View Full Version : DEATHSTORM - 2011 Glenn 01-31-2011, 11:14 PM If we all perish over the next two days, please know that I love you all. Glenn 01-31-2011, 11:14 PM And He loves you, too. Timone 01-31-2011, 11:20 PM I know this. I didn't die today. Tahoe 01-31-2011, 11:29 PM DEATHSTORM POIDH Timone 01-31-2011, 11:30 PM Deathstorm has a great ring to it. I've now decided it's my band's new name. Tahoe 01-31-2011, 11:30 PM What are y'all whinning about getting a half foot of snow or something? Y'all need to get out there like real men and shovel the driveway. Timone 01-31-2011, 11:37 PM STFU, Californian. Tahoe 01-31-2011, 11:42 PM ^ lol It weird cuz generally when theres a shitstorm somewhere else in the country its nice here....hoping. It has been warm and sunny lately. Warm relatively. Tahoe 02-01-2011, 12:05 AM I just checked weatherdotcom for Detroit and it looks bad. I prolly shouldn't be joking here cuz someone will most likely die in this one. Timone 02-01-2011, 12:15 AM God's really pissed at the Dems here. It's too bad the rest of us have to suffer. DrRay11 02-01-2011, 07:20 AM ^lol. Lots of ice down here, about a half inch. I'm not going to work, fuck that. Glenn 02-01-2011, 10:15 AM They are saying 12" - 21" by Wednesday night here. And that doesn't account for the drifts due to high winds. Seeing some crazy stuff about 5 to 10 FEET. Glenn 02-01-2011, 10:16 AM I'm good unless the power goes out. *please don't lose power* *please don't lose power* Timone 02-01-2011, 10:40 AM Yeah, it would suck if you lost power in your house. Not like you have any on here. WTFchris 02-01-2011, 11:05 AM It is fooking cold here. minus 11 right now (minus 45 last night with wind chill). The record coldest "high" for a day in Denver is minus 4. They are predicting we won't reach that. Almost no accumulation with the storm but we had freezing rain that iced all the roads. It will be worse being farther north like you are. Prepare for the worst. Glenn 02-01-2011, 04:41 PM IT'S STARTING!!!!!!!!!! Tahoe 02-01-2011, 05:24 PM I'd have my snowmobile all kinds of warmed up. And prolly some cross country skis waxed too. RegicideGreg 02-01-2011, 06:25 PM 80 degrees and sunny here Atticus771 02-01-2011, 07:49 PM Here in Chicagoland, I just survived a run in The Deathstorm -- couldn't screw up my marathon training plan, and the gym closed early on me. The irony? I'm in the suburbs, and the park I often run through had sidewalks plowed, while the surrounding roads were crap. The commute home today was treacherous, but it was glorious knowing that I don't have to work tomorrow. I'm a teacher, and the superintendent called off Wednesday school at 12:30PM today. It seems justified so far. I ran through some drifts up to my waist, and I'm certainly not driving 30 miles in that any time soon. Tahoe 02-01-2011, 08:55 PM I'd like to get some snowflake counts from some of y'all in the midwest. How many per hour? Get back to me pls. Fool 02-01-2011, 09:26 PM Nothing special by me so far. Southeast Michigan. Vinny 02-01-2011, 11:17 PM Holy crazy shitstorm in Chicago. There's thunder and lightning and the wind is whipping everything around in circles. I'm relatively close to the lake so there's a lot of wind, almost blew me over. Timone 02-01-2011, 11:27 PM Nothing special by me so far. Southeast Michigan. I am also in the SE. I love it down here in your basement, BTW. Fool 02-01-2011, 11:37 PM You make me a basement, you can live in it rent free bro. Timone 02-02-2011, 12:19 AM How'd you know that's what I do for a living? Shit, the mystique is gone. Uncle Mxy 02-02-2011, 07:57 AM I'm glad to not be in Michigan at the moment. Fool 02-02-2011, 09:58 AM "Storm" is overrated so far. At least here. Twenty minute shovel job and the roads around me a crystal clear because everyone was on alert. DrRay11 02-02-2011, 10:03 AM Power was in and out this morning here at work, but going strong for an hour and a half now. I wish it wasn't so I could go home. Glenn 02-02-2011, 10:41 AM No workie for me. Got about 14 in, with drifts to 2-2.5 ft or so. Snowblower is working great, took about 2 hrs to do the driveway and sidewalks. Tahoe 02-02-2011, 12:43 PM Sounds kind like some fun to me. Vinny 02-02-2011, 12:48 PM These people who got stuck on Lake Shore...if you had been here yesterday, you would have had to be retarded to go on that road after about 4:00. The way the wind was whipping around by the lake....it was pretty much complete whiteout. DrRay11 02-02-2011, 01:12 PM Vinny, you live in Chicago now? Thoughts? I'm thinking about trying for PwC again. Vinny 02-02-2011, 01:41 PM Vinny, you live in Chicago now? Thoughts? I'm thinking about trying for PwC again. I love it, it's fun. If you're going to do it do it now, it's fun as hell when you're in your 20s. UxKa 02-02-2011, 06:12 PM Got hit with over a foot here, had a 5 ft drift across my garage door, and on my front porch the snow went over the railing lol. Supposed to be -10° tonight, woohoo! On the bright side, they cancelled school tomorrow already, so I get to take it easy tonight and work from home (again) tomorrow. Atticus771 02-02-2011, 06:39 PM The storm lived up to the hype here in the north Chicago 'burbs. I wokeup this morning and opened the garage door to a 4 ft drift. We have a single stall garage (sucks), so one car was left outside, completely buried. The neighbors' car was even worse. After a couple hours of digging I had it out though. I went for another run this afternoon and it was a pretty serene experience. There were very few cars on the road, all kinds of restaurants, stores, even malls closed, and lots of people still digging out. Also, got the call from the superintendent that school is closed again tomorrow, so I think I'll just stay in weekend mode even though I'll have to head back to work Friday. Tahoe 02-03-2011, 01:40 PM Holy shit, saw some pics of Lakeshore D. Glenn 02-20-2011, 01:27 PM Part deux? Icy snowflakes falling that are the size of my fist. 1/2" of ice expected with a half foot of snow or so. Fool 02-20-2011, 08:54 PM Thunder snow! Can't wait for sunny day lightening and boiling rain come this summer. Global warming invents new weather! Timone 02-20-2011, 09:00 PM LIBS INVENTED GLOBAL WARMING Fool 02-20-2011, 09:02 PM SO THEY COULD MURDER MORE CHILDREN BY KILLING THEIR PARENT'S SOURCE OF INCOME! Tahoe 02-20-2011, 09:03 PM LIBS INVENTED GLOBAL WARMING FINALLY SOMEONE AGREES WITH ME! oh and finally someone agrees that all that shit was disproved. |
