Tayshaun would have fit in here, as well. They only want wing help for the short-term after a couple players got injured.

WojYahooNBA: As you'd expect, Celtics vets are livid over trade of Kendrick Perkins, sources say. He's the tough guy, enforcer. But BOS can't pay him.

Chris Mannix: Troy Murphy wanted to come to Boston before this. Now it seems highly likely he winds up there. Twitter

Can't pay him?

They are both in the final year of their contracts and Green is the better player.

I feel like I'm not seeing the giant elephant in the room here. Why did OKC trade 2 starters (both the final years of their deals) and a clippers 1st rounder for two backups?

This would have been a nice addition to the Pistons. Oh well...

Fuck me. THE WHOLE TIME I'm thinking "Big Baby" not Perkins.

Now I get it.

Boston may also bring back Rasheed Wallace, who has remained in the metro Boston area after retiring following Boston's Game Seven loss to the Lakers in last year's NBA Finals. Although he told CSNNE.com this past summer that his NBA career was a "wrap like Christmas," sources have indicated recently that Wallace might have a change of heart if the C's had a roster spot become available. I know that I'm an "OKC Thunder guy", but if Perk's knee is right, I really like Westbrook, Durantula & Perk.

Kinda cutthroat of Boston to trade away Marquis Daniels for a 2017 2nd rounder :-o

Whatever happened to that one poster we had with the Perk avatar? I liked him.

Awesome blast by Phil.

Now, the Celtics will try to win a championship without the familiar five. On Thursday, the Celtics’ director of basketball operations, Danny Ainge, traded Perkins and the reserve guard Nate Robinson to Oklahoma City for 24-year-old Jeff Green, a 6-foot-9 forward, and the veteran center Nenad Krstic.

“They go down as never having lost a playoff series,” Phil Jackson, tongue in cheek, said Thursday.

Many mocked Big Perk, especially during the 08 ECF.
