View Full Version : Celtics/Wizards idea Glenn 02-03-2010, 01:31 PM Just came up with this all by myself! Glenn 02-03-2010, 04:21 PM I think that doesn't help the Pistons at all so I don't care. :emo kid: WTFchris 02-03-2010, 05:22 PM just giving you crap. I would think Boston would for sure (provided they can resign Haywood). Washington might want more young talent for Caron than simply Perkins. Not sure how much they'd like Bill Walker and a pick. Pharaoh 02-04-2010, 08:58 AM Good for both teams if you assume Washington are gonna blow up their team. I'd expect them to get a little more for that package though. Celtics don't have any quality youth to include as filler though Glenn 02-04-2010, 03:25 PM 4. Caron Butler, G/F, Wizards For weeks we've assumed that Antawn Jamison is the Wizard most likely to be moved, but that's not true, according to GMs who have had conversations with the Wizards. They say the team is reluctant to move Jamison, a franchise cornerstone. Butler, on the other hand, is very much available, and the Wizards shouldn't have much trouble finding interest: Butler has only one year remaining on his contract and he can still play, at age 29 (he turns 30 on March 13). One issue that could slow negotiations is the fact that the Wizards don't want to just give Butler away; they want both cap relief and a young asset. But that might be a heavy price in this market. Do it, Danny/Ernie! Pharaoh 02-05-2010, 08:15 AM Is Perkins your idea of a young asset? Glenn 02-05-2010, 08:21 AM Yes. Even though he looks like he's in his 40's, he doesn't have much wear on him at all, and he's got a reasonable contract for what he is. Glenn 02-05-2010, 08:30 AM He's 25, fwiw, but didn't play very much his first few seasons. Pharaoh 02-05-2010, 08:34 AM He's also only got 2 years on his deal. Wouldn't they prefer a young dude with a longer contract? Glenn 02-05-2010, 08:54 AM They get a "cheap" 2-year look and then have his Bird rights, not too shabby. Zekyl 02-06-2010, 10:34 AM I agree that they'd probably ask for Walker (one of Boston's only young assets) or a pick. More likely a pick since Walker hasn't shown much. Glenn 02-06-2010, 12:05 PM The Celtics would probably give Walker to the first team to ask for him. |
