There should at least be one for the first game, right?

3PM - Vs.

Games in Stockholm so it should be a homer crowd.

Cool, I won't have to watch on NHL.com.

It looks like they made it NHL size ice. Too bad. I was hoping they'd play on the larger size.

Feels good to have hockey back, actually. Finally get to work on getting the taste of the Finals out of our mouths.

Though every time I see Crosby anywhere I want to hit something.

Interesting how it's the Compuware NHL premiere. Living in the Raleigh-Durham area now, I have to explain to them how their team is owned by a Detroiter (it sort of pisses them off, which I just love). I think he brought over here a lot of his youth coaches too to handle his Cane youth teams. I've met a few now that were ex-Compuware coaches so, even though they say nothing, it just seems too much of a coincidence.

The princess isn't bad looking at all.

I'm not good at analyzing hockey, so you'll be getting typical LDB here.

1-0 St. Louis... DAMNIT!

Three Red Wings in front of our net just watching the puck. That's bad.

1-1, THEY ARE GOING TO GET FUCKED UP!

One day I am going to have you teach me hockey.

Anytime.

Great move by Draper getting to the net like that. He doesn't have much speed anymore but that was textbook puck protection.

Nice SH goal! Here's the breakdown LDB, if you are going to beat the pointman to the puck like Maltby, flip it off the boards and do NOT stop skating. There's no way he's ever going to be able to turn around and catch you. It's especially dangerous on the kill because the other team is usually in deep for the power play.

Note: And if you're the D-man there. If you can't reach the puck you HAVE to take the man.

That was a pretty bad 5-3 there. I don't think we even got a really good scoring chance out of it.

I'm going to be heading out, but keep the analysis coming.

Part of it has to be new faces. Williams replaced Sammy on the blue line. Hossa and Hudler are gone too. So 3 of our 10 power play guys are gone. It's not like the guys out there replacing them are duds (Williams and Bertuzzi have been in that role before), but they don't have the same chemistry. I saw several times that the D men were on the same side of the ice confused. It will get better.

Very good point. And they were only looking for point shots there. It did really look like no one knew which player should be breaking closer to the net.

I have to go and miss the second period unfortunately.

Oh yeah. Knew they'd score 3 in the second and didn't want to be a part of that :).

Datsyuk is so damn good. That would have been an amazing goal.

I saw Jimmy Howard's NHL Debut in person back in 2005 at the Staples Center (lost to the Kings)...

When is this guy going to finally get his first NHL win?

I have a feeling he's not going to make it as a backup, and will instead be another Norm Maracle or Joey MacDonald...
