A lot of us like Woodson, including me, but I think JVG might be a better hire. Love his defense-first mindset.

View Full Version : 2011/12 Pistons coaching candidates Glenn 02-22-2011, 08:11 AM A lot of us like Woodson, including me, but I think JVG might be a better hire. Love his defense-first mindset. Glenn 02-22-2011, 08:28 AM Clearly, Izzo is the best choice, but we wouldn't have much of a discussion if he's included. Pharaoh 02-22-2011, 09:00 AM Woodson, Laimbeer, JVG, Sloan's assistant that stepped aside... Isn't Nate McMillan off contract after this season? That's a pretty good list to pick from micknugget 02-22-2011, 12:28 PM What do you guys think of Terry Porter? He had some success as a head coach before with Mil. and was a bad fit with Phoenix. He's familiar with the organization being a recent assistant. I'd think we'd at least consider him. Tahoe 02-22-2011, 12:58 PM WHY ARE WE TALKING ABOUT COACHING CANDIDATES WHEN THERE ISN'T A VACANCY YET? Glenn 02-22-2011, 01:30 PM Thank you. Uncle Mxy 02-22-2011, 03:00 PM For this team, I'm wondering if Terry Porter can still play PG... :) Timone 02-22-2011, 05:03 PM I'd love Van Gundy, but I'd be fine with Woodson or McMillan. Timone 02-22-2011, 05:16 PM Dark horse candidate: JON BARRY lospistones 02-22-2011, 06:49 PM Laimbeer. Black Dynamite 02-22-2011, 06:54 PM JVG offenses our equally as bad as his respected defense. Though IMO his defenses were like Carlisle's with us were wrapped in shot clock running slow offense. I don't mind that, but they never seem to consistently execute. His lack of displaying any basketball knowledge as an analyst is kinda off putting, but im trying not to let that factor in. |
