View Full Version : OGT: ND vs. UM (9/12/09) INSTANT CLASSIC!!
bukdow 09-08-2009, 08:21 PM Well, WMWers, I am afraid the UM victory over WMU had more to do with WMU playing God awful. I mean it, that whole first half WMU`s DBs were playing SOFT. Back pedal, then back pedal. Horrible mistakes at key times that ended up being gifts for UM. Then, when WMU finally stopped pissing itself in the second half, UM couldn`t score another point with about 90% of its starters in. In short, ND rolls. ND 41 UM 17.
Tahoe 09-08-2009, 08:34 PM :we:'d actually score 17?
:we: 're Baaaaaaaack!
Baker 09-08-2009, 08:41 PM I think you are right about some things bukdow. I couldn't believe how much space WMUs dbs were giving Michigan receivers! One one play, all three dbs were giving 12 yds on a 3 and 5. No clue why they'd do this against a team that rarely throws the long ball. I also think Hiller played AWFUL.
However, I do think UM is much improved. How much improved will be based on this game. I think it'll be a battle. The game will be decided in the first 6-7 minutes in my opinion. Whoever starts out better wins.
Hermy 09-08-2009, 08:42 PM ND aint that good. UM is that bad. 27-17 ND.
Tahoe 09-08-2009, 08:42 PM Totally disagree with the 2nd paragraph. We could take off and look great and turn to shit in the 2nd half.
The game will be decided in the 2nd half, imo.
Timone 09-08-2009, 09:16 PM Will be fun to watch the Notre Dame receivers match up against the UM secondary.
I want to go with Michigan to win because I hate Notre Dame sooo god damn much, but Clausen's experience will be the difference maker. On the flip side, I expect Tate to do what he didn't do against WMU and that is make mistakes.
I DO think UM will keep it close though. 24-16 ND.
Timone 09-08-2009, 09:21 PM By the way, Nevada ran the ball pretty successfully against ND last week.
Timone 09-08-2009, 09:29 PM Well, WMWers, I am afraid the UM victory over WMU had more to do with WMU playing God awful. I mean it, that whole first half WMU`s DBs were playing SOFT. I didn't know you actually watched the games.
However, I do think UM is much improved. How much improved will be based on this game. I think it'll be a battle. The game will be decided in the first 6-7 minutes in my opinion. Whoever starts out better wins.
I have to disagree, because I think UM will actually start out better and even take a lead going into halftime (13-10 or somewhere in the neighborhood), but then get stagnant on offense in the 2nd half while ND gets it going and goes on to win it.
Zip Goshboots 09-08-2009, 10:47 PM My early gut feeling is ND beats UM by ten. So bet everything you have on Michigan.
More to come later in the week.
Shoopy 09-08-2009, 11:48 PM ND 37 - 24 Mich
Just my pessimistic gut-feeling.
WMU blows. but not as badly as Montana State.
b-diddy 09-09-2009, 12:34 AM i predict pain

also, michigan to run circles around nd. can our secondary stop the big 2... can warren not get a million flags?
i think this one goes down to the 4th quarter.
Wilfredo Ledezma 09-09-2009, 04:53 PM I believe Michigan wins 24-21.
darkobetterthanmelo 09-11-2009, 10:53 AM Notre Dame's experienced offensive line gives Clausen time to throw to Tate, Floyd, and Rudolph. Michigan's shaky offensive line will be exposed due to Tenuta's blitzing 3-4 defense. Notre Dame by 17.
Zip Goshboots 09-11-2009, 11:53 AM Notre Dame playing a 3-4? I like that in UM's favor. The spread (invented by Rich Rodriguez) will force their linebackers out even wider, trying to cover more of the field. This will allow UM to hit their three linemen then get to the second level. Can they blitz every play? Even so, do they have the speed and talent?
The question mark for UM is at RB and WR. Hemming way will not be healthy (but he wasn't last year) and Minor is still hurt (as he was last year). What we have is this: These are bascially the same teams that played last year, just a year older--and UM has a better quarterback than they had last year.
Your assessment of UM's line being "shaky" is off. The same starters from last year and the only unit that showed improvement as the season wore on. I don't recall them giving up any sacks to WMU. The running game was not by any means great, but I still think that says more about the running backsl--no one besides Minor excites me in the least for Michigan right now.
