I'm just happy Leyland picked Rick to pitch this game.

I had a bad feeling he was going to pick Nate Robertson due to the fact he won in the Metrodome (vs. Scott Baker, no less) a couple weeks ago and because he's a veteran.

Scott Baker is a good pitcher, but he's not a guy that will dominate hitters. He pitches to contact, and he's beatable...

I hope he uses the same lineup as today (except have Santiago play SS).

Well, Rodney should be ok to close with the day off. Is Seay still hurt? I would guess him or Minor, but since you don't need the 4th-5th starters you could use any of them too (Nate, Bonine, etc). Bonderman would be back, right?

I would use the NL method and use a lot of them to create the best matchups you can (even if they only pitch to 1-2 batters). It should be even more effective because AL teams usually don't have guys used to pinch hitting like NL teams do.

I would think that, worst case scenario, everyone would be available, even Verlander if it was the end of days (extra innings or something).

I think Randy Johnson was used in one of these a while back on very short rest after a start.

If Porcello struggles early, I could see JL using anyone to get a batter or 2 and then settling in, or trying to settle in with Miner, Nate, Bonine.
