athletic shoes are designed to protect us, but they actually harm us, and that man was built to run barefoot. that may be true, but we werent meant to run barefoot on concrete. if you have access to parks with dirt/grass trails, fine. but if you run on primarily concrete, i wouldnt do it.
Glenn 09-05-2011, 10:15 AM HS Trask.
DrRay11 09-05-2011, 12:58 PM your completely right, of course.
YES.
DrRay11 09-20-2011, 04:05 PM Bros, I'm in need of a jacket for the fall. All of my jackets are old, cheap/college, and out-of-style. Any thoughts?

b-diddy 09-20-2011, 05:45 PM i do most of my shopping at norstram's rack and filene's basement.
filenes particularly has alot of good deals on jackets. if your thinking leather, i'd definitely start there.
Vinny 09-20-2011, 08:53 PM Seconding Nordstrom Rack. State/lakeish.
Glenn 09-20-2011, 08:55 PM Seconding Members Only.

DrRay11 09-20-2011, 09:14 PM Judging from Nordstrom Rack website, just a few coats there are something I'd be interested in/within budget. Nice stuff though if I can find some deals, thx

Well, Macy's is about twice as expensive as N-rack if that's your low point? or do you mean low as in dad-guy-style low?
Glenn 09-20-2011, 11:13 PM Dadguys I know don't shop Macy's. I can't recall ever seeing another man in there when I've been dragged in there by my wife.
Kohl's = Dadguy Central.
DrRay11 09-21-2011, 07:53 AM just going by online prices. I'll have to check it out in person to see how it is

Saw a dude in my office with a pair but he's not a runner. Also a chick at the gym had on a pair. I caught it as I was walking out. If she'd been hotter I'd have turned around and asked her about them.
Kohl's is 100% dad guy. Kohl's cash FTW.
DrRay11 09-22-2011, 08:10 PM ^Kohls rocks because my parents still buy me shit there (cookware etc) when I go with them. rofl
DrRay11 09-22-2011, 08:12 PM also, b-diddy check out under armour heat gear for running next summer. I got some and it is awesome.
Might stroll down to Nordstrom Rack this weekend and see if I can't get myself some new digs. I don't even want to wear my old fall clothes.

looking for a pink undershirt for it. Wanting a non-iron collared one. Any suggestions? Probably falling on deaf ears without b-diddy around.

DrRay11 12-16-2011, 11:24 AM easy access, only when the boner's on the left side.
Glenn 12-16-2011, 11:28 AM Us bad boys need the zipper off to the side like that because of our enlarged man parts. The sissy boy standard zipper just won't do.

DrRay11 12-16-2011, 11:29 AM thx, gotta find one first. prolly gonna head downtown in a bit and take care of this
