Just curious, who would "we" draw in the first round should we hold on, NY or LA?

I'm re-posting this from another thread, because I'm lazy.

I'm staying calm about this.

We're in a shitty division, and the Tigers, quite simply, just aren't very good.

Even if they hang on and make the playoffs, they're an easy out.

I voted they'll hang on, but wont' advance. So now there is huge upside to this if they get hot.

Well, Boston and NY cannot play in the first round (same division). Unless the Tigers went on a massive run they will be the 3rd place division winner. NY is up 6.5 on LA, I assume they will hold onto that.

Assuming NY finishes #1:

NYY vs DET
LAL vs BOS

Those would be the matchups.

What would the pitching matchups look like?

CC vs Verlander
Burnett vs Jackson
Pettite vs Porcello

I think those are pretty solid really. I like our chances there.

The issue is the hitting. Tigers hit .259 as a team, which drops to .200 against the Yankees. They hit .284 and .277 against the Tigers.

There. Ya happy now?

At least thank Chris for his reply for chrissakes.

Yeah except our starting pitching hasn't even been good lately. Washburn sucks as well.

I still have a feeling we're not even going to make the playoffs.

In fact, I'm calling it right now:
THE 2009 DETROIT TIGERS WILL CHOKE AND MISS THE PLAYOFFS

I'm starting to feel the same way too, actually.

In comes b-diddy to save the day...

I think we'll for sure hang on to the AL Central.

If we take Gm 1 or Gm 2 in the ALDS Vs. the Yankees, then I think we have a shot to advance.

I don't know. The MLB Playoffs are literally a crapshoot. Nothing would surprise me.

Can I change my vote?
