Can we keep Camby & Kaman off the glass? Do we have anyone that can score efficiently? Can we stop this losing streak?

Until I see otherwise, I'm guessing no on all counts.

That's the spirit, Glan. You know what they say about pessimism: you're either right, or pleasantly surprised.

Also, I appreciate what Mickey York is doing for us. Without him, how else will we be able to check out what's going on in other games??

After what seemed like a whole season where nothing positive ever happened after a time out, this is a nice change of pace.

Bynum is fine, the depleted roster is just putting demands on him that he simply doesn't have the game to deliver on. Get Rip and BG back in the lineup and Bynum goes back into his box and he's the valuable spark plug his skills are suited to.

K-stat is a fucking dumbass.

Bynum just put up 4-17 for 14 points when everybody was out with an injury. He also managed to get 9 ASSISTS with 1 TURNOVER while being the primary ball handler.

funny how when Stuckey put up consecutive 4-15, 6-19, 7-20 and 5-18 games, with everybody except rip and he ain't pass to none of 'em, your ass wasn't saying shit. Now you wanna flip balls cuz Bynum shot poorly. It's obvious what your angle is, you just wanna flip balls for stuckey... with ya tongue. Prolly jackin it to 50 cent album right now thinking bout him. It's all good you wanna use stuck's nut to get stuck's nuts stuck to ya nuck, just don't expect anybody with a brain to buy your bullshit.

Cause what you don't mention is the difference in size and defense that Stuckey provides.

Fellas, both sides of the story has merit... hopefully PG is the least of our worries.. can we focus on the lack of production from our bigs?

DrRay11

Jonas!

Really, I'm impressed by his effort. If he stays under control and consistently knocks down the J like he did last night he is going to be solid for us for awhile.

Can Stuckey defend at PG?

Didn't the opposing PG in this game score a ton of points?

DrRay11
11-28-2009, 11:54 PM
If we're talking about Baron Davis, then I know I watched Bynum suck ass hell against him. He was guarding him 'cuz Stuckey got into B.S. foul trouble (it was B.S.). But yeah, I remember Bynum getting schooled often by Davis.

Uncle Mxy

I'm not talking Bynum, though. I'm talking Stuckey.

With BG and Bynum, most of Stuckey defending is at the wing. Last year, I noted that he was a lot better defending at SG than at PG, but I don't know enough about how he's improved defending at PG.

I don't mention it for a reason. I really don't care if a pg can guard SFs. I'd much rather have one who can pass the fucking ball.

and your defensive comparisson ain't shit either. They both are good, but they play different games. Stuck plays D like a SG/SF, and Bynum pressures the ball like a PG. It's like comparring Bruce Bowen and Lindsey Hunter.

Pharaoh
11-29-2009, 05:02 AM
Um, I wouldn't say both are pretty good.

I'd say Stuckey has proven to be good on certain positions/players while Bynum has not proven to be better than average against anyone.

But don't let that stop you from pimping your boy.

Bynum is a terrrible defender that's gotten exposed.

Even on their worst nights, Stuckey plays good defense and Bynum doesn't. That's a fact. No amount of hero worship is going to change it.

I was at the game, front row. Stuckey kept Baron under wraps until the BS fouls forced him out of the game.

As soon as Bynum checked in, it was Baron ISO against Bynum, every time down. And Baron either shot over the top or posted up and beat him up in the post. Eventually they had to double him and he found kaman for easy jumpers. It was embarrassing.

Uncle Mxy
11-29-2009, 12:25 PM
Baron racked up 13 of his 25 points in the 15 minutes that Bynum wasn't on the court. That's Bynum's fault?

that's bull. Bynum got "exposed" by Baron Davis. The strongest PG in the game right now. He still defends the other 99 percent of PGs better because he can actually pressure them on D all the way up the court.

Pharaoh
11-29-2009, 06:49 PM
So according to you, Koolaid Baron Davis is the ONLY PG in the league that can school Bynum.

I get your points. So do a lot of guards whenever Bynum "pressures" them.

But you keep singing that tune.

And don't let the fact that you're off-key bother you one little bit.

Rock out with your cock out, dude.

Uncle Mxy

Once more, with feeling...

Bynum was on the court for 33 minutes. Baron scored 12 points in that time.
Bynum was off the court for 15 minutes. Baron scored 13 points in that time.

Why are folks criticizing Bynum for not containing Baron, when Baron did over half his damage when Bynum wasn't even on the court?

Pharaoh
11-29-2009, 08:21 PM
Cause it's not all about how many points his opposite number scores, Mxy and you're smart enough to know that.

Things I wonder:

How many times did Baron abuse Bynum and then set up someone else for an easy shot?

How many times did Baron abuse Bynum, drawing a different defender and then he dished to someone else who swung the ball to an open man?

IF he's abusing Bynum or Stuckey (or anyone else for that matter) that shit matters. You blow your assignment and it impacts the whole squad.

But you know that Mxy. You're one of the smartest fuckers on here.

Obviously, defense is to no small degree a team effort.

Individual numbers are (at best) approximations and can be misleading, especially in the context of a single game. I don't assume solely based off Bynum having a +/- of -2 and Stuckey having a -12 that Bynum was a better fit in the team, better in the game, etc.

But, when I'm reading stuff like "Baron ISO'ed Bynum and shot over him every time" and I don't observe some burst in individual or team scoring that would reasonably accompany such an outburst (or see Bynum's minutes curtailed because he sucks), I get suspicious.