The spread (invented by Rich Rodriguez)
I look forward to seeing this more often.
WTFchris 09-11-2009, 12:16 PM The OL only looked bad when Robinson was in there (I do remember people in the backfield then). I'm not sure if it was simply because they knew all he did was run and the LB's brought pressure or what. Otherwise I thought they were pretty solid.
Glenn 09-11-2009, 01:48 PM UM wins on a last second FG, 20-17
Instant classic.
Wizzle 09-11-2009, 03:26 PM The Force is strong with this one

You are one deluded, schizophrenic jackass. Notre Dame by 20.
Moodini31 09-12-2009, 02:43 AM Michigan's much improved defense and ability to run the ball down ND's throat is the difference here. ND's passing attack keeps them in it, but U-M pulls out a tight one.
Michigan-27
ND-24
Zip Goshboots 09-12-2009, 05:59 AM You are one deluded, schizophrenic jackass. Notre Dame by 20.
Spin.
But thanks for the compliments.

Michigan-27
ND-24
Michigan's days of running the ball down other team's throats went out the door with Lloyd. They are no longer a tough, physical offense.
Now run around them, possibly.
jturbo 09-12-2009, 03:36 PM Oh great, Matt "cuntlick" Millen is the announcer.
Edge = ND.
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 03:36 PM ^ Just coming here to comment on that.
Timone 09-12-2009, 03:37 PM Fuck an Irish Catholic (no offense).
Let's do this.
Timone 09-12-2009, 03:40 PM You are one deluded, schizophrenic jackass. Notre Dame by 20.
Oh, I love bukdow. Reply to a cogent post with name calling and render said cogent post uncogent.
Timone 09-12-2009, 03:44 PM I'm pretty sure ND already has more total yards than they did in the entire 07 game.
jturbo 09-12-2009, 03:47 PM Freshman kickers = Dickless Fucks!
I hope that bitch didn't get a scholarship for that shit.
Timone 09-12-2009, 03:51 PM First series and UM didn't turn it over. This is already starting out better than last year's game.
jturbo 09-12-2009, 03:55 PM Where was God on that one Clausen.
Timone 09-12-2009, 03:57 PM I consider converting to Catholicism every time Forcier gets hit.
jturbo 09-12-2009, 03:59 PM OOOOOHHHHHH DAMN!
Timone 09-12-2009, 03:59 PM Matthews: awesome catch!
TATE HAS NO FEAR
jturbo 09-12-2009, 04:00 PM STOP HOLDING!
Timone 09-12-2009, 04:04 PM 7-0 good guys
Timone 09-12-2009, 04:10 PM Clausen's a fag. Bad guys tie it.
Zero defense in this one.
jturbo 09-12-2009, 04:13 PM BRING IT BACK BIATCHES!!
Timone 09-12-2009, 04:13 PM Or not. Nice job, Dick.
Timone 09-12-2009, 04:20 PM STONE COLD!!!!!!!! 14-3 good guys
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 04:21 PM I love this shit
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 04:25 PM 14-3 after 1 is an awesome start, especially considering the way ND's offense is tossing blue's D around.
i hope we keep taking it to clausen. he seems kind of like a pussy.
Timone 09-12-2009, 04:26 PM He IS a pussy. A big one. One that drinks underaged, too. That punk.
Defense would be helpful.
Timone 09-12-2009, 04:33 PM Hate to admit it, but ND's offense is pretty good.
Timone 09-12-2009, 04:39 PM Defense needs to STEP IT THE FUCK UP here
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 04:42 PM The D tried to but those cheatin bastards held our guy.
Timone 09-12-2009, 04:42 PM Flags help.
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 04:42 PM Floyd = pretty damn good.
Timone 09-12-2009, 04:43 PM You throw on Cissoko, YOU DON'T THROW AT DONOVAN FUCKING WARREN MOTHERFUCKER
Timone 09-12-2009, 04:44 PM Warren held our guy
Timone 09-12-2009, 04:44 PM Yeah, this game just might end up being a copy of the Illinois game last year.
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 04:46 PM the downside to the runback was it put the defense right back out there. we desperately need a good drive when we get the ball back.
Timone 09-12-2009, 04:49 PM The best defense is a good offense
Timone 09-12-2009, 04:54 PM Offense can't do shit right now, The Big House is quiet, ND is looking like the best offense in the history of football right now and they have great field position. This won't be pretty.
