View Full Version : 2009/10 NBA Trade Rumors
yargs 02-12-2010, 11:05 AM I'd piss on any deal that helped the Cavs win a title.
Screw that attitude. Our second biggest rival after the bulls helped us win the title in 2004 (celtics). You do what you have to do to make yourself better. No one else matters. If dealing rip to the cavs makes this team better then you do it.
We're about to enter a multiple championship era anyway for lebron so who really cares?
Glenn 02-12-2010, 12:47 PM Second Pistons trade rumor is Det trade Rip to Cavs for Delonte West, Jawad Williams & J.J. Hickson
http://twitter.com/Sportsfan4113
Kstat 02-12-2010, 01:24 PM that's a nice haul for us. JJ Hickson is a really nice young PF. Only problem is, the salaries don't match up. We'd need Gibson or Anthony Parker in the deal as well.
Pharaoh 02-13-2010, 06:43 AM Remember the Keith Van Horn deal?
No, I don't lol
And the Cavs could have Rip for West, Moon and Hickson IIRC. Maybe have to add Jawad Williams but...
That's a big, steaming, stinking pile of monkey spunk for Rip.
Black Dynamite 02-13-2010, 08:13 AM Screw that attitude.
Fuck you too.
Black Dynamite 02-13-2010, 08:17 AM And the Cavs could have Rip for West, Moon and Hickson IIRC. .
Cavs win with that deal all day. Apparently people's idea of a good team for us is warped. Moon is overrated, Hickson is garbage on defense, and West is a bipolar nut job whose one loose breakdown from going bison dele on whatever team he's on. Lose harder concept i guess for the next lottery pick, nt really my cup of tea.
MoTown 02-13-2010, 12:19 PM I talked to a Cavs fan today who is convinced Rip is overrated and wouldn't work on the Cavs. I would hate to see Rip in a Cavs jersey, but they win the championship with him, no question. He adds a dimension to that team that they don't have - a mid-range game. They have tons of 3 point specialists, a couple solid big men and LeBron.
Game over if Rip is on that team.
Zekyl 02-13-2010, 02:10 PM I think Rip is perfectly rated.
-No one considers him an all-star.
-No one thinks he can be your best player but that he can be a great complimentary player.
-Everyone thinks he's got a bad contract.
-Everyone knows he's got a phenomenal mid-range game but he shouldn't handle the ball
That's pretty accurate to me.
Hermy 02-13-2010, 02:19 PM He was an all-star. He may be again.
He was our best playoff performer for 5 years.
He passes well off the dribble.
MoTown 02-13-2010, 06:01 PM -He wears a mask.
mercury 02-13-2010, 07:43 PM He runs well in circles
Glenn 02-14-2010, 10:47 AM Broussard says Amar'e for Big Z/Hickson is close.
Joe Asberry 02-14-2010, 12:03 PM Amare, Butler, Haywood for expiring contracts + marginal talent...
i am still kinda pissed/amazed what you can get for expiring contracts this season compared to last season...
MoTown 02-14-2010, 03:09 PM Why are GM's just giving their talent away? This is bullshit.
I hope the Cavs land Amare, they don't win the title, both he and LeBron bolt, and the Cavs are set back 10 years. I would be the happiest basketall fan on earth.
Kstat 02-14-2010, 03:26 PM Atlanta domated Rasheed to us back in the day, was that bullshit too?
Joe Asberry 02-14-2010, 03:52 PM RIP for Damp?
There are rumors that the Mavericks may not be done making moves yet, as a Rip Hamilton for Erick Dampier trade seems to make perfect sense.
The Mavericks still have a hole at shooting guard, while the Pistons have too many, and Dampier is still worth of starting at center for the Pistons. It's far from being a done deal, but the move would seem to make sense for both teams.

is this a fansite? to me it sounds like this guy is just speculating, but it did make rotoworld.com
MoTown 02-14-2010, 03:55 PM Atlanta domated Rasheed to us back in the day, was that bullshit too?
Yes, Kstat, the one trade six years ago that was considered a theft was bullshit.
Tahoe 02-14-2010, 04:05 PM 266 If it made Rotoworld, its as good as done.
Uncle Mxy 02-14-2010, 04:53 PM Amare hasn't been traded yet. The Phoenix franchise doesn't have the problems (dead owner, toxic stupor-star) that Washington does. Amare is well-positioned to be "the man" when 36-year old Steve Nash stops having great years. My hunch is that Amare's going nowhere, ends up taking $15 millionish/year to stay in Phoenix. If they do trade Amare, they'll package him with other contracts like JRich to bid for a superstar in the offseason.
At least, that's the vibe my family in Phoenix has, and it sounds right to me.
RegicideGreg 02-14-2010, 05:30 PM I get the feeling that Phoenix trades Amare but will likely wait until 3pm on thursday to get it done. They want the absolute best they can get, not the crap offer from cleveland. They likely will try to tack on barbosa or richardson to the deal.

