I haven't been this disinterested in the Pistons since becoming a fan in the early 90's.

I went from spending all day online discussing every nuance of the team and being a part of creating this site, to spending all day posting about sandwiches and poop haiku.

Thank you, Bill, Karen & Joe.

and this upcoming draft is so strong. We're bound to get a star.

Somebody throw me a pretend Kstat quote.

That's what I've been reduced to hoping for.

I was thinking the same thing. I used to be crazy about coming up with new ideas for the team, but now it's just... meh... partially due to the Pistons' suck, partially due to the NBA becoming what it has.

I would still watch them a lot if it didn't mean having to find online streams all the time or pay a couple hundy for the season ticket package, but when they're this bad it's just not worth it as I've got other things to do...

The part about what the NBA has become rings true with me too, though I've watched quite a few of the nationally televised games. Personally I've never had a problem rooting for the home team when they suck. My problem is the way the Pistons carry themselves from Karen to Joe to Q to the players. Their agendas and negativity and general BS have taken a lot of fun out of rooting for the team.

Glenn

It was fun to pull for the teal Pistons, even when they really sucked. This is not fun.

How can you get behind players that don't want to be here? Ya can't. Fuck this team...sans Monroe et al.

btw the only thing worse than the pistons being uninteresting is the fact pistons message boards turn the same way :emo kid:

I'm having a hard time believing these past couple seasons have been real. I bleed Pistons blue to my dying day, but I have a hard time feeling like these are even the Pistons with their being so rudderless.

Faced with the prospect of cheap tickets, I wondered if it was more beneficial to the team if I didn't show up. I never thought I'd be thinking that. Of course, I can't remember a time when Bill Davidson didn't own the team.

A lot has happened in the last 6 months, but let's not quibble, instead, I will give you credit for being ahead of the curve.

fuck it, lets quibble. nothing else to talk about.

6 months ago the team didn't give a shit, heck, 3 or4 years ago in the playoffs vs cleveland the team didnt give a shit. sheed, the only guy who cared, did it the wrong way and got himself thrown out and ridiculed. Billups sure as fuck didnt give a shit and im glad as fuck to see him go. good luck to NY and 'mr big shot' who, conveniently, hasn't hit a big shot in 6 years. that lazy asshole can go.

and fuck the rest of the team. they represent nothing of the defence and hard work mentality which brought me to this team in the first place. they're a lazy bunch of shits - and i havn't even watched a full game this season. their off court behaviour is enough for me to know how useless they are.
get rid of the lot of them and sign some people who actually want to play, who want to be there.

fucking assholes, the lot of them

and has maxiell eaten a single baby this season?

Billups hit a big shot his first game as a Knick, didn't he?

I still have interest in the team, it's just the main problems aren't play-style or even in game at all so there is no need to pay as close attention.

Glenn
03-23-2011, 12:26 PM
My remaining interest is purely based on what's next. I basically have zero interest in current happenings, outside of Monroe's development and Jerebko's recovery. That hasn't happened since I started following the team.

Uncle Mxy

Given how much weight he's gained, it's fair to say that he's graduated from babies to something less healthy.

Interests in this order:
Who can we trade our pick for
Dealing two of our SGs
What can Terrico White do
The new CBA
See if Stuckey can finish looking like a PG

Mercifully this season will be over soon enough and we can then lament the fact that we cannot trade RIPs horrid contract, Tays attitude, or Stuckeys terrible decision making abilities.

We will get stuck with a top 7 pick in the worst draft since Vietnam and spend all sumer being optimistic that Charlie V has been working really hard on his game, Gordon is shooting lights out, Jerebko has healed from his injury and Monroe has put on 20 lbs of muscle.

Then the season will start and 2 months later we can rinse and repeat this thread.

Malaise is just about right.

I just created a pistons team of Zeke, Dumars, Hill, Laimbeer and Big Ben in NBA 2K11. Big Ben and Grant Hill are edited to put their stats close to what I'd imagine they'd be in their prime. I simulate games and watch them, because I miss MY pistons basketball.

there is hope for next season, because it can't get much worse than this

- a lockout could benefit the Pistons
- new owner
- new coach
- maybe new GM
- development of Monroe, Daye and Jonas (remember Jonas was basically our best player last season, i expect him to bounce back and become a starter in this league like Monroe already is, if Daye takes another step he could become a starter too) + 1st round pick this summer
- hopefully some of the following guys are gone (in order): RIP, Charlie, Gordon, Maxiell, Bynum, Prince, Tmac

Lol, I just looked him up, he had an 11 year career? That seems impossible.

Also:

He holds the NBA record for most games in a row without a steal at 65 straight games. This spanned over a 3 year long period from 1989 - 1992.