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 04:56 PM we need half time bad.
Timone 09-12-2009, 04:57 PM Holy shit, did they just tackle Armando Allen before he got a 1st down?
Timone 09-12-2009, 04:58 PM If this is going to be 3rd and long it won't matter, Jimmeh will just throw it up to Tate and he'll get the 1st.
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 04:58 PM ND is killin itself with flags.
Timone 09-12-2009, 05:00 PM All UM needs is a couple first downs on this series and they'll be able to take it to halftime and do whatever it is they do at halftime.
Timone 09-12-2009, 05:04 PM Holy shit, a first down
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 05:05 PM Gotta agree with Millen there, Tate seems like a vet or something already.
Timone 09-12-2009, 05:06 PM Stupid fucking play
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 05:06 PM Shitty call right there....cuz it didn't work.
Timone 09-12-2009, 05:12 PM Good way to finish the first half. It's nice that UM gets the ball to start the 2nd half, too.
Glenn 09-12-2009, 05:13 PM LOL @ the crowd singing along to Journey
Glenn 09-12-2009, 05:15 PM Gotta be happy with that score at the half.
Lol@ MSU "highlights"
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 05:20 PM man do i hate michigan piping in music. call me crotchety, but if you got a band, use it. its part of the pageantry.
nd is clearly the superior team. i feel like mich will need at least a few breaks to win this one.
hopefully we can keep the offense on the field more in the second half.
DennyMcLain 09-12-2009, 05:27 PM LOL @ the crowd singing along to Journey
Fucktards better not be pissing on Journey, or I'm turning die hard SpartyFan.
Timone 09-12-2009, 05:37 PM Very encouraging start.
Timone 09-12-2009, 05:38 PM LOL @ the crowd singing along to Journey
Hey, it worked for the Wings in game 7....
too soon?
Timone 09-12-2009, 05:40 PM That was discouraging.
A touchdown would have been nice.
Timone 09-12-2009, 05:41 PM Motherfuck
Points would have been nice there.
Glenn 09-12-2009, 05:44 PM That sucked. Hard.
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 05:44 PM was i the only one creeped out when millen said 'we should be calling the plays' after minor's 32 yarder? "horrifying thought, matt", would have been an appropriate response from the other commentator.
Timone 09-12-2009, 05:45 PM That ruled. Hard.
Glenn 09-12-2009, 05:45 PM That didn't !
What is going on with the running game all of a sudden?
Timone 09-12-2009, 05:46 PM Denard is like dope. THERE'S NO HOPE!!!
or something
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 05:46 PM RR needs to find a way to get DRob more touches.
Glenn 09-12-2009, 05:47 PM My "instant classic" prediction still has merit.
TD!
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 05:47 PM Hells yeah!
Timone 09-12-2009, 05:47 PM TOUCHDOWN MEECHIGAN!!
THERE ARE NO FLAGS ON THE FIED, IT'S A MIRACLE
Timone 09-12-2009, 05:48 PM JUST THINK WHAT THE SCORE WOULD BE RIGHT NOW HAD "WE" NOT FUMBLED ON THE SECOND PLAY AT THE GOALLINE ON THAT FIRST SERIES
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 05:49 PM ^ Most likey 7 more points
Glenn 09-12-2009, 05:49 PM HOW DOES OUR TAINT TASTE?
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 05:51 PM this one is feeling like an instant classic. just need to get the defense to fire it up, a bit.
im loving tate getting so much love. he's something else.
Timone 09-12-2009, 05:51 PM HOW DOES OUR TAINT TASTE?
How does our GOLDEN Taint taste?
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 05:52 PM Put the D in a tough spot here.
Timone 09-12-2009, 05:52 PM I hate anyone with Jr. in their name.
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 05:53 PM fuck jimmeh up!
Timone 09-12-2009, 05:53 PM Awesome pressure. THAT'S how you play this thing we call defense.
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 05:54 PM Nice! PUnt tHaT BiZatCH
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 05:54 PM Put the D in a tough spot here.
i like the short field. our lack of depth is a huge issue, and long drives are worse than just giving up 7 points, it perma-fucks us.
if ND is gonna score, i'd rather them get it quick and easy.
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 05:55 PM omfg did u see that leprechaun douche throwing punches
Timone 09-12-2009, 05:56 PM Your sig doesn't make much sense, Ta.
