View Full Version : Calderon
Glenn 01-06-2010, 09:16 AM The Raps like Jarrett Jack at PG, so they're going to shop Calderon.
1. Would you want him?
2. What would you give up? Pretty much has to include one of our SGs, I would think.
3. Would they want ^?
Jose Calderon
09/10 $8,219,009
10/11 $9,000,000
11/12 $9,780,993
12/13 $10,561,985
Glenn 01-06-2010, 09:17 AM Calderon and Rasho (expiring) for Rip?
I think Rasho signed a 1 year deal, so he'd have to approve it.
Guard rotation
Calderon/Bynum/Atkins
Stuckey/Gordon
Glenn 01-06-2010, 09:46 AM I thought about derailing my own thread with a Bosh/Calderon for Rip/Stuck/Kwame/Charlie option, but I'll leave that for Pharaoh.
Hermy 01-06-2010, 09:47 AM We wouldn't need to make these trades if we drafted right.
Anyway, I'd consided that deal. Not as big a Calderon fan as many, his D is right there with Nash as worst in the league, but he fits the bill.
WTFchris 01-06-2010, 11:34 AM I wouldn't send Stuckey unless Bosh was coming back. I'd do RIP for Calderon and filler though. Stuckey slides to SG and can play some SF in 3 guard lineups at times when BG is in there.
I'd try hard for a deal with Bosh in it though.
Pharaoh 01-06-2010, 07:04 PM I think dealing Rip for Calderon and an expiring contract is a rather good move if we could do it.
And it helps Toronto big time. It sends a message to Bosh that they are willing to add quality players to keep him and elevate the team. In a worst case scenario (Bosh bolts - they get nothing) they'd still have Bargnani, Hedo, Rip and Jack.
For us we move Stuckey to his natural position, we gain a real live PG that can direct the play/run an offense and we'd get some cap relief.
We be:
Ben Wallace/Kwame
Super Nova/Maxiell
Tayshaun/Jerebko/Daye
Stuckey/BG
Jose/Bynum/Atkins
Then we could deal Prince and Kwame for a capable big man to take over at C and there is your team for the next 3 or 4 years.
WTFchris 01-07-2010, 11:14 AM Yeah, i think you could get a decent center for Prince and Kwame. Not a bosh type, but maybe a Beidrins type or even Okafor type if we are lucky.
Pharaoh 01-08-2010, 04:43 AM Nobody likes the deals we've proposed for Biedrins.
I do think Okafor is very "get-able". It just depends on what we're willing to part with.
I'd be willing to part with all the losing.
Glenn 01-08-2010, 05:44 PM Didn't you "love watching this team" about 2 weeks ago?
Glenn 01-08-2010, 05:45 PM To be fair, I guess that was before "all the losing".
So, I'm supposed to want the team to lose forever?
Glenn 01-08-2010, 05:52 PM That's not a bad point, right there.
Pharaoh 01-11-2010, 06:35 AM Any more news on Calderon GD?
Jack is still starting at PG, right?
Any rumours of him being shopped?
Where's the info, man?
Zekyl 01-13-2010, 10:03 PM Hedo is actually a great fit with Rip, IMO. He's a great distributor, which Rip thrives on. He's got serious range, which opens up Rip's mid-range game. I think that's actually a pretty good lineup for the Raptors. Question, though. Who becomes their backup PG in that situation? Do they have someone that can step up if they move Calderon? Not likely to be a dealbreaker, but it's something they'd have to consider.
Pharaoh 01-14-2010, 03:21 AM Marco Beliniliililili could handle the back-up PG duties if they dealt Jose, though Hedo would effectively run the offense from the SF spot allowing them to play a "big" backcourt
Glenn 01-14-2010, 07:18 AM Yeah, Hedo has been bitching this week about not getting the touches he needs to be the playmaking "PG" he was in Orlando.
Zekyl 01-14-2010, 06:04 PM Rip doesn't handle the ball. Hedo would love that.
