Glenn 01-08-2010, 03:44 PM Time to get out before the NCAA cracks down, I suppose. Tahoe 01-08-2010, 10:11 PM Yea, fuck the NCAA and fuck the Universities for firing coaches who simply bitch slap a player here and there. Universities should relax a lil bit. Tahoe 01-29-2010, 11:41 AM Rey Maualuga - DUI Glenn 01-30-2010, 03:05 PM Da Bears are close to hiring Mike Martz as their OC Tahoe 01-30-2010, 04:02 PM Martz and what's-his-name from Denver could be potent. Glenn 02-01-2010, 04:34 PM Wife of ex-Cowboys player Jay Novacek found dead 03:25 PM CST on Monday, February 1, 2010 WFAA-TV BURLESON - The wife of Jay Novacek, a former Dallas Cowboys tight end, was found dead Monday morning at a Burleson home. From 1985 to 1989, he played for the St Louis Cardinals, which became the Phoenix Cardinals in 1989. In 2008, Novacek was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. Tahoe 02-03-2010, 06:12 PM DWIGHT FREENEY HAS A SPRAINED ANKLE! I doubt y'all heard that yet. ESPN is covering it. Glenn 02-05-2010, 02:46 PM Michael Irvin accused of rape in civil suit http://bit.ly/dyCtPm Tahoe 02-06-2010, 09:01 PM W Sapp arrested for Domestic Violence. He will not be on the air manana. Glenn 02-22-2010, 04:57 PM LT released by the Chargers. Zekyl 02-23-2010, 11:01 PM Wondered if/when that would happen. Vinny 02-23-2010, 11:06 PM Brian Westbrook released too. Gotta assume the Lions will overpay one of them as a starter, right?? Tahoe 02-23-2010, 11:07 PM These guys will go to a contender, right? Zekyl 02-23-2010, 11:12 PM One will go to a contender, the other will go to money/playing time. Vinny 02-23-2010, 11:17 PM I think they both still consider themselves starters, Lions tend to be the only ones to agree on such things. Tahoe 02-23-2010, 11:23 PM I think it would be a mistake for the Lions to sign either of these guys considering what they'd be asking for and the fact that we aren't even close to competing...which leads me to believe we might sign one of these 2. DrRay11 02-24-2010, 08:40 AM nah.. this regime isn't about signing late-career guys to long-term deals, from what I gather (thankfully). I would say we're more likely to go after a guy like Jerious Norwood or Chester Taylor (who's no spring chicken, but doesn't have too many miles)... WTFchris 02-24-2010, 09:52 AM Lions don't need any of those guys. Westbrook and LT don't provide any skill sets that Smith doesn't already have. Sure, they were a lot better in their prime, but they are past that. Lions need a downhill runner to complement Smith. I honestly haven't seen enough of Norwood to know his style of running. Does he fit that bill? DrRay11 02-24-2010, 10:26 AM Norwood would be more of a "home-run" threat that they mentioned than a downhill runner. Does he fit that bill? I don't think anyone is sure Smith is coming back. The possibility that Smith won't return is the only reason these guys and the Lions are mentioned in the same sentence, IMO. Sent from my iPhone Glenn 02-28-2010, 02:15 PM Apparently, Tebow ran some kind of 'cone drill' at the combine today and his time was 6.66 RegicideGreg 02-28-2010, 03:00 PM I knew he was the antichrist Tahoe 02-28-2010, 09:28 PM 24...thats pretty funny. Zekyl 03-01-2010, 11:22 PM I bet he cried like he just lost the National Championship. WTFchris 03-02-2010, 10:08 AM I don't think anyone is sure Smith is coming back. The possibility that Smith won't return is the only reason these guys and the Lions are mentioned in the same sentence, IMO. Sent from my iPhone Well if that is the case I would sign either to a 1 year deal as insurance. Neither will get a feature role with another team, this might be their best shot at that. I'd also consider Thomas Jones for the same type of role. Either way I'm not spending a high pick on a RB until I know Smith is done for good. RB's have small shelf lives and I'm not investing a top pick on one to put behind a marginal OL and continue to have no pass rush. I don't know if you suggested that, but people on here have talked about Spiller and other RBs. |