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 05:56 PM i like the short field. our lack of depth is a huge issue, and long drives are worse than just giving up 7 points, it perma-fucks us.
if ND is gonna score, i'd rather them get it quick and easy.
Great point.
Timone 09-12-2009, 05:58 PM Love the fact Tate at least takes those shots.
Doesn't look like Henne throwing those yet, but he's good. :)
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 06:00 PM "our familly [the forciers] doesnt really like the clausons"
nice.
Timone 09-12-2009, 06:01 PM TATE FOR MVP!!!
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 06:01 PM lol, forcier = mvp
Timone 09-12-2009, 06:02 PM I thought that was a good no call. Whatever.
Five hours after the play they throw the flag. How garbage.
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 06:06 PM every time nd doesnt throw at our secondary they are doing us a favor.
Timone 09-12-2009, 06:07 PM Yeah, this has been a bigger matchup advantage for ND than I thought it'd be.
Glenn 09-12-2009, 06:08 PM RR has coached a nice game so far.
That quick kick was sweet.
Timone 09-12-2009, 06:09 PM The wonders of pressure.... don't even have to hit him, just gotta rush him.
Timone 09-12-2009, 06:11 PM Re: Robinson. Love it. Tell that motherfucker what's up.
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 06:12 PM Oh shit, thought Kroger could have went to the middle of the field there instead of the sidelines.
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 06:14 PM I guess ND isn't that bad.
^ Fuck off!
Timone 09-12-2009, 06:16 PM I don't think that 3rd quarter could have gone any better. Well, maybe if "we" got some points on that first series.
Timone 09-12-2009, 06:18 PM TATE FUCKING FORCIER
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 06:18 PM HOLY SHIT! TATE!
Timone 09-12-2009, 06:20 PM Can NOT let up on defense now. No relaxing. Relaxation is for when it's over.
Timone 09-12-2009, 06:26 PM That should've been a catch. I'll take that break, though.
Timone 09-12-2009, 06:29 PM blah, good throw
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 06:29 PM Oh shit that was almost a pick
Timone 09-12-2009, 06:30 PM FUCK, could've been 6
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 06:30 PM damn, boobie could have made up for alot there.
reminiscent of fielding kicks last year.
Timone 09-12-2009, 06:30 PM This shit is ridiculous. They've already burned two timeouts.
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 06:31 PM does ND know their down 11 in the 4th qrtr? how do you let a delay of game happen?
Timone 09-12-2009, 06:31 PM Jesus, I fucking HATE Clausen and all things ND, but the kid can throw.
This kid is self-destructing.
Timone 09-12-2009, 06:33 PM Even with an 11 point lead I'm still nervous. Too much time and too good of an offense.
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 06:33 PM LMAO ... kind of at ttait
That's 12 points the kid has watched pass through his hands.
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 06:34 PM No complaints about the refs today.
Timone 09-12-2009, 06:35 PM Go for 2. And don't get it.
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 06:35 PM holy fuck do we need to answer. our defense had done.
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 06:36 PM That no go on the 2pt attempt might be big.
Clausen gave up on that play. WTF was that 2pt conversion?
He chickened out on the throw when it was there then saw he was at the side line and just threw it at the defense.
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 06:37 PM come on tate!
Timone 09-12-2009, 06:40 PM FG at the very least, please.
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 06:44 PM oh fuck. not tate's fault though.
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 06:50 PM what happened to floyd's knee?!?! first look was nasty, but he wasnt acting like his been had just exploded threw his skin, so ill assume it wasnt that. break in action lets the defense breath, nice.
Neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed a stop.
Timone 09-12-2009, 06:52 PM Well if ND get a touchdown here UM will at least have some time.
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 06:54 PM My brother called and I think he gave himself a sports hernia over that int.
TD ND
Timone 09-12-2009, 06:55 PM Time to be a hero, kid.
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 07:02 PM well damn. pretty bleak.
Timone 09-12-2009, 07:02 PM Yeah, if ND's getting the ball back they have no shot at stopping them.
Great game, good effort.
Timone 09-12-2009, 07:05 PM ND can throw it, but there's no need to. UM haven't been able to stop the run, either.
What time is the EMU game?
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 07:05 PM that should have been holding. if a blocker is behind the defender, its pretty hard to block the guy without holding.
