View Full Version : i dont like this michigan state basketball team (I?)
b-diddy 02-02-2011, 11:16 PM garbage team.
some good athletes, not a lot of good basketball players.
i expected a classic izzo switcheroo coming to finish strong, but it would take a miracle for msu to make the tourney at this point.
anyone find it ironic that izzo kicked two kids off the team the same year he himself was caught cheating? i'd say its the blind leading the blind in east lansing, but considering their fan base includes baker and bukdow, thats the least of their problems.
Tahoe 02-02-2011, 11:21 PM I could see it falling kinda like U of Miami's football team.
b-diddy 02-02-2011, 11:40 PM before tom did something as drastic as booting lucious off the team, he should have consulted pastor mark about alternative interpretations of the phrase "zero tolerance".
Vinny 02-03-2011, 02:31 AM 1 More season like this before Tom needs to start worrying about his job?
Jethro34 02-03-2011, 09:22 AM Once again, I do not understand why top players come to East Lansing. There's a 5 star kid signed for the current class, and what was he thinking? Was he in love with the idea that last year's #20 in the country is in EL doing absolutely nothing? Or that Roe, whose injuries were defended by so many Sparties as no bog deal and something he would easily be over before his 1st season - he was #24 in that class and Rivals compared him to lottery picks Ed Davis and Greg Monroe - is still essentially a bust considering all factors? He'll never be drafted.
Then there's the amazing senior class. 3 players in the top 58 (guys like E'twaun Moore and Evan Turner were 35 and 49, respectively) and one is horribly underachieving and gets kicked off the team, another was Big Ten POY last year but won't be drafted after this year, while still another is being railed by his coach weekly for his inconsistency and failure to lead. All of these guys had a better chance of playing for money somewhere if they would have left after their sophomore seasons. There's also talk of "woe is me, we have to play walk-ons sometimes". Yeah, like Austin Thornton was was the #10 player in Michigan and a 3 star that year? Oh, poor babies. Michigan made it to the second round of the NCAA's led by two undersized walk-ons in Lee and Merritt along with Harris and Sims as their scorers. MSU, for all their troubles, started the year #2 and if the field were announced today that wouldn't be in the tourney. Never has a top 5 team ever been such a disappointment, and the 5 stars continue to line up and hurt their chances of playing in the NBA.
b-diddy 02-06-2011, 02:04 PM gettin' taken to the shed again.
msu is no better than the 3rd best team in michigan, and might be the worst team in the big ten. dont see too many more wins on the schedule for sparty.
what was baker saying michigan wouldnt even make the nit?
Timone 02-06-2011, 02:08 PM College basketball is alive and well... in Ann Arbor.
Timone 02-06-2011, 02:10 PM I reeeeally don't like clark Kellogg for some reason.
Timone 02-06-2011, 02:15 PM This team is indeed ass.
Tahoe 02-06-2011, 02:33 PM Kellog "it depends how the ref interpretates the elbow"
Tahoe 02-06-2011, 02:59 PM Wow...'my' Wolverines went through some changes and didn't fair to well with the new coach, but MSU's bball just turned to shit with the same coach and everything.
Glenn 02-06-2011, 04:32 PM As a UM fan, I like them just fine, lol!
Black Dynamite 02-06-2011, 05:44 PM I don't like MSU much, but man b-diddy is an embarrassing troll. I wish he was an OSU fan.
Jethro34 02-06-2011, 06:12 PM It's not often that UM, in Feb, can say they have more wins so far in their season than MSU does. And I don't want to hear about schedules, when UM has played OSU twice (MSU has played them once) and UM played Kansas as well. Add to it the fact that one of the teams started the year ranked #2 and the other started the season without a single senior and unlikely to make the NIT, and Sparty just needs to face the music that no team has ever collapsed quite like this.
b-diddy 02-15-2011, 06:53 PM game of note tonight. sparty in columbus.
2 predictions:
1) msu will not stay anywhere near as class as UM did vs the buckeyes.
2) at some point during the second half, thad matta will take tom over his knee and give him a spanking to remember.
osu is giving 12.5. wow.
Jethro34 02-16-2011, 05:59 PM Funny how MSU stayed close and lost by 10 and media wants to love the Sparties for a good fight, and yet UM's most recent game against them was closer and received less praise. Man, people still want to love Izzo at all costs.
Note he's still whining about foul calls. tOSU really does get the calls, though.
b-diddy 03-02-2011, 07:43 PM spartans not exactly handling their business vs iowa tonight. michigan wants an msu win to keep them in the top 50 rpi. wouldnt be a killer if they lost since psu probably will get back in the top 50.
but still, iowa at home for senior night. even sparty should beable to win this one.
Glenn 03-28-2011, 02:14 PM Sherman to transfer from MSU. http://bit.ly/fBZjHd
Best season ever?
Tahoe 03-28-2011, 03:42 PM I hope that cat from Bay City Western, who committed to MSWHO will reconsider.
