Does anyone (perhaps someone who does retail) know if Michigan law requires one to show a receipt/proof-of-purchase to exit a store? What prompted it is this thread:

http://consumerist.com/2011/03/calm-man-successfully-buys-tv-and-denies-walmart-receipt-checkers.html

I don't like showing my receipt at the exit. I want to put it in my wallet so I don't lose it, and I only have my wallet open when I'm paying.

Yeah I hate that shit. I also hate when that damn alarm thing goes off by the doors because the cashier forgot to clear a tag or something. I swear it happens once a week at the CVS by my house. I just keep walking.

Never been stopped at walmart, but then I've never bought a TV there because their models all suck.

Best buy does stop you, which is stupid because the doorman has sight lines to the cash register. At least at Walmart they can't see the registers at all.

I wonder about Costco. They always stop you and check your receipt. It's crazy because the way the place is walled off you'd have to walk through the checkout. Only reason I can see them checking is that you might have stolen a cart from someone eating at their food court. No way they even really check all your items. They probably count 5 seconds and then mark it off. In fact, they don't even ask you. Since everyone is lined up you just assume you have to stop. I've never actually been asked to stop at Costco.

Except, you can use the Costco pharmacy without being a Costco member.

Depends on the state but in general yeah.....but they're mainly just checking people with big carts full of crap.

No idea, don't own one. But that has to be state specific. I assume if you have a conceal permit you would not have to but I don't know.

I'm required by law to show my guns whenever a lady is present.

Just out of curiosity, at what point are your arms defined as guns? 15 inches? I suppose it depends on your height, and also whether they are fat or actual muscle.

Are these your guns?:

How does that guy even get dressed with arms like that? Why would anybody want to look like that?

Because of this thread, I'm tempted to go to Sam's Club just to say no when I walk out the door.

Thats that cat from New Jersey, I think, that would do just about anything. His arms ended up actually splitting, iirc. He was running HGH, of course.

If thats the guy I'm thinking of...he can barely walk or move cuz his joints are so fucked up.

Way to go guys, you're going to lose up to 15 minutes of your time arguing with a minimum wage senior citizen to show how smart you are. Winning the battle, losing the war.

Yeah, but he just doesn't get that he's wrong about Howard and last year's playoffs.
