View Full Version : Gambling thread. Glenn 01-27-2011, 02:36 PM This weekend is my annual 'weekend at the casino'. Any tips, Ledezma? DrRay11 01-27-2011, 02:40 PM I went to Vegas and only spent 30-something on gambling, IIRC. Since I was with company people and not friends, it wasn't the same. Lots on booze, though. Tahoe 01-27-2011, 05:38 PM Drink heavily Vinny 01-27-2011, 06:09 PM And bring as much cash as you can get your hands on. Clear out the savings account...that way you won't have to pay the exorbinant fees at the casino atm... Glenn 01-27-2011, 06:18 PM I'm pleased with my bankroll, lol. I was just hoping for some "can't miss" tips from Wilfredo. Timone 01-27-2011, 06:21 PM Sex with my girlfriend. Now that's a real gamble. b-diddy 01-27-2011, 06:41 PM skip casino, get a hooker. Glenn 01-27-2011, 06:45 PM Wife might not go along with that. I know the odds aren't all that great, but I really enjoy playing Let It Ride. And blackjack, of course. Might have to brush up a bit on Let It Ride on the computer tonight. Timone 01-27-2011, 06:50 PM That's a good one. No anal though, unfortunately. Tahoe 01-27-2011, 06:53 PM When I want to play without giving it much thought, I... bet 2 bucks, if I lose I bet 4, then 8, 16 and keep doubling to I win then you win everything you lost plus the amount of your original bet. Just don't lose more than 7 times(?) or you'll exceed table limits on a 200 limit table anyway. Its mindless, it works, pit bosses get a lil pissed sometimes. Just tip the dealer. If you win at 2, don't go to 4 btw. One of the older ways but still ok. Glenn 01-27-2011, 06:56 PM Table mins are generally $5-10 around here, so you need to be prepared to go big if you lose 6 or so in a row. If you win the majority of your doubles and splits you can do well. We've had this discussion before, probably in Wil's old blackjack thread, which I totally forgot about until now. Tahoe 01-27-2011, 07:05 PM So table limits mins max 5-500? 5, 10, 20, 40, 80, 160, 320. Yeah, you'd need 6 or 7 hun walking up. Glenn 01-27-2011, 07:26 PM Yep. b-diddy 01-27-2011, 07:56 PM a good way to play if you want to have little fun and stress constantly about getting back to even. that and you have to keep perfect discipline for a low reward system. sorry tahoe, me no like. if no hook, what about http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTGfZA3kuOCzwyE1OKqwQiKbjnSIKIQG aEMkdde8-ZWMkI6dclzKA ? geerussell 01-28-2011, 09:39 AM For me, the discipline it takes to do proper bankroll management and strategic play sucks all the fun out of gambling... and failing to do those things sucks all the money out of my wallet. So I just put my money on the bar instead of the table when I go to the casino. My return on booze, cigars and people watching is far higher than my return on blackjack. Glenn 01-29-2011, 03:58 PM Up about 800, playing Let It Ride, exclusively also AMSTEL LOL Tahoe 01-29-2011, 06:25 PM attaboy Glenn 01-29-2011, 06:37 PM +650 back at the hotel for a nap /update Glenn 01-29-2011, 06:38 PM just had ungodly buffet meal (comped) must have been 2K calories /update Glenn 01-30-2011, 03:38 AM Awesome day. +700 and treated like royalty. I loveAmerica! Glenn 01-13-2016, 08:17 PM So LEDEZMA http://deadspin.com/poker-player-disqualified-from-tournament-for-peeing-at-1752750522 MikeMyers 01-18-2016, 03:36 PM Speaking of gambling, I don't really see the Draft Kings and Fanduel commercials anymore except for sponsoring segments on ESPN. Timone 01-18-2016, 03:51 PM Was thinking the same thing earlier Glenn 01-31-2024, 12:53 AM Made $500 last for almost 5 hours (3-card poker & let it ride). Feels like a win. |
