Ron Artest of Los Angeles Lakers says he drank booze at halftime of NBA games - http://tinyurl.com/yzasx9q

Personally, I don’t know what’s crazier: the fact that Artest was drinking during games or that he walked to the liquor store to buy his booze before games. But from all the quotes that I’ve seen, I think the one that should get the most attention is surrounding Artest’s feelings toward Ben Wallace.

“I see Ben, I’m on my guard now,” Artest says in the interview. “I’m always in the mood to fight him. … I’ll get suspended 10 games, 15 games (because) I’ll just fight him right there. It won’t go into the stands.”

If that’s not chalkboard fodder then I don’t know what is. And when the Lakers head to Detroit on Sunday, December 20 for a 3:00pm showdown with the Pistons, you better believe I’ll be tuning in on League Pass.

For some reason I suspect that one or both of those players will coincidentally be injured, suspended or otherwise unavailable for that meeting. If it comes to it, Stern might kneecap one of them them himself.

I'm sure this is exactly what the Lakers wanted when they signed Ron Artest. Dude's a ticking time bomb.

The funny thing is Ron Artest thinks he'd only get 10-15 games. It's one thing to get into a fight because emotions are running high during a game, it's another to do some shit premeditated. I'm sure he'd do some punk ass shit like elbow him in the back of the head like he did to start the brawl. Truth is he didn't want any of Ben then and he didn't do shit when they played since then. This is Ron talking shit trying to save street cred.

I bet Michael Curry was drinking at the half, too.

I wonder if Stuckey drinks during halftime? it would explain a few things.

If the Pistons keep losing players I might start drinking at halftime too.

We all said this a few years ago, but Ben would kick the shit out of him. No contest. There, I said it again.

Maybe someone else should start, too, then, because he's the only dude actually doing anything out on the court lately.

not in the 2nd half.

unless you count chucking bricks up as doing something.

He manages to not get his ass kicked on defense, helps out immensely on the glass, and doesnt require a 2nd defender. Even if he doesnt score a point, at least he does that in the 2nd half.

I'll meet you half way and agree that some of his shots are bricks, Koolaid, but mostly in the 2nd half. But he's still been our best overall player of late. I wasn't assuming that you were sticking so tightly to the 2nd half aspect of your thought.

Stuckey and Ben Wallace are 1a and 1b so far this season. Nobody else has been remotely close.

But if Artest was on the team, the Pistons couldn't have signed Ben Wallace, the player whom he fought with in The Palace brawl. The two showed no ill will when they greeted each other Sunday before the Lakers' 93-81 victory at The Palace, but there's still tension and bad blood between the two.

That's dumb. Teammates don't always have to like each other. I could see tension between those two turning into damn good on court basketball, because even if they hate each other those two are not going to play different.

A team in transition/rebuilding like the pistons would become a circus with Artest.

Why is he mad at Ben anyway? They barely did a damn thing (compared to the Knicks and Heat brawls back in the day). He should be pissed at Jon Greene. Had he never thrown a cup the fight would have been forgotten long ago.

that didn't happen in sacramento.

Not saying i want Artest in Detroit, but I can't see it playing out too badly.
