Time for Something New? I haven't seen any Sacramento trade ideas so...

We deal Prince and Kwame for Kenny Thomas and Andres Nocioni.

They deal nothing of substance really, but gain a dude that has been there and done that when it comes to the playoffs.

This deal gets us an expiring contract and we basically replace Tay with Nocioni (though Nocioni's deal is 1 season longer)

Thoughts/fuck yous?

I'm open to any deal with RIP and or Tay that gives us Bosh money. Anything else I am leery of unless it brings back a young decent center directly.

I wouldn't mind plucking Greene from them. A big and a youngster with upside.

Chris, you're the numbers guy so...

If we did this deal and then sent Rip and Summers to Minnesota for Blount, Cardinal and their worst first round pick would we have Bosh money?

Tahoe - depending on how much Greene makes we might be able to include him in the deal.

The sactown deal gets us about 4 mil in space. The Minny deal would get us almost 13. I think that would be enough to sign Bosh (if he did in fact want to be here).

The only problem is how do you know both will happen? I'd move RIP first. I'm much more confident we could find another deal for Prince if this one didn't work out.

Of course both happen - we're in fantasy trade land

So, after doing both deals we essentially have Nocioni and the Wolves worst first rounder instead of Tay and Rip and Summers.

Bosh wants to come here and forces a sign and trade with Toronto. We send them our 2010 and the pick we got from Minny.

Roster/Rotation: Big Ben, Bosh, Nocioni, BG, Stuckey, Bynum, Daye, Jerebko, Nova, Maxiell, Wilcox, our 2nd rounder ...

WTFChris - if we did a sign and trade for Bosh (sending those 2 picks ONLY in the deal) would we have any room left over to sign someone, or would we be left with next to nothing (less than $1.5 mil)?

WTFchris

What is the sign and trade amount?

Pharaoh
01-12-2010, 03:33 AM
The max.

He ain't coming here for less than he could get elsewhere. He forces the S&T to get the most money possible, but he's not a moron and wants out of T-dot cause they haven't come close to building a winner around him since 2003.

WTFchris

Max money for Bosh is about 16.5 mil starting salary. The difference in year 1 will be less than a mil for him between S&T or outright signing with a new team. The yearly raises is where it matters (10.5% vs 8%):

16.5 starting with 10.5% raises = 129 mil over 6 years
16.5 starting with 8% raises = 121 mil over 6 years

WTFchris

So in 2010...

RIP (12.65 mil), Tay (11.15), Summers (.6?) gone

Bosh (16.5), Nocionni (6.85) here.

That amounts to about a mil in cap space (not counting the second rounder or a Bynum extension), which means no cap space.

We would not have the MLE because we renounce our FA's to get Bosh money (unless they want all of our FA's instead, yeah right).

We'd shave 10 mil off the following year (Nocionni and Wilcox), but would extend Stuckey as well. I would think we'd still use the MLE though.

Thomas and Nocioni. If this was 06 I'd be psych'ed.

At least it ain't 1997 again lol

IF all this went down and we ended up with Big Ben, Bosh, Nocioni, BG, Stuckey, Bynum, Daye, Jerebko, Nova, Maxiell, Wilcox, our 2nd rounder and a couple of cheap vets who would complain?

Bosh, Nova and BG guarantee us a fucking playoff berth IMO

Bosh and Nova have played together before. It didn't turn out very well, as I recall.

Is this money situation taking into account raises and the such?

Pharaoh

It didn't turn out well? They played together for the Raptors and nothing Toronto have done in the past 5 years turned out well.

They do have some kind of friendship, which is a drawcard for Bosh and the fact that they are both older and wiser (and have suffered a lot of losing) certainly works in our favour.

I don't know why I think the way I do but I KNOW if we had the MAX to offer Bosh he'd come here in a heartbeat for real

Can we get Jason Thompson?

They seem to be souring on him.

Hawes might work, too.

WTFchris

I would take either. They probably want us to take on Martins contract though. I don't see a fit there (we'd want to send RIP back). Maybe if we took on Garcia too (for Tay and Daye?).

i would love to get Thompson, he can play center,he's a good defender & rebounder

Pharaoh

I'm guessing if we wanted Thompson or Hawes we'd have to take Nocioni in the deal.

I seriously doubt they're looking to dump Martin, despite the obvious issues with their "stud" rookie. I'm guessing they let those 2 play together for a bit and see if they can come to some understanding.

The Kings aren't winning shit for a while, so it's best to wait and see on that backcourt issue IMO. Especially when they have decent reserves at those positions that they can use if things go horribly in any game.

And what's their issue with their bigs? Between now and the deadline I'd showcase Nocioni and if no one made a good offer I'd sit his ass until the end of March.

But from the day after the deadline until the 1st of April it'd be ll about the young kids and just let them play. They'll learn shit and work it out

For April it would be "Showcase Month" - any fucker you wanna deal in the off-season should get a lot of run to show and prove. Otherwise it's all youth, all the time.

I believe the children are their future, teach them well and let them lead the way

I could see Martin going to Dallas in a Josh Howard deal, even if Howard is rumored to be Toronto or Miami bound.

Pharaoh

Trade that "works" =

Hawes (or Thompson - cost basically the same) + Nocioni for Wilcox, Kwame and Atkins.

Pharaoh

They gonna dump Martin?

Why?

Glenn
02-04-2010, 08:55 AM
I don't think it's a "dump". I guess they just don't want to have two good SGs at the expense of being weak at other positions.

*COUGH*

LOL

And I can see them wanting to trade Martin - but not for expirings or "crap"

Surely they can get more if their patient. It's not the Evans/Martin thing is a complete and utter "FUCK NO!" right now.

It ain't great - but they're young players. Give 'em time I say.