Timone 09-12-2009, 07:06 PM Why in the fuck did they throw it? Idiots.
Would've been awesome if he picked it off and Charlie had a heart attack.
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 07:07 PM lets do this tate!
Timone 09-12-2009, 07:07 PM SO YOU THROW AGAIN AND GIVE THE BALL BACK TO UM WHEN THEY HAVE 2 TIMEOUTS LEFT
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 07:07 PM Here's your chance Tate!
Timone 09-12-2009, 07:08 PM I want to stick it to these fucks even more now.
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 07:09 PM we can use our hurry up o here. i think we've avoided it all game to protect our d. hopefully thats something.
Glenn 09-12-2009, 07:09 PM No shame in this one.
Both teams played hard.
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 07:12 PM odoms, where've you been? what a game!
Timone 09-12-2009, 07:12 PM Holy shit ladies, my palms are sweaty
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 07:13 PM i dont want this to come down to olesnsavage. we need more tate.
Timone 09-12-2009, 07:13 PM PUT ZOLTAN IN
Timone 09-12-2009, 07:14 PM YES YES YES
Timone 09-12-2009, 07:14 PM PUT DENARD IN
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 07:14 PM if i looked anything like charlie weis i'd have had multiple heart attacks by now.
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 07:14 PM THE FORCE IS WITH US! and not with Jabba right now anyway.
Timone 09-12-2009, 07:15 PM What a fucking game
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 07:15 PM savoy!!!! damn
Timone 09-12-2009, 07:15 PM TOUCHDOWN!!!!!!!1
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 07:15 PM Holfy fucking bat fucing shit
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 07:15 PM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Timone 09-12-2009, 07:15 PM TATE IS A GOD, WEIS IS FAT
Timone 09-12-2009, 07:16 PM GO FOR 2
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 07:16 PM ive never been more worried about 11 seconds.
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 07:17 PM good thing floyd isnt in. boobie on some schmuck instead of GT is big.
Timone 09-12-2009, 07:17 PM my heart is racing
You need food, dude.
Glenn 09-12-2009, 07:17 PM I can't believe what I just saw.
Timone 09-12-2009, 07:17 PM That was big.
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 07:18 PM This should be an INSTANT CLASSIC!
You heard it here first.
Timone 09-12-2009, 07:19 PM I just burst into tears
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 07:19 PM they should have one more play. oh well!
Glenn 09-12-2009, 07:19 PM "there is a new star in college football- and it's Tate Forcier"
Suck it doubters!
Timone 09-12-2009, 07:19 PM THANK YOU CHARLIE WEIS
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 07:21 PM I thought on that kick that the he touched the ball, but it went through his hands. The clock should have started there.
9 secs is about right, imo. <--completely unbiased.
Cross 09-12-2009, 07:23 PM that was a good game i must admit
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 07:23 PM throwing backfired on weis, but i dont fault him. we were hemorrhaging in the secondary, play to your strengths.
i would much rather have tate than that shithead in columbus.
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 07:25 PM wonder how lou feels about his national champs now.
rank us!!
Glenn 09-12-2009, 07:25 PM What a beautiful day in college football!
I love this game!
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 07:26 PM Speaking of shithead...
MSU lost.
UofM won.
Hmmm, what could really top this day off? If the pink and gray do down.
Timone 09-12-2009, 07:26 PM Good luck against ND next week, to the Sparty fans.
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 07:27 PM chuckles is gonna beat them by 4 tds. i have a feeling a couple of resident sparties might disappear for a little while.
Glenn 09-12-2009, 07:28 PM Hey LDB, hell of a day in the sandbox, eh?
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 07:28 PM Tate is pretty damn good. I want to go find Bukky's Tate thread when I get some time....or Bakers.
Timone 09-12-2009, 07:28 PM No way around it, UM's secondary was dominated all game long. MSU's isn't any better though.
Timone 09-12-2009, 07:29 PM Hey LDB, hell of a day in the sandbox, eh?
Bro, awesome day.
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 07:30 PM I saw a couple great coverages (passes knocked down) but overall, yes, we were outmatched. All game long, no.
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 07:35 PM hopefully boobie can recover. he wasnt just getting killed by golden and floyd, but everyone.
