Larry Brown talking to reporters this morning when Pistons Rip Hamilton walked by. "Greatest coach of all time right there," Hamilton said.
Bobcats starters Wallace, Jackson say they'll play vs. Pistons. Flip Murray (ankle, family matter) is out.
:emo kid:
Timone 12-22-2009, 02:49 PM Is Flip related to Brittany Murphy?
Atticus771 12-22-2009, 04:43 PM Too soon, TBeau. I just stopped crying.
Uncle Mxy 12-22-2009, 09:34 PM So Ben Wallace makes all his FTs while Stuckey and Bynum miss half theirs...
Clever. Devilishly clever.
Kstat 12-22-2009, 09:35 PM a bad team beat a worse one. End of story.
Glenn 12-22-2009, 09:44 PM Horrible game to watch, just horrible.
Kstat 12-22-2009, 09:51 PM Stat of the night:
The Pistons got 9 steals in the 4th quarter. NINE.
Off of those 9 steals, they went 1/8 from the floor for 2 points, and 0/2 from the FT line.
I didn't even think that was possible. 9 steals in a quarter and you only get 2 points out of that?
shags 12-22-2009, 09:52 PM The injuries are catching up to us now. That, and we're a bad road team.
The bright spot was Chris Wilcox.
Kstat 12-22-2009, 09:53 PM More than that, we're a terrible shooting team.
It wasn't their intensity, or level of play. They are simply incapable of making open shots. There are three pure shooters on this roster, and all three of them are hurt.
So... the closest thing to a double-double by anyone on the team was 8 boards and 6 points by Ben, and 2 players scored in double digits. That does sound painful to watch.
Glenn 12-22-2009, 09:53 PM The ball looked like it was covered in KY jelly in the 4th quarter.

Kstat 12-22-2009, 10:00 PM So... the closest thing to a double-double by anyone on the team was 8 boards and 6 points by Ben, and 2 players scored in double digits. That does sound painful to watch.
It was worse than that, because the bobcats were throwing the ball away like drunken sailors. So many of the Pistons misses were on fast breaks.
Uncle Mxy 12-22-2009, 11:11 PM A team that can make shots beats a team that cannot.
There's a shocker.
Pharaoh 12-23-2009, 07:54 AM So, here's a simple question:
When Prince, Rip and Gordon are missing and we have guys that can't score with a $2 whore in the starting line up why, oh why don't we play Austin Daye and DaJuan Summers more minutes?
From all reports they are healthy, like to shoot and obviously need to develop their skills. Only so much development can be done in practice.
Put them in the game, throw Kwame out there to showcase his expiring contract and see what they can do. We're hanging around the top 8 in the East, but more could be done to develop some players for further down the road.
And seriously, can we change the starting line-up already? We're digging holes we can't climb out of with Big Ben, Maxiell, Jerebko, Stuckey and Atkins. Put Nova in for Max and see what happens - at least we'd have 2 offensive options to start the fucking game.
Atticus771 12-23-2009, 10:45 AM ^The offensively-challenged starting 5 worked for a bit, but it's time to end the experiment. I'd give Summers some starts -- he'd be so jacked to play that he'd do really well, IMO. Also, I'd place CV31 in over Maxiell, for sure.
Stuckey
Summers
Jerebko
CV
Ben
There is definitely more scoring there, and I think Summers is versatile enough to make it work.
Glenn 12-23-2009, 11:07 AM Start Summers at the 2?
We have a bazillion 2s and that's the best we can do?
I miss Deron Washington.
Glenn 12-23-2009, 11:12 AM Given what we have to work with right now, I'd much rather do this
Bynum/Atkins
Stuckey/Daye
JJ/Summers/Daye
CV31/Max
Ben/Wilcox/Kwame
But then again, "positions are antiquated".
Glenn 12-23-2009, 11:15 AM Even though he has been struggling some, the refusal to start Bynum is just stupid, he can generate offense for himself and others. Put the best 5 available players out there.
Kstat 12-23-2009, 12:54 PM he hasnt generated shit in weeks.
Glenn 12-23-2009, 12:58 PM We're starting Chucky Atkins.
Kstat 12-23-2009, 12:59 PM Chucky since Bynum got hurt has been better than Bynum. Bynam is struggling to accumulate more points than turnovers. His shot has totally disappeared, while Atkins's shot is getting more and more consistent.
Either he's too hurt to go like he used to, or defenses have him figured out. He's not good enough to start over atkins right now.
Glenn 12-23-2009, 01:03 PM Bynum's ability to drive and/or dish puts defenses on their heels. Chucky makes defenses LOL.
Kstat 12-23-2009, 01:04 PM his ability to drive isn't there. The other guard just stands 5 feet off of him and stares at him when he goes into his dribble moves now. Every one of his drives now is forced into the teeth of the defense.
