Why for Toronto?
This boosts up their defense substantially. Also gives them a solid chip for the future in Stuckey.
Why for Detroit?
Worst case scenario is they get a half year of Bosh, see an increase in ticket sales and then figure out what to do with the cap space. Best scenario is Bosh finding a home, resigning and becoming their franchise player.
Cross 12-03-2009, 01:36 PM They have no 4. If turk could actually play the 4, i'd see that as a possibility.
WTFchris 12-03-2009, 02:22 PM 9 mil for a backup PG (Calderon) and 5 mil for a 3rd string PG (Jack) would sting them next year.
Vinny 12-03-2009, 02:26 PM Calderon would start over Stuckey.
Koolaid 12-03-2009, 04:04 PM If Turk is starting I would probably start Stuckey. I view Turk as the best compliment to Stuckey you can have. Then again if the Raptors realize that he's not really PG quicker than Detroit did then Calderon would get the nod.
I could have sworn I've seen Turk get some burn as a PF as well. Maybe I'm wrong about that though. The Pistons got a lot of options they could dump off to them in return, and maybe they could get a PG in return too.
Vinny 12-03-2009, 04:14 PM Good point on Turk running the offense.
Turk has played some 4 in his career but it wasn't necessarily a good thing.
Koolaid 12-03-2009, 05:21 PM Throw in Maxiell and take back Calderon. That might work.

Turk and Lewis played the 3 and 4 in Orlando. Not sure which you consider the 4 because they are both tweener forwards.

that's pretty much pushing it now

what do you mean?
I thought Toronto was disappointed with Calderon.
Pistons could throw in a pick too.
Pharaoh 12-05-2009, 08:18 AM So Toronto is now dealing Bosh, Calderon, Banks and Wright?
And they take back Prince, Rip, Stuckey, Maxiell and a pick?
Where do I sign up for the drugs you're on?
How about we wait until July 2010 and try to get Bosh via a sign and trade using Prince's expiring deal, our 2010 Pick, Stuckey and/or Daye?
Then we could be:
Big Ben
Bosh/Nova/Maxiell/Wilcox
Jerebko/Summers
Rip/BG
Stuckey/Bynum
with a MLE player in there as well

because if bosh signs for a sign and trade, it's definitely not going to be to go to Detroit. He'd say 'fuck that' and sign with Miami, leaving Toronto not getting shit in return.
Pharaoh 12-10-2009, 10:23 PM And do you really think Chris Bosh seems like the kind of guy that is gonna bolt for LESS money?
Bosh is a smart dude. If he wants out of Toronto (and he should cause they haven't done shit for years) he'll force a sign and trade to a destination of his choice.
That could be Miami, who would have cap space to to the majority of his massive contract while parting with very little...
or it could be to Detroit, where Nova is, Gordon is, Rip is, Big Ben is, where Joe Dumars is.
IF Bosh makes it known he's interested in coming to Detroit Joe will roll out the red carpet in a major way. It will be his chance to add a Franchise player. Someone that is not even in his prime yet.
I could see Toronto with this line-up:
C: Bargnani/Their own 2010 Pick
F: Turkoglu/Our 2010 Pick
F: Prince/Daye
G: Stuckey/DeRozan/Marco
G: Jose/Jack
That line up has potential, is flexible and has a nice mix of veterans and youth. With 2 rookie bigs and the youth on the perimeter one could argue the team would be in a better position than it is now
