Langlois: NBA.com is providing game stories this season to all 30 team sites, so rather than writing another version of a game story to complement that coverage, I’ll be blogging after games this season to provide something a little different – a big picture point of view, in your words. It’ll be a little more analytical, an attempt to put the game just played in context. For example, after Tuesday’s win over Orlando – in which the Pistons played without both Rip Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince against one of the two or three hottest teams in the NBA – the story for me was how the Pistons still went into that game believing they had a chance to win and what that says about the environment that Joe Dumars and John Kuester have established. What you didn’t get a chance to see in the early going, Drew, was a new service that the NBA tested for the first few games and just rolled out for the Orlando game. It’s called TV companion and it’s a way to follow the game on-line – with stats, shot charts, box scores and play by play – as you’re watching it on TV. As a part of that, Pistons.com will be conducting live chats in game. I’ll be doing it some of the time and Ryan Pretzer, who’s writing a more in-depth pregame report than we’ve ever provided, will be doing it some of the time, and we’ll also throw other contributors into the mix who have expertise in other areas of the Pistons’ organization from time to time. It adds up to the most comprehensive Pistons coverage you’ll find on the Internet.

From a practical standpoint, there's only room for so many players - and so many rookies - in the rotation. He's a half-step behind the other rookies right now because he hasn't yet established that one thing he does really well (like Daye's shot or Jerebko's D) and is having to adjust to guarding high-caliber athletes on the perimeter, when he spent most of his college career guarding closer to the rim.

Probably. I think Joe D and Carlisle had a good relationship. There were some things in play at the time he was let go that don't exist any more. Everybody recognizes Carlisle as a terrific coach. The reality of the NBA is coaches have a certain shelf life with any team - unless you're an iconic personality like a Phil Jackson or enjoy a unique relationship with the star player, as Gregg Popovich and Tim Duncan enjoy.

Keith Langlois: Flip at his best has some of Stuckey's characteristics. But Flip was really one-dimensioinal. If he wasn't scoring, he wasn't helping ... a weak defender and playmaker.

Poor defensive rebounding and a few critical mistakes cost us the game. They could have completed the comeback, honestly, if a couple more shots had gone down and they had just two more key stops. I enjoyed the game, even though they lost. This team will be good -- maybe not 50 win good, but 46 win good -- once healthy. They will probably go on some big streaks here and there.

I'll stick with my .500 prediction.

I just don't see Tay being a serious factor this season. I read somewhere about him being out and the word "ruptured" was used!

If he's got a ruptured disc then the guy is gonna be out for a long fucking time. And, to be honest, even if he was on board he's not exactly someone we could rely on to score 20 or be a lockdown defender anymore. He's not someone I'd be worried about having a big game if I was the opposition. Dude's not aggressive enough when fully fit

He's a Shane Battier type player which is to say his value on a quality team is PRICELESS but on a team not so great he's one of those guys you can live without.

We need Rip back though - he's a threat from all over the floor and teams know he's capable of scoring 20 every night so they can't just leave him open.

And that makes a trade almost impossible too, no?

V is developing into the 4th quarter go-to guy. The last two games he's worked over people in the post with his quickness.

Good to see the defense back that we've been missing during the road trip.

It feels like that's our first Sunday afternoon win in 10 years.

It's great to see Nova picking things up. I expected a slow start due to him missing pre-season and now it appears he's rolling. That's sweet.

With Gordon doing his thing, Stuckey and Bynum doing pretty well most of the time and our rooks helping out I think our perimeter is fine. Still need Rip, if only to lessen the load on BG every single night.

Tay? Sit out and recover. He's not required right now. It does hurt his trade value but you gotta look at the big picture.

Him missing games gives Daye and Walls of more minutes. We also might lose a few more games (getting a better draft pick is important). And more importantly we want him back at his best.

We don't want him out there at 90% or 95% - people will assume he's done. Wait it out and hope he can get back to 100% healthy before bringing back.

The problem with him returning (if he's out long-term) is that by the time he does get back Walls of and Daye might be really firing.
