View Full Version : Who should start Staff or CPep?
Tahoe 09-20-2009, 06:52 PM I think there was a poll like this already, but wondering if anyone changed their mind after 2 loses.
Should we start CPep and try to get a win? Or stick with the kid?
Glenn 09-20-2009, 07:39 PM Not going anywhere with Culpepper either, might as well start the learning curve now, rather than next year.
Tahoe 09-20-2009, 08:02 PM I think CPep wins this game today. So with that, I say go with CPep. Get the city a win. Get the fans and the team a win. Get that monkey...gorilla off the teams back. Let the kid learn a lil bit from the sidelines.
This team will be Staffs for a long time...or insert 'prolly' in there somewhere. A vet would be nice for players like CJ, Smith and even help our D out a lil bit. They get the ball back for our offense and it'd be nice if we scored.
Glenn 09-21-2009, 10:12 AM So you'll take a win or two this year in exchange for getting closer to being a legitimate NFL franchise someday?
WTFchris 09-21-2009, 10:21 AM I don't care about winning an extra game or two this year. I care about get Stafford ready for next year. Payton threw 26 TD's and 28 INT's his rookie year.
Game 1: 1 TD, 3 INT...Lost 24-15
Game 2: 1 TD, 3 INT...Lost 29-6
Game 3: 0 TD, 2 INT...Lost 44-6
Game 4: 1 TD, 3 INT...Lost 19-13
Game 5: 1 TD, 1 INT...Won 17-12 (only because he played against Leaf)
In case you are keeping score, that is 4 TDs and 12 INT's his first 5 games. So over the last 2/3 of a season, he threw 22 TD's and had 16 INT's, which is of course much better.
They probably could have played a vet and done better than 3-13, but why?

Not in exchange for. He can still get some football nowlidges on the sideline.
Glenn 09-21-2009, 12:55 PM Who is that Drew Gooden-lookinglike MFer in your av?

Cuz I want CJ to get a win, I want the damn good defensive effort to get a win, the city, etc. A win helps winning. <--Ooof and lol @ me.
We need a win. When was the last win? 07. I know it was this decade anyway.
Tahoe 09-21-2009, 12:57 PM Who is that Drew Gooden-lookinglike MFer in your av?
That friend, is Larry mother fuckin Foote. Bad ass of all bad asses.
Glenn 09-21-2009, 12:58 PM Foote is a bad ass, agreed.
Didn't look like him, I guess.
WTFchris 09-21-2009, 01:09 PM If we wanted to see a QB with poor accuracy and no touch checking down all the time we could just bring back Joey.
Culpepper did nothing to impress me in the preseason (and he sucked last year). He showed he can do an OK job of managing an offense, but that is about it. Unless a guy is wide open on a deep throw he can't make it (not accurate enough). He doesn't have his legs anymore either.
You'll be glad Stafford is in there now when the light goes on later in the season. When he comes back from the bye week and rattles off 3 wins in 4 games you'll change your tune.
DrRay11 09-21-2009, 01:14 PM Let Stafford take his lumps, we'll get a win eventually.
Tahoe 09-21-2009, 01:15 PM 3 of 4....Prognostifrickincations...love it. Hope you are right.
He tucked his tail and hid after that pick yesterday. I honestly believe it was an 'oh shit' moment for him. I think he knows how ugly it can get when peeps turn on their QB. Instead of coming out and fighting, he hid, imo.
CPep had an offseason to prepare, he lost a bunch of weight, he might be better than what you think.
Timone 09-21-2009, 03:56 PM The damage is done, so to speak. Gotta start Stafford.
I'm not so sure that the Minny game doesn't go the same way even with Culpepper in at QB. The Vikings are a vastly superior team and it was going to show either way.
Tahoe 09-21-2009, 06:46 PM He'll make us forget Ernie Si... (forgot his name already) in no time.
Tahoe 09-21-2009, 06:46 PM re: Poll
Y'all are wrong and have learned nothing!
WTFchris 09-21-2009, 06:53 PM Daunte is washed up.
Tahoe 09-21-2009, 06:58 PM And thats what peeps thought about Kerry Collins, Kurt Warner, etc.
Timone 09-21-2009, 07:12 PM DON'T YOU EVER

Tahoe 09-21-2009, 07:13 PM CPep can handle a below average line better than Staff.
Timone 09-21-2009, 10:03 PM So I want to know is, how is that last option different from the first one?
Tahoe 09-21-2009, 10:38 PM ^ more words
WTFchris 09-22-2009, 08:00 AM And thats what peeps thought about Kerry Collins, Kurt Warner, etc.
Kurt Warner was an MVP and super bowl champ. Daunte was never at his level to begin with. Just because a guy who never relied on his legs can make a comeback and be one of the better QBs doesn't mean a guy that mostly relied on his legs will be effective late in his career also.
Does he still do that stupid "pimp roll" bullshit and fumble on the goal line every time he's there?
Tahoe 09-22-2009, 01:37 PM The Schwatz just announced he's staying with Stafford.
Big Swami 09-22-2009, 01:56 PM Yeah, well Schwartz is a big jerk who's stupid and his big ugly face is as dumb as a butt.
Timone 09-22-2009, 03:07 PM Plus, his last name's Schwartz.
