So whats up with him next year? Has he said he wants to sign here? or doesn't want to?

Cuz if we signed TMac, we really would be set at PG for another year. He obviously can play the position and WB backing him up is a good thing.

We'd be fine at the 2 if the Rip thing can be worked out and Ben backing him, but thats lotta dough to spend on the 2.

Tay? I like Daye but he doesn't drive to the hole like Tay does. Different game. We'd be hurting if lost Tay.

C-MO and CV at pf? Looks ok to me. JJ?

Ben obviously needs replacing. Our biggest need since TMac and WB playing so good, if Rip and Q can get over their stubbed VJays and Tay's back seems to be healthy and Monroe playing so well.

So if TMac would resign here it comes down to needing a 5 and a 3 if Tay doesn't resign.

He very much doesn't want to sign here. We'd love to get someone younger or a pick for him.

Here are teams that could have cap space in the range that Tayshaun could command (around 8-9 million?)

Cavaliers-will be a starting SF opening, could go here if he wants to stay "local" for wife and/or kids
Warriors-Dorrell Wright seems to be working out for them, but it's in California.
Rockets-will they retain Battier? Either way big minutes could be available ere.
Pacers-Granger.
Clippers-could easily start here over Ryan Gomes/Rasual Butler/Al Farouq-Aminu.
Grizzlies-Gay :-(
Bucks-is there room at SF with Salmons/Delfino/Maggette/Ilyasova?
Timberwolves-Wes Johnson/Beasley :-(
Nets-Travis Outlaw :-(
Knicks-Carmelo? Gallo? Chandler? Fields? :-(
Thunder-Durantula/Green :-(
Kings-Hey hey, here's a California team he could start on. Udrih/Evans/Prince/Thompson/Cousins
Raptors-this team is such a shit show, yes he could start here.
Wizards-would he want to play with Flip? Is Rashard Lewis the starting SF? He may be better off the bench...

None of those teams are current playoff teams, though.

Sheeeeeeeit, I'd pay 8-9mil in a sec.

A PG, TMac in this case, sure as hell helped this team. At least you can evaluate players now.

Yes. I could be off on that but I bet he'll get that...maybe more.

I'd give him a declining deal starting at like 10, averaging 8 over 5 years, 40 total. He's about to turn 31.
Is that fair?

His legs aren't 31 though. His back is about 39.

As far as the contract, I don't do NBA much, so I'm not sure.

The reason I said I'd pay him that is 10mil doesn't even seem to be a rich contract anymore.

That's what I'd give him if I thought he were the missing piece to the next step.

As far as I'm concerned we should trade him for a similar player on a longer contract.
