They are saying 12" - 21" by Wednesday night here. And that doesn't account for the drifts due to high winds. Seeing some crazy stuff about 5 to 10 FEET.

It is fooking cold here. minus 11 right now (minus 45 last night with wind chill). The record coldest "high" for a day in Denver is minus 4. They are predicting we won't reach that.

Almost no accumulation with the storm but we had freezing rain that iced all the roads.

Here in Chicagoland, I just survived a run in The Deathstorm -- couldn't screw up my marathon training plan, and the gym closed early on me. The irony? I'm in the suburbs, and the park I often run through had sidewalks plowed, while the surrounding roads were crap.

The commute home today was treacherous, but it was glorious knowing that I don't have to work tomorrow. I'm a teacher, and the superintendent called off Wednesday school at 12:30PM today. It seems justified so far. I ran through some drifts up to my waist, and I'm certainly not driving 30 miles in that any time soon.

I'd like to get some snowflake counts from some of y'all in the midwest. How many per hour? Get back to me pls.

"Storm" is overrated so far. At least here. Twenty minute shovel job and the roads around me a crystal clear because everyone was on alert.

Power was in and out this morning here at work, but going strong for an hour and a half now.

I wish it wasn't so I could go home.

No workie for me. Got about 14 in, with drifts to 2-2.5 ft or so.

Snowblower is working great, took about 2 hrs to do the driveway and sidewalks.

Sounds kind like some fun to me.

These people who got stuck on Lake Shore...if you had been here yesterday, you would have had to be retarded to go on that road after about 4:00. The way the wind was whipping around by the lake....it was pretty much complete whiteout.

Got hit with over a foot here, had a 5 ft drift across my garage door, and on my front porch the snow went over the railing lol. Supposed to be -10° tonight, woohoo! On the bright side, they cancelled school tomorrow already, so I get to take it easy tonight and work from home (again) tomorrow.

The storm lived up to the hype here in the north Chicago 'burbs. I wokeup this morning and opened the garage door to a 4 ft drift. We have a single stall garage (sucks), so one car was left outside, completely buried. The neighbors' car was even worse. After a couple hours of digging I had it out though.

I went for another run this afternoon and it was a pretty serene experience. There were very few cars on the road, all kinds of restaurants, stores, even malls closed, and lots of people still digging out.

Also, got the call from the superintendent that school is closed again tomorrow, so I think I'll just stay in weekend mode even though I'll have to head back to work Friday.
