i like knight's talent a lot and what he stands for (work ethic, determination) even more.

i'd love to see what he could learn under cheeks and billups. but I think I make that deal in a heartbeat. a healthy rondo paired with a young KCP, smith, Monroe and dre gives us a young core that can legitimately compete in the central division.

Detroit doesn’t have a first-round pick to offer because of the Ben Gordon deal that gave the Bobcats the choice of a Pistons draft pick over the next four seasons.

Because at the time we probably wanted to amnesty Nova this off-season

dumping BG and a pick for an expiring was the right move at the time. After dumping him and his poor attitude you play the season with Maggette and then when it's time you dump Maggette, Maxiell, Bynum... amnesty Nova.... probably have $12-15 mil to spend... and try to get a bargain or 2...

then Joe got the Calderon/Prince offer....

and plans changed
