View Full Version : Foster: Dumars wants to re-sign Tay, comments on his (in)ability to make trades Glenn 02-22-2011, 02:07 PM Joe Dumars wants Tayshaun Prince back with Pistons (http://www.detnews.com/article/20110222/SPORTS0102/102220407/1361/Joe-Dumars-wants-Tayshaun-Prince-back-with-Pistons) Dude, he said that. Glenn 02-22-2011, 02:09 PM More importantly... Dumars said he has been given permission to make trades, despite the possible sale of the team soon. But it is believed he cannot make a trade for a player with a long-term contract or a high salary. He is allowed to trade for draft picks and expiring contracts. "There are some parameters for us to make a deal," Dumars said. "Yes, I can make a deal, but it has to fit within the parameters." Dumars said he has had trade talks with many teams over the past few weeks, but added, "Now we don't have a deal to pull the trigger on." Dumars said he doesn't know if the team will trade Richard Hamilton. He refused comment about the strained relationship between Hamilton and coach John Kuester. "As I've said before, I will deal with that stuff privately," Dumars said. DrRay11 02-22-2011, 02:09 PM no dude, he did not say that. Fool 02-22-2011, 02:14 PM "I will deal with that stuff privately." Why the fuck haven't you already? Tahoe 02-22-2011, 02:52 PM "I will deal with that stuff privately." Its not working Joe. WTFchris 02-22-2011, 04:31 PM Not being able to take on any long term contracts makes most deals a waste. The whole point of acquiring Tay is probably to shed salary. If we are limited in the assets we can take back you won't have many options. One option would be Tay for Butler/Pick since that is not taking back salary. Same could be done with Yao, but I'm not sure Houston wants Tay with Battier already there as an expiring. Maybe if we threw in Wilcox to give them a big body. Joe Asberry 02-22-2011, 06:33 PM yippie...resign Prince, Tmac and Stuckey for big $$ and we are stuck in mediocrity forever, because no one will take RIP, Gordon and Villa for sure there is so much wrong with this team, still no moves...again, i dont want any more excuses from Dumars, i want him gone, i want a new GM Black Dynamite 02-22-2011, 06:56 PM He's gone whenever you want.....To remove him from your avatar. DrRay11 02-22-2011, 07:17 PM yippie...resign Prince, Tmac and Stuckey for big $$ and we are stuck in mediocrity forever, because no one will take RIP, Gordon and Villa for sure there is so much wrong with this team, still no moves...again, i dont want any more excuses from Dumars, i want him gone, i want a new GM A new GM would probably, at the least, give us what we want the most... a fire sale. Vinny 02-22-2011, 07:53 PM Although I doubt his ability to get anything done, if Joe is trying to trade Tay, it certainly would be in his best interests to at least put on the appearance that he wants to keep him. Black Dynamite 02-22-2011, 09:51 PM A new GM would probably, at the least, give us what we want the most... a fire sale. In we he means lions fans. DrRay11 02-23-2011, 08:07 AM Okay. Tell me what players you think deserve or want to stay here, and that we want as well at their current/future price, besides Monroe, Jerebko, maybe Bynum, maybe Tmac, maybe Ben. Please. WTFchris 02-23-2011, 11:41 AM I think he needs to bring back Tmac and move Prince now for an additional pick. Tmac will be a cheaper option if you extend him now because he is grateful for the chance to play that Dumars gave him and Prince is obviously bitter about the situation here (no way you get a discount on him). Glenn 02-23-2011, 11:43 AM If Joe were to somehow re-sign Tay (which I doubt happens) what does that say about Daye's future with us? WTFchris 02-23-2011, 03:17 PM If Joe were to somehow re-sign Tay (which I doubt happens) what does that say about Daye's future with us? Depends on whether Stuckey and RIP are here too. |
