Do we have game threads anymore?

It's on right now if you didn't know.

Kstat

we got up 9-1 early and then wilcox and Ben started taking every shot.

we're down 4 now.

Austin fucking Daye is commanding an automatic double team. That's how little they give a shit about Ben Wallace being wide open.

I'm not sure what Ben is thinking. He's taking all these stupid shots.

Kstat

For whatever reason, NY doesnt seem to think Ben is capable of making point blank layups. He isnt THAT inept.

Just found a stream. Ben has 10 points?

Anyone know what counts as a "team rebound"? if it hits the floor and your team ends up with it?

Glenn

End of the 1st quarter

Ben Wallace
5-8, 10 Pts, 7 Rebs

Who does this guy think he is? David Lee?

Fool

LOL, listening to the NY announcers. Dude was trying to make a point about having to know what a guy does well for defense.

Said, "Everyone in this league does something well. You know ... well Gallinari can shoot the 3 well." completely struggled to find ANYTHING that ANY Knick does well.

Good announcers.

CV, the only player in the league who can average .8 assists a game (lol) while never having actually passed the ball in his life.

Kstat
01-18-2010, 01:48 PM
we're playing better at every facet except making open shots.

The guys we have out there simply cannot make shots. It's that simple right now.

Kstat

Eli Zaret interviewing celeb Knick fans is certainly something I enjoy on a Piston telecast.

Fool
01-18-2010, 01:50 PM
LOL now on the NY telecast they show a highlight that the announcer has to apologize for his call over.

"Yes, it is possible to shoot with .1 second on the clock!"

Can't script this kind of stuff.

Glenn

You'd think, after all these years, that I would remember to stay home from work on MLK day.

LOL@ the Knicks still trying to use Jefferies as a defensive stopper.

Glenn

Nice, thanks for the linkage.

Why is the dad on the new Pistons commercial wearing a #1 Pistons jersey?

I didn't think you meant thanks for the LOL comment.

Glenn

LOL@ the Knicks still trying to use Jefferies as a defensive stopper.

They've been playing him big minutes and promoting him in the local media as just that (defensive stopper) in an attempt to make someone want him in a trade.

Glenn

Why is the dad on the new Pistons commercial wearing a #1 Pistons jersey?

He got it at Meijer on clearance.

At what point is Atkins going to put a hand in Robinson's face?

Fool

CV wide open at the arc (about 4 feet away from Stuckey) but Stuck takes a fade-away jumper after not getting his man to move with a backdown.

Maybe he just realized that he's Chucky Atkins.

I'm digging our 17:3 rebound to assist ratio.

Saw that too. He's getting better at the PG thing but he has a lot to learn.

Why is CV wearing the mask again?

Kstat
01-18-2010, 02:13 PM
well, if you can't make layups and free throws, you're not going to win.

We've probably outplayed the Knicks in most aspects of this game. But the fact is we've missed far too many point-blank shots.

This reminds me of earlier in the season. We just don't have enough offense on this roster to stay with anybody.

Glenn
01-18-2010, 02:13 PM
Why is CV wearing the mask again?

They won 5 in a row with it, he took it off and they lost 13 in a row, he put it back on and they won 3 in a row.

Seriously, that's the reason he's giving.

He also got hit in the nose a game or two ago.

Glenn
01-18-2010, 02:15 PM
Stuckey going for 30 shots today, I see.

Anything over 20 or so from him and we typically lose.

Fool
01-18-2010, 02:16 PM
He's had it for all three wins? Geez. I was at the Palace for the NO game didn't notice.

Kstat

This is an amazing run. We still haven't hit anything past 10 feet all half and we're on an 18-point tear.

Free League Pass till the 24th.

Thank you Kstat's old board.

(Pistons game is blacked out if you are in the area of course. Though you can stream the audio.)

Glenn

LOL@ the Knicks still trying to use Jefferies as a defensive stopper.
He picked up his 4th foul and had to come out, and then the Pistons went berserk and started scoring at will. Dantoni just put him back in with 4 fouls in the 3rd.

Where's Bender?

Some nice Mark Champion "Ohhh my goodness!"

Lee's 4th foul was huge, too.

These knick announcers are something else. After that charge by stuckey, one of them mutters, "they're trying to make a point guard out of him, but he's more of a shooter" and the other guy proceeds to read stuckey's shooting %'s and says "well, he's a different kind of scorer, I guess".

Jeffries hits a wide open shot, something nobody on our roster has been able to do the entire game.

Kstat
01-18-2010, 03:26 PM
We can hustle as much as we want to. We can't make shots. Eventually, someone is going to be forced to make something outside of 10 feet.

Glenn
01-18-2010, 03:28 PM
I agree with Kstat.

Charlie V is a walking turnover, and I am convinced Jason Maxiell gets called for AT LEAST ONE moving screen every game.

Kstat
01-18-2010, 03:29 PM
I can't believe we're only down 8, to be honest. This is one of the worst jump-shooting performances I've ever seen.

Kstat
01-18-2010, 03:30 PM
that sequence typified the game. 2 or 3 point-blank looks and we got nothing.

This is a situation where the Knicks made their run in the 4th quarter, while the Pistons made theirs in the 3rd.

If Philly beats the Twolves today, we'll be tied with Philly, the Pacers and the Wizards for 2nd worst in the East.
