Dantonio: Ray and Anderson removed from active roster
No reason given for move
By Chris Vannini
MSU head football coach Mark Dantonio announced Wednesday afternoon redshirt freshman running back Caulton Ray and sophomore running back Andre Anderson were removed from the team’s active roster.
Ray has 40 carries for 156 yards and one touchdown this season, while Anderson has two carries for four yards.
Ray began the season listed at No. 1 on the depth chart, but began receiving fewer carries each game as true freshman Larry Caper and Edwin Baker and sophomore Glenn Winston emerged.
Winston has since tore his ACL, so Caper and Baker have been receiving most of the carries.
When the Spartans’ depth chart was released Tuesday, senior A.J. Jimmerson was listed at No. 3, a spot Ray held for most of the season.
