I was going back and forth on this, but as a Lions fan, does it really matter?

If a team scores on its 1st possession in OT the other teams gets a possession.

Also this is just in the playoffs if I read it correctly and thereby generating the 'does it really matter'.

I'm not much of an NFL fan but I heard about this on the news. IMO, this is a dumb rule. For those sports where scoring is relatively rare, OT should be sudden death ending with the first score.

A tie at the end of regulation means both teams deserve to lose -- simple as that. I don't have too much sympathy if one team benefits greatly over the other due to a coin flip. Shit happens.

I wouldn't object to the winner of a tie game being decided solely by the coin flip itself, if it leads to crazy plays at the end of regulation to try and break the tie and avoid it coming to a coin flip.

I like football so I'd like to extend the game like BBall kind of does.

BBall plays 5 mins but its a bunch of possessions.

I'd like the NFL to play another quarter.