Herm would do it.
Tahoe 02-15-2010, 11:55 AM Maybe Joe can get something for him this time.
BIG BEN'S FRO 02-15-2010, 01:02 PM LOL Ben Wallace for AA and a lotto protected first. Now that would be funny.
Glenn 02-15-2010, 01:12 PM And then we can sign Walter Sharpe, to.......................................
Joe Asberry 02-15-2010, 08:23 PM he Knicks and Rockets have made progress on a proposed trade that would send Jared Jeffries, Jordan Hill and either Al Harrington or Larry Hughes in exchange for Tracy McGrady, Joey Dorsey and Brian Cook.
Yahoo! Sports reports that "an agreement is within reach" and that the two teams are "increasingly confident" that the trade will be completed before Thursday's deadline.
In a part of the deal described as "fluid," the Knicks might swap 2011 picks with the Rockets and/or send their 2012 pick to Houston. One of New York's 2010 second-round picks could also be sent to the Rockets.
The deal would give the Rockets young talent in exchange for McGrady, a player no longer in the team's plans, while the Knicks have a look at McGrady the rest of this season and clear approximately $9.5 million more of salary cap room for their summer free-agent pursuits. Unless the salary cap drops dramatically -- which is no longer expected -- the Knicks' ability to shed Jeffries, along with Hill, could open up the extra cap space needed to offer a second maximum contract this summer.
the Knicks could be giving up three lottery picks to get rid off Jeffries final year...wow
Glenn 02-15-2010, 08:37 PM For two max superstars, well worth it, IMO.
Zekyl 02-15-2010, 09:20 PM For two max superstars, well worth it, IMO.
Two max superstars and zero supporting cast. We've seen that get a lot of teams nowhere.
RegicideGreg 02-15-2010, 09:23 PM Assume in they get two superstars. Assuming makes an ass of you an me
Zekyl 02-15-2010, 09:32 PM Actually, it makes an ass out of you and Yao Ming

Ray doesn't play any D either, so that doesn't matter much. The key is whether Biedrins helps them with Howard, Shaq, Gasol/Bynum in addition to the extra offense of him and Ellis.

Kaman
Marc Stein: The Clippers fended off interest in newly minted All-Star center Chris Kaman before trading Marcus Camby to Portland on Monday.
Detroit needs a big man who can score and, according to sources close to the situation, recently followed up its interest in Utah's Carlos Boozer and Phoenix's Amare Stoudemire by trying to pry Kaman away from the Clips with a package headlined by Tayshaun Prince.
Don't forget that Kaman, besides ranking as one of the few players in the league averaging at least 20 points and nine rebounds this season, is a Michigan native.
Yet sources say the Clips made it clear that Kaman -- who has two seasons left on his contract after this one at a combined $23.5 million, compared to one more year left for Prince at $11.1 million -- was not available.
So with DeAndre Jordan in the Clips' center rotation as well, they decided to ship Camby to the Blazers for Travis Outlaw, Steve Blake and $1.5 million in cash, setting up Jordan as Kaman's new backup and leaving open the possibility that L.A. will be a free-agent factor this summer if it can ship out Al Thornton and/or Sebastian Telfair.
Tay for Kaman would have been possible before the season started, easily -.-

Black Dynamite 02-18-2010, 08:10 AM Pistons work phone lines as trade deadline nears
By Chris Iott
February 16, 2010, 9:15PM
AUBURN HILLS -- Things seemed to be quiet for the Detroit Pistons with the trade deadline approaching Thursday, but Marc Stein of ESPN.com wrote Tuesday that the Pistons have been working the phones.
Stein wrote that sources close to the situation told him that the Pistons approached the Los Angeles Clippers about trading for center Chris Kaman and offered Tayshaun Prince as part of the deal.
The Clippers said thanks but no thanks, according to Stein, who also said the Pistons have shown interest in Utah Jazz forward Carlos Boozer and Phoenix Suns forward Amare Stoudemire.
Kaman, a former Central Michigan University star and graduate of Wyoming Tri-unity Christian High School, is averaging 20.0 points and 8.9 rebounds per game for the Clippers.

Glenn 02-18-2010, 12:15 PM Detroit deadline deals: Looking dim
Feb 18, 11:37AM
By Chad Ford
The Detroit Pistons, who are struggling after spending most of the last decade as a contender, came into this year's trade season as a potential player. But with less than five hours to go before the deadline, a Pistons source told ESPN.com that the chances the Pistons make a deal look slim.
"There's a less than 10 percent chance," the source said. "There's just no deal that makes sense for us right now."
The Pistons had been hoping to use either Richard Hamilton or Tayshaun Prince to land a frontcourt player -- they especially had interest in Jazz forward Carlos Boozer. But with Prince's injuries and the Jazz playing terrific basketball during the past month, any interest Utah had in a deal have dried up.

Addition by subtraction.