ND should have won this game. charlie was 100% right before the game. 5 years into his system, better talent. they simply were a better team and should have won.
i really dont understand how we won this one. forget the drive charlie threw 2 times and didnt kill the clock. we were like a boxer with a broken rib, the other boxer was pounding it, but we still manged to gut it out.
luck + good game play (RR) + great play making by tate. michigan has 'the buzz' back.
shags 09-12-2009, 07:35 PM The Irish have a very potent offense. I'm not sure Michigan will play a better one all season.
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 07:59 PM ND might have done more for our pass defense, for the rest of the season, than any D coordinator we have.
They had to work all damn day.
I just disagree they got smoked all day. But I didn't see every play either.
Timone 09-12-2009, 08:02 PM ND might have done more for our pass defense, for the rest of the season, than any D coordinator we have.

There were times when Boob made a good play, and Warren also did an OK job overall. For the most part though, ND got what they wanted.
b-diddy 09-12-2009, 08:05 PM i held my breath every time the clausen threw. maybe it felt worse than it actually was. the second qtr was terrible. but i really think that was due to the run back and michigan's d just being out there too long.
Timone 09-12-2009, 08:06 PM On the bright side, things should be a lot easier for them next week. Unless Eastern has receivers on the level of Floyd and Tate and I didn't know...
CindyKate 09-12-2009, 08:10 PM LOL @ boobie for mouthing 'he can't fuck with me' after one good play against Floyd. His first half was brutal. Glad it's somewhat different in the 2nd half.
How bad are Hemingway and Stonum's injuries?
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 08:13 PM When was the last time 'WE" had a QB that could scramble/create the way the Force does?
I was thinking (believe it or not) during the game today, our recent QBs that would have been sacked sooooooo many times today. Tate got out it.

Tahoe 09-12-2009, 08:15 PM ^ ok, I'll quit that shit then

i expected 'shoelace' to be the gayest story of the year for michigan.
forcier puns are probably worse.
but worst is hearing about how he doesnt get nervous.
i think i would hate forcier if he wasnt so good. the good news is it probably makes sparties hate him 2x as much.
Timone 09-12-2009, 08:19 PM I'll be honest, I was guilty of saying "May the Forcier Be With You" after last week. I only did it one time, though.
Timone 09-12-2009, 08:55 PM 5-9 now
Tahoe 09-12-2009, 10:54 PM What a snag by Mathews on that TD.
Moodini31 09-13-2009, 02:35 AM Michigan's days of running the ball down other team's throats went out the door with Lloyd. They are no longer a tough, physical offense.
Now run around them, possibly.
You know what I mean. I'll take 190 yards and 5 yards per carry any day.
Moodini31 09-13-2009, 03:04 AM Wow! One of the best sporting events I have ever been to in my life! The Big House was rocking and absolutely electric for 4+ hours. Love the fact they actually play music there now. Really cool to hear "Welcome to the Jungle" and "Lose Yourself" before a big 3rd down. Yup, that's right. Eminem was played in the Big House! Goodbye Lloyd and the old cronies. It's clearly a new era at Michigan. Only a matter of time before :we: get a night game.
First off, ND's offense is for real. I think Clausen, Floyd, Golden Tate and probably Rudolph have legit NFL futures. They managed to shoot themselves in the foot a few times early, :we: shut them down in the 3rd, and Jobba tried to go "genius" in the 4th, but other than that, :we: had no chance to stop them.
I know the hype is going to grow to epic proportions, but what can you say about Tate? (TAINT?) One of the best QB performances in Michigan history. Dude looks like a 5th year senior with ice water in his veins. When I was 18, my heart was racing and I was fumbling the controller on the ground during the 4th quarter in a tight game playing NCAA '99 on my PS2. He's chilled out, leading Michigan down the field for the winning TD vs. Notre Dame in front of 110,000 people at the Big House, with 10 million more watching on national TV! He's quick, mobile, accurate, makes great decisions, and has "it". He scared the crap out of me a few times dancing around, but turned nothing into something over and over again. Just a gamer. Wow.
Brandon Minor needs to be Michigan's RB as much as possible. For some reason when he's in there, gaping holes open up and big plays happen.
A little worried about the secondary. Boubacar. Really? Toast over and over again. Saw Mike Williams get hurt and :we: had some white dude named Kovacs playing safety. That is trouble my friends.
