i am glad he screwed Memphis for a few games, so everyone could see it was all AIs fault, and the Pistons didn't do anything wrong...

he can now hang out with Marbury

Fuck AI, dude will be known as a guy who was never a team player, so much so that he'd rather kill his own career than help a team whatever way he can. He'll never be up there with the greats imo.

Agree with Gutz to a certain extent.

Iverson was once the little man that could, known for his heart and passion.

Then it just all went to shit and he'll be remembered for being a selfish player who hated practice and as someone who wouldn't do what was best for "his" team.

Most of his naysayers back hen said that he tended to be a ball hog. Constantly he was defended by "well his teammates suck", the truth is that he was a selfish guy that had no intentions of sharing glory with anyone that he did consider to be his basketball equal..

Naysayers can get fucked.

Real fans know about the Philly squad that went to the Finals.

What a shitty crew - they even won a game!

At that time a lot of people loved AI.

He fucked it up all by himself though.

According to Ric Bucher, when he was with the Grizzlies, AI yelled from the back of the team bus, "I played for a dumb ass last year, and I'm playing for one again".

Still think he'll be a Knick, they just need to move a contract first to make room.

OK, I'm no Iverson fan, but that's pretty funny if true.

Do they have 15 players, GD?

Iverson in NY would get them publicity but he does nothing for the win/loss record IMO.

The only dude that looks like he gives a shit about their win/loss record is David Lee. He's a double double machine but that team is all kinds of fucked up.

IF Lebron signs there I'll be extremely surprised. He can get money from Cleveland. He's a Global superstar already. The only thing left is to win titles.

How does going to NY get him closer to a title?

Shit, he'd be better off going to Miami.

OK, I'm no Iverson fan, but that's pretty funny if true.

In order for that to be true, though, it'd require him actually riding on the team bus.

Glenn
11-27-2009, 08:13 AM
He loves Atlantic City. He'd be back on the big stage. He wouldn't hurt their cap situation for next year. The Knick fans want him. It isn't and never was about winning this year, this would just be throwing a bone to the fans to thank them for "being patient". It makes all the sense in the world to me.

Pharaoh
11-27-2009, 08:14 AM
Apparently he did yell it out.

The Grizz Coach was sitting at the front of the bus, too.

Next day Iverson was "excused to attend to a family matter"

Obviously they didn't need his dumbass fucking up their young core.

BTW, how come no one gives a shit about their young core and everyone hypes OKC?

Glenn

By the way, Nate Rob is the main guy that I would expect them to move, can't play them both, and he was mostly just signed as an asset anyways. Would have to be after 12/15 though, I think, which means all of this could be a front to mask what is possibly already a done deal. Nate + another player for an expiring deal. Then AI is signed.

And with that post, I feel like this has become another pro wrestling thread.

And with that post, I feel like this has become another pro wrestling thread.

WTF?

Why?

And if Nate is dealt does the team that acquires him get his Bird Rights?

I thought if you signed that final qualifying offer like Lee, Felton and Nate that you then became an unrestricted FA the next off season...

BUT if you got traded to a team YOU approved that team did not acquire your Bird Rights.

I think that's how it works.

WWE=scripted, just like I'm speculating about his retirement and the pre-arranged
knicks trade.

If he ends up back in Philly, it will be yet another Glantradomous prediction of epic proportion (circa last year).

Sixers media conference call canceled after someone on call barked out Tiger question and kept saying something about AI and "white women."

I was a fan of the previous 76er unis (and court), but I guess changing it back makes sense, what with the patriotic theme and all.

No, fuck that. Red, white and blue is for the Pistons ONLY.

We'll settle this shit on the court Wednesday.

Most here won't like the topic, but Halberstam was a helluva writer. (from 2001)

I just checked out Halberstam's book about Portland that yargs pointed me at, and I agree. I'd heard about it before, but hadn't gotten around to reading it.

Simmons "Big Book Of Basketball" came to me at the same time, which is good in a Bill Simmons Celtic glasses kinda way. I'm in baller book heaven.

Glenn

I'm thinking about asking for Simmons' book for xmas.

But I don't normally "read books" so I'm not sure.

Long ass article GD but that season I think showed what Iverson was at that point and what he could be.

It's just a shame he couldn't continue it, cause that Finals was awesome. That was when Slam magazine said "In the future playing hurt will be known as Answering" cause the guy always played hurt.

Was that the playoffs when he took an elbow to the mouth from Ray Allen and instead of coming out of the game he spat the blood on his chest and wiped it with his jersey so the refs didn't notice?

Great memories - I guess it's better to burn out fast than fade away slowly after all...

Pharaoh

If true you can look on the brightside:

His ex will take half his money so he'll have less to drink and gamble with

After a season under Curry I'm surprised the entire roster didn't have a drinking problem.