Obviously a big, exciting win for Michigan. I'm not saying :we: are going to go undefeated, and I know some breaks won't go our way and inexperience has to become a factor sooner or later, but I think :we: should have a chance in every game remaining on the schedule. What a difference a year and a quarterback makes.
The Rodriguez era is going to be great. This is just year 2! Wait till the roster is filled up with his players. I believe RR will take Michigan to heights we have never seen before. (In the national title hunt every year and avoiding LC mediocre seasons)

Glenn 09-13-2009, 12:17 PM It was a near nirvana college football day.
UM wins
ND loses
MSU loses
OSU loses
I'll take that combination anytime.
Glenn 09-13-2009, 12:19 PM And little cousin getting some love for getting the best of lil' bro is icing on the cake.
Glenn 09-14-2009, 10:01 AM UM wins on a last second FG, 20-17
Instant classic.
I had a nice weekend.

Not a reflection on you, Mood, but more so a reflection on every Michigan fan right now:
Can we settle down a little bit? I know that Michigan just won a game they probably weren't supposed to win, but come on. Two weeks ago everyone was ready to hang Rich Rod, but now he's God? Let's wait until we play the MSU's, PSU's and Ohio States before we make these statements.
I'm all for being excited about the win, but guys, it's just that: One Win. I will still be happy with a 7-5 season. Don't get your hopes too far up yet. There's still 10 games to go.
Glenn 09-14-2009, 10:10 AM The Rose Bowl is on Jan. 7th, right?
Just checking.
MoTown 09-14-2009, 10:11 AM Fair enough.
Glenn 09-15-2009, 11:32 AM In short, ND rolls. ND 41 UM 17.
ND aint that good. UM is that bad. 27-17 ND.
You are one deluded, schizophrenic jackass. Notre Dame by 20.
Hermy 09-15-2009, 12:48 PM Gonna need to put a Detroitlionsesque "no betting on Blue" rule into my bankroll. Killed me 2 weeks in a row.
Glenn 09-15-2009, 01:08 PM Betting against the Lions is the best strategy you can have.
Hermy 09-15-2009, 01:32 PM You will lose money. It's an awful idea. Bet the money line if you want, but you'll make piss.
I've literally won 20% of my Lions bets in my life.
Glenn 09-15-2009, 01:41 PM Lions were 1-7 ATS at home last year.
Might be more of the same this year.
Moodini31 09-15-2009, 06:04 PM Mo, I'm not going too crazy here. Just excited. Before the year I said 6, maybe 7 wins. Now I say 8, maybe 9.

WTFchris 09-16-2009, 01:05 PM If they miraculously made a BCS bowl game run he should be in the conversation (he'd still lose to Tebow or McCoy I bet). Wasn't Ringer in the Heisman standings too? He didn't really have a shot to win it either (unless they made a similar run).
I would take a winning season.
WTFchris 09-16-2009, 01:15 PM They sure showed those two ND chicks a lot (not that I'm complaining).
Tahoe 09-16-2009, 01:18 PM I would take a winning season.
Depends on who the wins are over. I'd prolly take a lil less if 'we' beat the right teams.
Glenn 09-16-2009, 01:43 PM Did this game ever get rebroadcasted?
MoTown 09-16-2009, 01:47 PM I can't get too excited about the season until the Big Ten season starts. Michigan seems to be better than expected, but they're young, and I know that will play into a couple of games in the Big Ten season.
I'll be happy with a winning season, as well. I'll be psyched over an 8 win season. I'll be extatic if they finish with 9 wins and finish in the top 25. Beyond that, I doubt they can do much more.
Tahoe 09-16-2009, 02:25 PM Did this game ever get rebroadcasted?
In Tahoe's house it did.
Zip Goshboots 09-16-2009, 04:16 PM Did this game ever get rebroadcasted?
So far, at least three times. I DVR'd it from Sunday night on ESPNU. It was up today also.
JickBoy34 09-16-2009, 05:16 PM I got some serious chills watching the end of that game for the first time...I had to listen to it the first time while at a wedding reception.
Moodini31 09-16-2009, 05:41 PM In Tahoe's house it did.
It's been played back in it's entirety in the Moodini household twice.
Jick, I thought you weren't going to the wedding and were gonna watch Michigan, lol.
JickBoy34 09-16-2009, 07:26 PM My sister was the maid of honor, and I had to see her speech...brother duties.
